i think most here ditched the hot spring awhile ago

thanks bfrie, thing is that without the spring none of my 18490 make contact with the positive button, no matter how much i close it.

... and i have a bazillion of those batts floating around (also 18650, but i like the compactness / vape time of 18490's when leaving the house)

DW - clear your inbox brother.

dhomes: after you determine why you had a short in the first place, since you are no longer protected against overcurrent, you can use a brass bolt dropped into the MKB's bottom cap Axis to extend it's connection to the battery. It's not elegant but works good.

Done................

Why use the brass bolt? or would that be required for other battery size, eg 18490
Oh never mind, I read the posts

didn't think about that, duh!

I think it collapsed because of an mkb-ts adapter that shorted that i bought from vaporbank (button got really hot when I used this adapter intead of the ego/510-shorty i was using before)

its alright, your the second person ive pointed this out to today :p

and that has happened to mine with and without any adapter. i just unscrew it until the battery no longer makes contact as soon as things get hot. i think someone posted here about replacing the center pin with a longer brass rod that is long enough to go through the entire adapter and taking the center out of the adapter as a fix for that. could give that a try?

Actually, I did something pretty close last night, I went and bought a 1/8" brass screw, sew it to length and then with a dremel flattened the screwing end a bit so that it would make good contact with the battery (the dremel can be replaced with some coarse sanding for sure)

been working fine ever since, but now i had to get another 510 shorty as I lost the old one so I'm using my device without the gold-coloured end cap (not sure what material that is)

MKBTS Stormy stealth cap in 18650 (shimmed switch- fires every time - no heat) ... Art of Exhale Axiom Ti (like a Spheroid)... my favorite; light as a feather.

How do you like the Axiom, uke? I thought about getting one when they were first posted, because I really like my spheroid, but didn't pull the trigger. Any videos on them?

I don't think Hill Giant has any Axiom vid because its new... but he may.
I got all my input from his vids on AoE....
They are the best.
Axiom.. is my favorite... i never could get the hang of the spheroid myself.
This has advantages: air hole on base of connector vs. in the 510 threads area. high posts with a high air post (see the pics on the Axiom thread on VWall... means you can put a hell of a lot of juice in there (i make my wick with high loops for the filler in top cap, and drag some tails on the bottom for pickup). he sent it with a 2.1 Ohm pre made coil/wick and it fabulous on my mech's.
Excellent everything... flavor and vapor... light as a feather and the d/t too.

i prefer his Big Ben over the Kayfun.... lighter, simpler... holds 4 mil. juice... very innovative yet simple.

Anyone know where i can get a shim for the button or possibly a new spring or whole new button set up ? Ive used my button so much it just seems like its getting crappy lol. Is there any complete button setups to that will go into the MKB ?

Just take your switch apart, and stretch-out the spring some.. Works great for me... As for the shim, I don't use one.. Just run a search of this thread using "shim" for the keyword for plenty of info, or I'm sure someone will be along shortly.. :)

Can't make up my mind if I like these or not.......:D
I have a GG control on one of mine and it too is smaller in diameter than the MKB ring. Knurling is not as rough either.

Sweet collection! :) If you do get ahold of one of the Hercules, the AFC ring is about the exact diameter of the MKB-TS tube.. Looks slick IMO.. :) I'm also getting better precision dialing-in the draw...

I missed one in the classifieds yesterday by a minute..:(. Been watching for a bargain on one. The CFO said I have exceeded my allowance for the month.
