Alright you have the two choices. If you can get both that would be great, if not, I'd probably go with a variable voltage mod.

Here's why:

Mechanical mods- Are highly durable, simple to use and can be super economical. The downside though is that they are unregulated and so the vape gets steadily worse as you vape.

The VV devices- These can be cheap as well but are a bit less durable. The main thing is that they regulate the voltage and keep it constant through the battery's charge.

Mechanical mods can work great and give you huge clouds. The sub ohm people have shown this. But unless you have the know how to build your own coils and so on, I find the mechanicals to be just too inconsistent.

What is your budget for this?

it is around $100.00 but well if it is less even better, the problem there is too many batteries that i am not sure which one to really pick.

and the mechanical ones, it seems tempting but i would think i will end up just making it an obsession to tweak with the coils and other stuff which might take out on my side the enjoyment of vaping.

I would have said the Vamo a week ago, but since I received my iTaste SVD, I'm really digging it. Affordable, under $100, telescoping so it can take 1x 18650, 1x 18500, 1x 18350, or 2x 18350's. Variable voltage, variable wattage, ohm checker, battery life indicator, menu is easy to learn, and the buttons LOCK! Yes, they LOCK! Woo hoo!! That was the biggest turn off for me with the Vamo. No locking buttons.

I would also suggest an iTaste MVP, but I've been encountering more and more people having troubles with their MVPs. Plus, the MPV IS the battery, so once it's dead, it's dead. No replacing internal batteries.

If you do choose a tube mod, or even a mech mod, you're going to need batteries and a battery charger, also.

Hey blue,

That is all part of the fun, and once you have built a "good coil" you will have a really enjoyable vape, no tweaking required.

It is only my personal preference, but since getting my mech`s, i have found that i use my regulated stuff less and less.EDIT... I forgot to add, boge low resistance carts work brilliantly on mechs. No having to worry about coils etc, just fill and go. wow

Well the thing is so if I get mech, and currently I have my cartos the kanger evod and the iclear 16 can I start using it right away?

I assume mech is mechanical because it is just a switch right, no electronics involved so the key is that since there is no regulated voltage the only way to tweak with the power output will be by creating the right resistance on the coil is that correct? It is tempting I am an electronic engineer to i know something about resistance but ok what would you recommend to get me as far as mechanical that would be working on day one and will play nice with my cleros that are 2 Ohms right now

This morning I've been using my Mako (mechanical). My Provari is sitting right beside it. Know what? They taste exactly the same. That might be because they are set up to taste the same. I can also change the way either one of them tastes any time I want to. They both have an A7 mini on them. The one on the Mako has a 1.6 ohm coil in it, and the Provari a 2.4 ohm coil @ 3.9v.

will look into those, and yes I realize that any mod needs batteries now, I am seeing all the batteries what is the difference on my going to a battery+ store and getting me some sort of lithium battery and a charger there? or are this "special batteries" that only fit this devices.

Special batteries that only fit that device. Well, they're used for other things, but you can't run in Walmart and pick up a pack of batteries.

just kidding! I just upgraded from a ego twist to a zmax v3 and it is amazingly better , variable wattage, small form factor, sturdy, and cheap! I got it at 50 buck plus batteries and charger

Yep been looking on that one.

So is there a big vaping community in Monterrey, that is cool where you get your supplies there?

there is not really a community but have seen a LOT of vapers in the wild here each week I spot about 4-5 vapers
On the supply side I have a few B&M shops here that carry a good variety but not that friendly prices, for the big stuff I usually order in the US and get them delivered to an apartment in TX where I pick them up eventually
