Mouth ulcers

45 days no cigs just vap...no ulcers...thank God...don't need any more problems!!!
My sentiments exactly, (knock wood). If I get mouth ulcers, I wouild probably try a medicated mouth wash....or RX strength...and keep vaping....for the pain I would probably try Orajel, Ambesol...or something like that. I'll be looking out for this problem and post if it occurs.

I've only been vaping for abt 30 days, I do clean the mouth ends of my carts with alcohol and the little rubbers too. I'm using 24mg PG only right now, but I have ordered some blends. I have noticed that my mouth and lips are dry, and was considering increasing my vitamin C, and fluids - as I suspect I'm using more nicotine than with analogs. FWIW

OK. Tested and successful on both myself and my daughter who wears braces and had an outbreak of at least 10 mouth sores.

Smart Mouth 12 hour mouthwash cured us both in one weekend (2-4 applications)! It gets 4.5/5 stars on Amazon, and I don't know if the other positive side effects like curing mouth sores and some sore throats (if you gargle with it) are listed.

Just started vaping a month and a half ago and now have a white sore under my tongue for 2 weeks now. My gums have been bleeding allot also. I think it is kinda weird that so many people are experiencing the same thing. I don't think it is from quiting analogs because I quit for 6 months and never had this problem.

You'd be surprised. My teeth were bleeding bad after quiting and once before I had quit without any problem for about four months. I go to the dentist every three months for perio and after 17 months my gums are in much better shape. Talk to your dentist next trip.

Nope, it's not from quitting analogs. You have toxins in your body that is causing this. Most likely culprit would be liquid nicotene. Although industrial grade PG can't be ruled out either. When nicotene is smoked in a cigarette, first of all it's not liquid.
The "liquid mist" from e-cigs goes directly into your system in a totally different manner. Case in point: I went to 0 nic and ALL adverse symptoms; mouth sores, acne, excessive thirst etc went away within days. This is NOT NORMAL.

Some of the stuff I read on this board is beyond belief. I mean if your freaking DOG was thirsty all of the time, had mouth sores where he couldn't eat and had acne sores all over him you would be concerned he was POISONED. If people post symptoms like that here...well, must be analog withdrawl. LOL What a joke. Talk to any former smoker. Never happened like what is explained here.

These are signs that your body is telling you there is something WRONG.

Only problem now my lungs feel clogged with 0 nic VG/PG. I have not been able to find the "perfect smoke" with ecigs unfortunately. No toxicity symptoms anymore, but still....Hoping I haven't done permanent damage to my lungs.

I used to get mouth ulcers a lot from hormonal imbalances and the one thing that always worked was taking L-lysine which you can get at walmart and B vitamins. And the dentist made me switch toothpaste and mouthwash I have to use this whole system called oxyfresh its ok no more ulcers while using it, I was using listerine till the dentist got onto me for smoking and using listerine and told me that I was doubling my chances for oral cancer. Used regular toothepaste on a campout recently though and I had terrible ulcers till I went back to the stuff the dentist suggested. But the L-lysine works better than anything.

lxxenigmaxxl, if you've got any concerns about your health, see a doctor rather than listening to anyone on here or links on the net for that matter. I know there is some outstanding health suggestions available here, but personally, if I were concerned about something, I'd talk to my physician or dentist.

just wanted to jump in here after experiencing one of THE most painful mouth ulcers of my life! few days before christmas, started feeling like a sore throat was coming on...2 days later, throat felt like i was swallowing razor blades. didnt feel ill otherwise though, so wondered how in the heck i could have came down with strep but not have swollen glands and/or feel like crap all over. finally got a flashlight out and took a looksee into my throat, and lo and behold there is a nasty ulcer right at the back of my mouth where my mouth meets my throat at the roof. ouch! this one little ulcer was making my whole throat SCREAM!
have been steady vaping @ around 18-24 mg for 2 months+ mostly pg, some vg, hadn't changed any of my other habits, EXCEPT i got some DIY stuff in trade from another member, and had made 4 bottles of liquid with the products sent to me the same week this Ulcer invaded my life. one of them was 50 mg Nic in a PG base, some VG for mixing, and several flavors... mixed up some cinnamon (think big red gum) mint choco chip with MCC flavoring and creme de menthe, and some Rasberry, using Rasberry flavoring (don't have the brand in front of me) only really preferred the Rasberry, so vaped on it for 2 days all day, then BAM, here somes this nasty ulcer. the ONLY one i have experienced since I started vaping, and since stopping that juice and gargling some salt water, i am happy to report it is gone as quickly as it came Thank DOG.
Dunno if it is related to the flavoring i used or not, but I for one am not taking a chance on that occuring again if i can help it. Rasberry is in the trash!
(my good friend heavily vaped on the Cinnamon for several days with no ill effects, so I am not considering the other parts of the mix to be a contributing factor at this point, just the flavoring i used in the Rasberry, as far as i can tell....)

JMO on this subject, just happened upon this thread when looking for other instances of similar side effects of flavorings.

I've been reading a lot about what other people are posting about mouth ulcers, and I have to agree with RyMel. Only for me it was Strawberry.

I vaped a lot of it when it first arrived and got a sore in my mouth. Stopped using it for a while and it healed up and went away. Didn't make the connection until I picked it up again a few weeks later, and low and behold I got another one within 24 hours!

So I have put it away. **Sigh**

I do think that it is the flavoring that causes the ulcers. It may be a specific flavor group (ie: fruits), or maybe a certain brand. It may be that I am more sensitive to certain flavoring than others.

I have 2 other flavors of ejuice from the same supplier and have had no problems. I use pg, pg/vg, and vg all with no problems.

If I had more strawberry flavored ejuices from different suppliers perhaps I could do some testing and then I would know. But I don't have money to test that theory out.

The Strawberry flavor was quite strong, so one day when I have nothing to do, I am going to dilute it with VG and see if that will make a difference.

It's a pity too - I really liked the Strawberry flavor.

That would be awful if you couldn't do any vendor's strawberry. That happens to my favorite vape. When I vaped a lot, I was almost exclusively strawberry once I found it.

You might want to contact your vendor, explain your issue and see if you could find out who's flavoring they're using. If you find that out, you could look around for someone that uses someone else's flavors. Just an idea.

Have anyone who has suffered from these ulcers ate anything that would be high in acid? Examples: tomatoes, oranges, grapefruit, coffee, tea, and along those lines. Tomatoes will do this to me.

I haven't experienced any ulcers but my guess is either the flavorings you are using or the PG. PG causes alot of problems in many people.

Dentist told me to rinse my mouth in peroxide when I get them. They really hurt for about 3-4 days but simmer down and are gone in about a week. 10 days if I don't use peroxide. I also saturate a cottonball with peroxide and put it right on the ulcer and that seems to shorten the length I have it. Dentist told me that they are caused by high acid intake and/or and acid disruption in the mouth.

I am a bit afraid thinking this product could cause ulcers - that doesn't sound healthy at all.

Anyone have any thoughts on this issue? Did it happen to you to? If so did they finally cease?

A mouth ulcer is essentially just an open wound in your mouth. They can be caused by all sorts of things and are fairly common.

You seem to have noticed a connection with ulcers and vaping and this could definitely be the problem, I won't tell you that it must be something else because vaping is perfect.

Just keep this in mind, might not apply since you were such a light smoker -

Smoking Cessation
It is fairly common for smokers to experience multiple mouth ulcers within a week of cessation. The duration varies between individuals, and can range from a month to years. Oral nicotine supplements have shown some reduction in the occurrence.[8][9]

Could be from the heat of the vapour, maybe a speck of hot juice getting in your mouth somehow? Maybe it's the flavorings, or PG/VG, could be from the attys you are using.

You have to rule all the possibilities out one by one. Maybe start by trying a different manufactures juice? If you're vaping fruit flavours maybe try something different. If you're using a LR atty try using a regular. Try taking shorter drags. I could go on and on and on. Maybe someone else with a similar experience figured it out and could point you in the right direction.

You might also want to try having a glass of water nearby to sip on while you're vaping. PG/VG seems to dry out the mouth which would be good conditions for the ulcer to flurish I'd guess.

Good luck! Let us know how you go so if others have this problem they can search up your thread.

Aunt Cranky, I think I have had the same experience. It seems to me some juices do it and others don't. And I have also hada corellation with apple flavored liquids. I have a horrible case of them now, but maybe I will lose weight!!

I found that I got the mouth ulcers with some e-juice but not others. Some of the flavored juice really caused me trouble, so I switched vendors. I have not had an analog since February and could not be happier, but you may want to experiment with different liquids to see if you might have an allergic reaction to VG or PG, and some of the flavoring compounds that are used.

I also make sure I drink a LOT of water (VG really dries out my mouth and throat) when I'm heavy vaping (like when I'm gaming in front of the PC for hours on end).

the tingling/burning sounds like your getting liquid in/on your mouth. thats what that feels like exactly.
and the dry throat is from the PG in the liquid. verrry drying stuff. i keep a drink handy from the time i get out of bed til i get back in it, keeps the dry sore throat at bay. VG liquid isnt as harsh on the throat. might wanna up the amount of VG versus PG in your liquids if it's bothersome?

BTW- the liquid i used that gave me the horrible mouth ulcer was a "flavor west" brand of rasberry...
