Hello everyone. I am pretty new to vaping. I tried it once about 2 years ago and had some trouble sticking with it! This time I am more determined.

A few weeks ago I bought an ego twist c with aspire nautilus mini tank. And I just found out today the I can change the wattage on it. So I will def play around with that a little more tomorrow.

Didn't think I would be into buying a mod, but today I went into a shop to pick up a bottle of juice and I was tasting them. They gave me a mod and I was blown away by how much stronger the flavors were for me. So I am curious for any recommendations. I am looking at more of the pen style rather than the box just because the box seems a little awkward. But really just want some ideas that are good for a newbie

What you are probably going to be looking for is a "regulated" mod. These utilize a microprocessor to regulate your battery's voltage, increase or decrease the voltage (or wattage) to the atomizer. These come in two form factors -- tube or box. You'll also be looking at two types of battery mods -- those that have a non-replaceable internal battery, or those that use replaceable external batteries.

I suggest that you look up my blogs, by Googling "Baditude's Blogs", and do plenty of research into what is available and decide which might best suit your needs. Read Good Starter Setups for a Beginning Vaper, Advancing Up the Vaping Ladder, and Proper Terminology: Guide to Juice Delivery Devices.

Hi and welcome.

First... the Nautilus is a crappy tank that somehow gets more love than I'll even understand... My wife and daughter had some, and I never liked them (purchased due to "recommendations"). Once I got my TC60W, they both ended up getting one too and their Nautilus are in a drawer and neither care to ever use them ever again.

I prefer comfortable mods, so not a fan of the boxes.

My recommendation.. check out the Eleaf TC60W kit with the Melo 2 tank. This takes you to the next level and is good enough that it can be a kit that you'll use for many years. Also, it's not very expensive at all... this kit is less than some tanks by themselves, for both a great mod and a great tank, other brands are 3-4 times more.

Pros and cons for mod and tank:

Pros:
Mod (TC60W):
Incredibly comfortable mod to hold.
60W is more than enough for most usage and just about any tank, heck I stick to 45W.
Removable battery (18650).. so you can have a few spares, and if the battery dies, you don't throw the mod out, you just get a new battery.
Sleak, not much bigger than a pen, but again, so comfortable that it's better. Very nice looking mod.
Temp. control.. I absolutely love it, no longer care about wattage mode.

Tank (Melo2)
Uses coil cartridges that you can use over a dozen types and brands, and they are really easy to rebuild
Top/side fill, no need to take the tank off or apart to refill the liquid. Slide door open, fill. Super easy, fast, efficient... I love it.

Cons:
none for either..

Notes: with sub-ohming, expect battery life to not be as long as with the pen type and small/tiny coils, and it does use liquid faster.

And if you do want to stick with a small pen type, the Joyetech eGo AIO is getting a lot of good feedback.

What I'm gonna suggest is get yourself a Provari 2.5 , they're among the best built mods you can get , and it will provide you with many years of vaping , these devices used to be close to the $200 mark for quite some time but thay can be had for next to nothing now, you will need to purchase batteries and a battery charger but for a minimal investment you can get one of the highest quality devices on the market and your Nautilus will work just fine on it to boot .

I was thinking about going with the 2.5 or 2.5 mini. So I don't feel the need to upgrade again too soon. I saw that they work with nautilus tanks but will it work with my mini?

This looks like a good option too. I will look into this and the price is good! Thanks for the advice

Yes they will. The Provari (both mini & standard) and Nautilus (both mini and standard) are well matched for each other. I've had both the Mini and Standard Provari, loved them both at the time. I wrote the blog, Why Provari?

I don't much use my Provari's because my preferences have changed over time. But I highly recommend them to anyone who doesn't plan to sub-ohm.

Well, if you want something that would give you flavour and options, sticking to the Nautilus and variable voltage batteries won't change that. Going for a limited device is just going to make you regret wasting your money as it's not going to give you the "experience" that you did at the store with the mod. You'll see that the moment that you get something "good".

The reason I recommend the TC60W is that it is a "full" mod, and the Melo2 tank is going to blow you and that Nautilus away easily... I read a lot about the different mods out there, checked everything at every store, and when the TC60W came out, there was no questions about it, I had found "the" mod for me. (And we've already have had several mods and tanks as we've been vaping for over 8 years).

It is a kit that will last you for a long time, as it is not a "beginners" kit, it's a full fledged one, and for versatility, I've yet to see anything like it, except the Pico, but the shape and size isn't as comfortable in hand, but is a rock solid other option.. just read the few threads about it.

I'm just trying to guide you towards you getting something that you won't regret later on.

I have 3 mods on my desk, 4 tanks, and the Melo 2 is still my favourite, and I mostly use both my TC60W and my newer TC100W (which I got because of dual batteries for longer life).

These devices have turned me into an Eleaf fan, as when I see the other stuff that people rant about, I see them sell them, trade them constantly, while the Eleaf mods and tanks... very very rarely, and the people that mention them, it always about how much they enjoy them. I've seen a few "haters" and that's because they broke theirs or got one of the rare faulty unit and flip out over it.

As Baditude said they'll work just fine with your mini , and you just can't go wrong at that price either . Another thing is Provape has great customer service and the Provari's are repairable should you damage it , if you damage a chinese mod ,it goes out with the trash .

I'm not a Provari fanbois by a longshot , 99.9 percent of the time you'll find me with a REO in my hand but for those times I'm feeling to lazy to squonk a 2.5 topped with a Rose V2 is a wicked flavor machine .

Buying a provari 2.5 mini is a poor choice.
    Limited to 1.2 onm coil.
    Horrible UI.
limited to 18350 button top batteries.
Selling blems at 30usd may seem like a good deal,,only if you have other devices.
    Oh yea no TC.
I know you can get an 18650 extender. At a.price approaching the cost of the mod!
    Folks, it's obsolete.

If you want a tube,,look at the innokin svd. Was brought back a year or so ago with a DNA 20 watt chip. Purchased at ebay for 30 usd.
My blem Provari is a distant second..

To get a tube that can do the same as a box, the tube is possibly bigger (longer).
I gave up tubes (excluding mechs) when the isticks came out. Maybe consider the 30, 40, or ideally the 60 with removable batteries. Or the Pico.

Well got my first mod! stopped by a new shop tonight and he recommended the Pico. So much better flavor wise and cloud wise than my ego. Super excited. He showed me a few tubes as well, this seemed like the biggest bang for my buck :). Didn't want a box, but it is so little that shape didn't phase me. It has a lot of power in that little box :)

What are you using it with, your Nautilus mini? Should be a nice fit. And now with all that power, you can start buying lots of new tanks to pair it with. Then you can start to buy more mods so your tanks can sit on them for impulse vaping. Rinse, and repeat. Welcome To Vape World!

I actually got it with the melo 3. Starter kit was affordable at my shop. Plus really liked the idea of having a drip tip. So I have some options to vape a couple different juices each day. The flavor is crazy good on it...not that I have a huge frame of reference. So much more power. Right now vaping me some space jam Pluto. Next I may try my puppy drool in it
