I loved the MVP and while I know the Provari owners out there will say it is far better 9and I am sure it probably is) for me the price difference could not justify the difference in Vape quality. I have moved on from the MVP primarily because I found Kayuns and they just look and perform so well on Mechanical mods. I do have several DNA20 mods on the way which like the provari are a step up from the MVP. I had a vamo and for me the MVP out performed it. I would try looking into different Atty's first (do not know what you use). This would be where you might find a big jump in performance.

I moved from an Evic to a VTR and love it. The VTR is a little too heavy to carry around all day, so I will use the Evic when out running about town. The VTR is such a good form factor for around the house, in the truck, out for a drink or two, etc. The VTR seems to product a stronger vape at the same setting vs the Evic. Must have something to do with the way the voltage is regulated.

My MVP came with an iClear 30 which I do really like, so I have just continued to use those. But I've heard a lot about protanks and that they are fantastic. Is there anything you guys could recomend for my MVP?

Edit: I have also noticed that the iClear goes through juice REALLY fast, does it really change with each tank? I would like a tank that doesn't run out of juice as quickly.

If something is producing more vapor and flavor, it is going to use more juice.

Check out those 16 wicks that the iclear has - just getting them wet must take a mil of juice or so.

Different tanks do use juice at different rates, but I stopped worrying about that a while back. For me, an extra mil of juice or is no big deal.

Just so long as I am getting a vape that satisfies me enough to keep me away from tobacco.

I own two Provari's and a MVP-V1. I also own two other Chinese-made variable voltage mods. The Provari's IMHO provide a better vape from them.

I knew very little about the MVP before acquiring one. I had noticed that a LOT of customers and the sales staff of my local B&M were using them and wondered why they seemed to be so popular. Then I won an MVP in a raffle at this B&M. I was rather surprised that the MVP's vape experience was VERY SIMILAR to my Provari's, but didn't know why until I read this interesting thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/488840-rattlesnake-effect-why-cheapo-vv-exception-itaste-mvp-dont-vape-same-provari-dna20d.html

It appears that the MVP is one of the very few Chinese-made mods that uses a PWM (pulse width modulation) cycle similar to the Provari and other high-end mods. My question had been answered.

As far as another regulated mod, I don't think you'll get a better vape experience than your current MVP. The only downside I see is the unknown life expectancy of the built-in battery of the MVP, and that at this point is not replaceable. I think the best improvement you would find is to experiment with other juice delivery attachments. I personally prefer the Innokin iClear 16 & 30 clearomizers on the MVP. Dual-coiled and 16 wicks makes for a great vape from a clearomizer. Consider cartotanks or an RBA/RDA, too.

A Provari is for someone who is looking for a long-term APV. It's built to be durable and reliable, and should it ever require repair it can be sent to Provape and be returned good as new within only a few days time for as long as you own it. This is an often over-looked benefit of owning a Provari. China manufacturers do not do repairs for their mods, they expect you to buy another one. Most Chinese-made mods rarely last to see their first birthday; once they need a repair you can consider them to be a throw-away.

I don't think people would consider the Vamo in the same tier as a ProVari. It is similar to the MVP imo.

What are you looking to improve on? I went from VV/VW mods to mechanicals. If you don't want to go the mech route, I would say try a VTR, or something similar. There is also the REO's that I don't know much about.

The Itaste MVP is in the class of a Provari in terms of Vape Quality it is different then the Vamos which uses a 33.3hz chip and doesn't have efficient filters.

The Vamos uses a 33.3 hz chip and PWM.
The Provari outputs a flat DC Voltage
The Mvp also Outputs a flat DC Voltage.

This thread explains the difference.

This post has really got me to thinking/rethinking my next move. I was planning on upgrading to a ProVari mid December, and then down the road picking up some more/different tanks and maybe some cartotanks too. After reading this and how good the MVP2 is, maybe I should just go for the tanks and what not and then move on to a ProVari down the road.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.........Thanks for the great information in this thread, it really gives someone something to think about.

I used to have an MVP and have nothing but good things to say about it. I ended up selling it to a buddy because I needed some cash quick. I have also found it is easier to convert someone new to vaping recommending an MVP because they look nice and you don't have the hassle and additional cost of getting batteries, a charger, etc. I have talked a few of my friends into getting an MVP and they all love them. I did discover something interesting though, I found out I am not a big fan of box style mods. No idea why, I guess I just prefer the tubular style. I am glad I found this out now, because I had planned on rewarding myself down the road with a more expensive mod and had given serious thought to the Reo Grand. Knowing what I know now I think I will get myself a Provari instead. I have heard great things about them.

Either route sounds good.
I have a Provari in my collection, I consider it to be my "Trusty Provari" it will be there when all other devices fail!!

But it gathers dust because I'm a bottom feeding fool! Also I like Box mods and prefer the long battery life and the form factor of the MVP to that of the Provari.

In arguably the Provari is much higher quality then the MVP in terms of durability. But in terms of Bang for the Buck I think the MVP is the best APV in the market.

Instead of a Provari, you might take a look at bottom feeders, and Mechanicals with RBA.

As much as I like the look of the Mechanical's and the RBA, I don't really think they are anything I want. At least not right now, I have to tinker with enough small aggravating things at work. I kind of want my vaporizer to just work.:p If that means a little added expense of buying coils or what have you at this point in time I am fine with that. Maybe down the road that might become a option but as of right now, I don't think they are for me.

vamos are great because they are cheap,,,,,,,but if they break, buy another.

Provaris are great because you can't kill the things (Ok maybe that lawnmower really messed it up, but you should have seen the lawn mower~!) and if you do injure the thing, send it in for fixing and it;'s back in your mailbox in a week for a reasonable amount,,,,,,,,but they cost dearly.

MVPs are great because they last forever,,,,,,,,,,,,but when the battery stops holding a charge, toss them away, there's no way to change the battery.

Whatever works for you.

Good thought process.

I use my Provari's and MVP equally. I can change my multiple tank flavors easily. They work equally well for home and away. One day my MVP will die, but my Provari's will live as long as I want them to.

I've tried a bottom feeder mod. They are nice if you have an All Day Vape flavor, not so great if you like to switch out flavors throughout the day.

I've tried RBA's. They can provide incredible vapor production and (IMO) flavor comparable to my cartotanks. But mine are very fussy and require frequent tinkering. I hate tinkering, I just want to vape and not have to mess. They are also basically for home use, as Genesis-style RBA's leak if not kept upright. RDA's require also carrying a bottle of juice everywhere you go.

I'm a simple vapor. I just want to vape. A better quality clearomizer and cartotank provide me with great flavor and vapor. They are dependable, consistant, and maintanance free. They can be used for both home and away. This is what works best for me.

You are right about Bottom Feeding switching flavors on the fly, but this neg is outweighed by the ability to use it anywhere. I like to "Squonk and Drive". Flavor of dripping with the convenience of a tank.

I beg to differ on the RBA are "Fussy and Requiring Tinkering" now you did qualify it with a "my" so I'm letting you off the hook. In my opinion you just haven't encountered the right RBA and Wicking.

I'm going to qualify myself with a my also
My experience is the opposite. I build it or have it built with Eko Wool or FC-2000 Porous Ceramic wick and they last months without any tinkering.
Just a dry burn here or there.

To me the flavor of any pre-built Cartomizer, Clearomizer Atomizer just doesn't taste as good as dripping on a RBA or RBA Bottom Feeder.

I'm not a fan of the Genesis tanks also, they are sloppy, and inferior to Dripping because you can't immediately control the saturation of the wick.

I own both a Provari and an MVP. I got the Provari first and have loved it since the day I got it. I picked up the MVP recently because it was an inexpensive backup with a very good reputation. I love it nearly as much as my Provari. The vape quality is.... just as good. Really. I know it won't last forever, but while it lasts I'll enjoy it.
