I am aware many people make the "Here's my take on this vaping thing" post. I just find them so helpful I figured I make one of my own.
So, I made my first post yesterday while waiting for my 510 + PCC starter kit from cignot(dot)com to arrive. Thanks to everyone for the quick answers to my questions! I have done lots of searching on this great forum for tips/tricks, answers, mods, etc... However, there is certainly no better feeling than a coherent response to a direct query!
Yesterday afternnon, I got everything all charged and ready. Since I have two new atty's, I decided on an experiment. After I primed one atty with 555 and the other with ecopure "rich"(both just dripped on), I took my first leap.
Took a little longer than expected to rid the new atty's of the nasty, burned flavor they come with. Once satisfied I had broken them in some, the experiment began. One atty became the "stock filler" atty: I attached the included MLB HIG pre-filled cart and tried it. I was a little disappointed in how short of a time it took for the contact side of the filler to dry out and yield smaller vapes. So, I topped off the cart with 555 PG. The next vape was quite nice. I was riding the Flavor Train to Vapor Town. LOL
An extremely smooth hit with good vapor. I did have to take a monster pull to get the throat hit I craved.
The other atty has been a "drip only", using the ecopure "rich", which I assume to be a VG based juice? Is this correct?
For the first few(read: too many) drips, I was getting some really harsh, stabbing, chemically flavored vapes. MASSIVE throat hit. I don't know if the throat hit is because it's a drip, or because the atty wasn't fully cleaned of the bad-tasting primer fluid. BTW - Not a pleasant throat hit - Ouch!
UPDATE: Now, sitting in kitchen and alternating between the 555 filled MLB HIG cart and a 2 drip ecopure "rich" atty, I find them to be more similar. I can definitely taste the difference between the two. No more harshness on the dripped ecopure atty. (I also discovered a few, tiny melted indents on the unfilled ecopure cart. Maybe that's why I had a comparatively bad experience. Maybe burning plastic would affect the flavor? DUH, YA THINK?!?!?!
) I have since made sure to align the carts properly and all seems to be well. Also, due to the apparent inconsistencies with atty's, maybe it just required more "preparation".
BTW - Coffee and a vape is top notch!!!
