When I first started vaping, I was under the delusion that it was going to save me money over smoking analogs. It has to some extent but I'm still shelling out for cartomizers and juice every week.... (To the tune of $25-$50 a week on stuff.) Not a big deal as it is money that would have been spent on analogs anyway..... Plus now that I'm finding the juices I really like, that will settle down some.

Currently, my wife and I each have two standard 510 mega batteries, a 5V passthrough and a 3.7 battery box mod each. I am sending the pieces and parts I've collected for a 5V box mod to a friend to be assembled next week.

This about maxes me out monetarily. And then I see some of you with not one or two but several high end mods and I wonder just how y'all are possibly paying for these and still keeping up on your bills. Some of the mods out there cost upwards of $100 or more and people collect them like a pack of bubblegum cards.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not resentful about it. Maybe a little jealous. Sometimes I just feel like I've fallen into the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous here. Do y'all have some fat trust funds or just really good paying jobs? I admit it.... I covet your mod collections!

The main thing is that you are vaping and not smoking , there are all kinds of DIY pv's out there that can be built very cheaply .
I happen to use what I make , I have some AA box mods laying around that I put variable regulators in for very little $$ maybe $15 or so and they work great !

i find it funny that folks that thought nothing of spending $8 for a pack of cigs , for me that was@ $120/week quibble over spending that on vaping ?

that said , I do it too :)

It's a psychological effect, you spend money in small amounts and it makes you think you're not spending as much as you really do.

I just decided to buy everything that interested me, kept them all for a while, and kept the top 5 that i used most frequently, i have wasted a boatload of money on bad stuff and some godawful juice, but it was worth it to find my comfort spot.

I have bought numerous mod running anywhere from $80 to $200. I have hundreds of atomizers and cartomizers and too much eliquid to any count. I have still spent less on ecigs than smoking. It may not be much but this is so much more fun than cigarettes and I can look at my purchases instead of a dead cigarette .....

How can you put a price on your health.

I just look at the fact that if I was still smoking I'd be spending at least $160 a week on cigs so if I spend $100 a week on vaping I'm still saving ;) Now that I make my own juice 99.9% of the time and have my 2 GGTS with AVS's, a 3.7v/6v Journeyman, a VV Ali'i on the way, a 5v Sabretouch and a Buzz with a ton of various atty's and cartos so my spending has now dropped dramatically.

I've been fortunate enough to find my sweet spot juices..I DIY some, and buy from my favorite juice vendor. I've narrowed my flavors down to just a few that I love. And even luckier to have found the perfect mod for me in the Buzz. I threw money at some bad choices when I first started, but that is getting much better now that I know what I like :)

Instead of buying shoes like a lot of ladies...I save up for my vaping hobby!

Single parent here. I get jealous when I see people testing all these new mods. I have shoes with holes in it for work and decided to buy a new mod 2 days ago instead of new shoes. You can see my prioritys are in order. But you work hard and need to reward yourself every once in awile.

That is 100% correct and you would have spent the money on smokes anyway, right???

I'm really cheap and used to roll my own cigs so I'm not saving a bundle if anything. But I do stick to a budget and like a lot of people it got easier once I figure out what I liked. Plus now that I'm stocked up I can wait and take advantage of specials or order from China if need be. I have even started making mods to give to friends, who I got started on 510's and Kr8's who needed more battery life.

I would have spent more on smokes. I will be honest I only spend about 30 to 40 a month on supplies for my ecig. Of course that does not count the new mod I order about every 6months. Compared to I smoked a pack a day at what average $6.00. I am way ahead here. I just don't get to try every new thing out there when they first come out. Ecigs have been one of the best things to happen to me in a long time. Money and the way I feel.

Well, after about 19 months I finally broke even a day or so ago, but that includes the fact that I'm stocked for a couple of years. It also includes all the 4081 and 510 parts I don't use anymore, the passthroughs, the Kensington power pack, the fish filter stuff and even the Crest Pro Health, etc., I bought to clean atties with. The way I broke even was finally finding a mod setup I'm satisfied with, selling a couple that didn't suit me, and not needing something new every couple of months.
