Ok so it's not braking any laws, people can't smell it, unless they're actually looking at you they wouldn't know. So my local football stadium ( Cardiff city stadium) have banned them, a major pub chain in uk have banned them, a local arts place, where they have a pretty good selection of beer have banned them. Reason being, not 100% sure, but what I've read is because it looks like smoking. Plain ignorance really. Not so long ago these places aloud smoking tobacco. Go figure. vaping is being taken on board by a lot of people, but not all, smokers being the worst. Laughing and saying, 'you still on those stupid cigs'. Anyway back on subject, places banning them because they don't like to look at something that looks like smoking. I don't want to look at chavs in track suits shouting at thier fat kids, you gonna ban them too!! (Sorry not a good example but you know what I mean)

Let's face it, people hate smokers and they think we are weak people and still look at us as addicts with a nasty habit even if we are not smoking and just vaping instead. Plus, we are in the day and age where bans are running amuck. It seems like every week I hear of a new ban they are trying to push through and get passed.

If you want to look this up (not sure how to post links) a Manchester city fan was put in handcuffs, season ticket taken from him and escorted by police from the ground. Why, because he was vaping!!!!! They have returned his season ticket, after a politician got involved, but still hold firm on the ban. Reason because when they catch real smokers ( the criminals that they are, ha) they produce a e cig! Utter utter rubbish, that's probably happen once, if ever.

I heard that the stadiums in Baltimore has banned both stinkies and ecigs.

They did ban smoking, but I don't know about e-cigs. The Ravens stadium is going to make an area that is outside the stadium, but still considered inside for smokers. The Orioles already had a place that was outside the stadium, but still inside the gates for smokers. The whole thing is ridiculous. Each stadium only had like four smoking sections to begin with, and you should have sen the looks the smoking nazis gave you while you were standing there enjoying your cigarette. The ban is one of the main reasons I picked up e-cigs.

My bf was informed that one of his coworkers was vaping at an Os game, and was asked to leave. (he also started vaping because of the smoking ban)

We need to have some positive ecig commercials. The only problem those fighting us have an profetering agenda or are in a place to make influential decisions for uninformed reasons. We are just trying to go about our daily lives with as little friction as possible. It seems like its not so easy to do that these days.

It's ridiculous to ban something based on what it looks like instead of what it actually is.

Off topic but that's the same argument used to argue against bans against scary looking "assault weapons" and in more complex cases what constitutes pornography.

I live in a state where it's up to the business owner if you can vape or not, even though there is a state wide ban against *smoking* in public places, similar to those imposed in other states I'm sure. It's one of the reasons I wanted to switch to vaping! As a professional driver many companies are instituting a ban on smoking in company vehicles. None I've talked to yet object to vaping.

I *always* make a considerate, respectful inquiry before I fire up my AVP in a new establishment. Most of them have said "We don't have any sort of policy in place for that so for now at least, vape away!" If they are unsure or skeptical I might try to give them a crash course in vaping fundamentals, as it compares to smoking, but I don't press it. For the most part I vape in public the same as I used to smoke in public.

Sad but true... I fear it's only going to get worse.

I always give them a crash course, sweet and simple. I never really vape indoors but was at a public place and was vaping outside. I had just asked employees and owner if I could and they agreed after the sscc. Few minutes goes by and a lady complained about it, the employee told her exactly what I told them and she was ok with it. She even came and talked to me about it later for her step father. :toast:

we have to be patient with people. ecigs have not been around long enough and people do not really get good information on them. there are a few commercials on late tv and really not much advertising as of yet. Give it time, we will get there. I am grateful for the places I can vape and do not worry about the ones I cannot.

I had a great night out the other night at a local bar watching the game. I asked the bartender if I could vape and got his approval because he found banning them silly. I would hate to see that go.

It would be nice to be patient and let the ignorant masses adjust to the idea of vaping, but it will take a lot more work to get the bans lifted once they are in place. It will only cement the idea in place that vaping = smoking.

It's an uphill battery already, but lets not allow it to become a mountain.

I think they need to ban alcohol at stadiums. The drunks are one of the reasons I quit going to games. And speaking of that why no attack on alcohol abuse? Can you tell me the last time someone caused a fatal accident on the way home from a game because of smoking?

Not trying to be political but you can smoke (OTHER STUFF) in Cali on the street but not a cigarette. Talked with someone from there at a conference last week and he said they are starting to treat vaping like a real cigarette in some places. No vape, no tob smoke, (OTHER STUFF) smoke okay?
