I am nowhere near that advanced lol. Going over 40W is too much for me! Idk anything about temp control and if my coils can do it (I'll look into that). That is part of why I like the idea of the baby alien, it lets you use temp control and shows you the wattage you're at, or at least I think that's what it was doing in the videos I've seen lol.

TC is a lot less work than power, it saves you time and a bit of money, not to mention the unknowns of overheating pg/vg until it breaks down chemically and then inhaling it. think of it like rn you're holding down the fire button, the board continues to apply power and your coil keeps getting hotter the longer you press it down... in TC once you hit the temp you want it backs off & only gives you enough power to maintain that temp. You get much less crap caked on the coil & under 420F it's impossible to burn cotton. if you're using drop in coils then you just need SS ones. I'm sure smoktech makes them.

They have to have SS coils for that tank, a lot of people use it. Plus most of smoktech's mods have TC afaik.
Only for the TFV4.

Isn't the 30q 15-20a and hg2 18a? Since you're using single cell mods that go up to 80watts I'd go Sony vtc5a's (25a) they might be a bit better for your needs. Those are all I use anymore bc I know they have a high enough CDR to handle single cell vaping and a decent enough mAh rating for the married ones I use.

That way I don't have to think about it, I just always buy the same batteries. Also, temp control might help with your issues, it's helped my gf a LOT. Coils can easily get very hot in wattage mode (>500F), some people are more sensitive to that than others. If you're feeling adventurous, you can put ArcticFox firmware on your evic, making it one of the best TC mods out there.
Them Sony vtc5a's are great batteries, but 30qs are fine with single cell mods :)

There is many people that don't go over 40 watts, it doesn't necessarily mean that your not an advanced vaper :)
People rebuild but vape at 10 watts, the sub ohming craze is taking over but not everyone wants to vape so high. I vape at 12 watts most of the time!

I know, I just dont use them anymore the 30q was rated at 15a, but mooch says 20a now, if they still have a 20a CDR, should be good for 60 watts though. it's kind of like the hg2 they were 20a a year or two ago but now mooch rates them at 18a.

I need my batteries to have at least a 20a CDR & I don't want to to worry about if they changed something again or whatnot whenever I'm buying new ones, so now I just use the vtc5a's bc I know they'll be good for 20a at least. Plus, most single cell mods now go higher than 60, and the sony's have the best balance imo of amp rating/mAh rating. They're all I use now, apart from a couple of old re-wrapped 25r5's that are on their way out and ijoy for my 26650's.

Thanks for letting me know, I use my vtc5as in my g priv & they definitely work better with my higher wattages, I vape at 70 watts & I use my 30qs for my tesla nano at 15 watts. I've always known the Sony ones are better for my higher wattage but that confirms why! I've used efest for low wattage and they are fine but battery life was terrible even though I was at ten watts! Stupid efest

Smok unfortunately doesn't offer ss coils, or coils of any other tc-capable material.

Also the tc isn't good on Smok mods, I have the h priv, g priv, alien and osub an excellent it's less than average on them all. I only vape in power mode most of time now though so they do fine.
Do you have any suggestions for a decent tc mod though, not much experience with tc... I've tried ss on a fair few but wasn't the best!

Yeah, a joyetech/wismec mod with a reflash of ArcticFox custom firmware will give you a cheap and good idea of what dna TC is like. Just don't get one of the ones that has the 510 falling out.

The old evics are fine.

Gotta say though... wth is smoktech doing not offering any TC coils?

I was looking at a Wismec dna200 & that didn't really break the bank, might try that out.
And I know what the hell, I think e cig should have tc options!
