DIY is pretty fun most of the time. Car, PC, Bed, E-cig....

Could you mod a Bling by following that thread about "hotter bling atomizer coil" and use it to smoke e-juice instead of using the ruyan replacement cigar carts?

Does it take a mod to just change the default atomizer out on the bling?

They sell the replacements but I assume this would void the warrenty and return on the ruyan.

In your opinion would the cart size increase from the bling be worth that much work, over just getting a pen style?

Sorry this is a lot of questions about the bling but I'm not allowed to post in the mods forum yet.

Thanks a lot

yes, that was the point of doing it

sure does

bigger cart, and really inexpensive generic batteries from DX

BUT - you can get the same performance as a modded BLING by just buying a generic cigar to begin with. The non-ruyan branded cigars smoke like chimneys ;-)
There's no point buying a new BLING just to rip it apart to make it work like a Puresmoker or "NGAR", especially when the Puresmoker or "NGAR" cigar are the same price, or less.
NGAR has a year warranty too.

Honestly, I can't lie or dodge around it.

What attracts me to the Bling is the Case design and art.

I know thats a pretty lame reason to desire one, and all the extra work that would go into making it what I'm looking for in an e-tool :)

Not a lame reason at all!

I am the same way. I have a Puresmoker Bada-Bing, but would love to have a Bling that vaped the same. I originally started looking at the Bling because I liked the design, but after seeing the reviews and hearing how bad the vapor was and how you had to use the Ruyan carts, I decided to get the PS cigar instead. And let me tell you, the Bada-Bing is the way to go for vapor production. This thing is a monster!

I do, however, sit here occasionally looking at my Bada-Bing and my Dremmel tool wondering if I have the skills to carve out the casing with some cool designs.

As for the atomizer, no. The atomizer is built into the casing and can't be easily replaced. I believe all cigar-styles are the same.

RjG - not thought too much about cigars before; beginning to feel like getting one. They smoke bigger than e-cigs? And the cart is bigger? Seems a good move :)

I'm curious about the carts ... What is the capacity - 1ml ? And same technology - narrow tube with folded fluffy polyester sheet or something different ??

I just measured it for you, a cigar cart holds 1.25 ml.
If you put the stuffing in there, it would probably be closer to 1ml though

The stuffing is plain old polyester stuff, yes. Looks just like a pen cart, but bigger.

Batteries are here: DealExtreme: $4.32 Ultra Fire 10440 3.6V 500mAh 2Pack
That's $4.40 / pair SHIPPED (note actual capacity is more like 280mah measured on my hobby cycler @ 300ma)

RjG Thats quite a diff from the advertised capacity (-40%) .I always suspected those battery makers where being a bit optimistic with the claimed capacities but didn't think they would be that optimistic .:|

Yaaa, just like a chinese 5hp motor is actually 2, a chinese audio amp says it's 300watts when it's really 35.... they have their own special way of measuring things I guess ;-)

Just to be fair, the rating would be a little higher if I load tested them at 20 or 50 ma... but I had 4 DX batteries + 4 Ruyan batteries to test, I didn't want to wait 3 days

To put it in perspective, my genuine ruyan batteries that are about 6 months old tested 268,242,239, and 210. Also, one of the DX ones is only @142 after a few months (it may have been bad since new) and another DX battery is still 260 after the same amount of use. LiIon is a not a super reliable technology when used for 3C or 4C loads :-O That's why it's nice that they are so CHEAP for the cigar! LOL
