OK, I'll steer people towards safety . Except I've never seen a mod blow up, or heard of one until this thread (batteries, Yea, usually from charging) . This thread has been educational. I watched a video where the guy swore that mods won't blow up if they have holes. So without this thread, I may have thought that was the case.
BTW, never had an ego
While you may not of heard of many accidents... you have to realize you are only 1 in 7.2 billion people on earth. There are millions of people vaping world wide... while this site has over 200,000 people registered only 18,000 are active. What gets reported here or even in the media is just a tiny fraction of what goes on in the vaping world over all. So your lack of observations dont add up to much in the bigger picture.
For many of us who are safety minded... the amount of new vapers just showing up in this tiny little slice of the internet is exploding rapidly. This includes those who want to jump right into advanced vaping on mechanical mods and sub-ohm atties without having any experience with regulated devices and in many cases no knowledge or education on ohm's law and li-on battery safety. I'm seeing even more of this on Facebook communities for local vaping groups and retailer pages.
My point is it would appear the odds of tragic accidents occurring are rising rapidly as the vaping population grows and the current popularity of cloud chasing using unregulated gear just adds to the increased risks. There are a lot of smart people who sub-ohm vape safely on a daily basis... But also a lot of inexperienced people jumping in... hopefully the more we educate the less risk of accidents. But we can't base it on limited exposure or reports of incidents...
