I share your sentiments. I went to buy one from Vaperev, being the only place that had them, added to cart along with some extra batteries and saw the ~$12 shipping. Nope!

I know that in the US this is expensive for shipping , but it always makes me cry a little inside when people complain about it. In canada if I had something shipped from the other side of my city it would be 10-14$. I generally have to pay 14$ for shipping on anything I order within canada.

I'll post some pics of mine if canada post ever feels like delivering it , it was supposed to be here yesterday along with a By Leo shipment.

But you canucks have "free" healthcare. I would take that over inexpensive shipping any day

Free hospitals are nice yes. Still , I wouldn't mind paying less in shipping lol.

It's not the money that I take umbrage with. USPS came up with this niffty idea... they give you a small box and tell you that whatever you can stuff in it, we will ship it for about 5 bucks. My issue is that VR is charging me $12 for a $5 service.

That's exactly my issue. VR deserves no respect from me. Ok. Everyone needs to make a profit. But to profit on a service you will lose ZERO money on? Meh

She can come out. I didn't lock the closet door.

Well, Heck~! I thought I really wanted one of these, but between the higher prices from the so-called retailers (like they paid $129 for them?), add the problems showing up with zero support - now I ain't so sure...

I just got my response from VR, being that I sent them a picture strait from the box proudly displaying their stickers, a few post back, they say it is hard to tell from the picture that it is a "defect" but I can return for an exchange when they are available or a refund upon review of the item. I then replied that I would see if the finish gets worse or any different through the weekend, which I doubt it will get any better but I was "hoping" and they sent me a quote from their website quoting their return policy which has a 15% restocking fee, ...!! I am now awaiting a response from them to see if this fee is applicable with a possible defect that I brought to their attention immediately and before use!!
I can tell you with certainty that my unit does not look like the others I have seen posted. I will not waste much more time on this finish issue, it will either go back for a full exchange or refund or I'll throw a leather case on it and be done!! I would have thought that "donkey" would have chimed in by now but anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend!!

The cloudy finishes posted lately don't look like the finish on mine. Something is definitely not right. Now I am afraid to carry mine around for fear of scratching. It is my lunch time and car vape during the week.
Unless that finished changed after inspection and boxing I am not sure how/why they were shipped to customers or retailers.
Here is mine from this recent run.

Something is definitely wrong with the finish on the last batch - I have #1354 - and the engraving and the serial number are darker and yellowish (not bright white like yours), and the finish is a bit cloudy, not the rich black color I'm seeing on yours.

Edit: but then I'm seeing the same yellowish engraving and serial in other pictures, maybe the color of the engraving has nothing to do with it.

I totally agree!! I just took this picture so y'all could see that the bottom is much different than the main body!

At this point I would give Donkey a little leeway as to his lack of response. He did mention pushing back the next round of production because he was going on vacation, so he may just be out of pocket at the moment.
