Moving to Protank from Ego-T. Is the Provari overkill?

Thank you everybody for all of the input. This is why I love this board. I would have given up on ecigs three years ago if not for this site. I have decided to roll with the Provari, on the grounds that I know me... I will start tinkering and playing with other tanks\attys\vapors and the Provari offers me the flexibility to do so. Yes, the Provari will have little impact on the performance of the Protank (which I now understand, thanks to you guys), but to get where I want to be, a variable voltage device has to happen.

Yes, the Provari is a Cadillac and it was a hard call, but I'm comfortable that I will not regret it. The truth is that the Protank is my first "real tank". The Ego-T "tank system", does not really count (at least not to me).

In others words, I think I'm about to become a modder...

Thank you all!!

Just a thought for you to ponder, being you state that you know you are going to get to the point that you tinker. Ever consider getting a decent mechanical mod and use a Kick? It would give you quite a few options down the road... Variable wattage capability and mech reliability. Gives you a platform if you decide to go the RBA/RDA route...and still come out cheaper. A K100 and a Kick, would come in well under $100.. plus whatever batteries and charger you decide on.... like I said, . Just something to ponder.

I am still using my ego t & c batteries, and I am using the original pro-tank right now, with my egos, it produces a decent vape, it does not do as good as my provari, or even my e-vic, but out and about, I still use my ego's. Last weekend, I got the mini pro-tank, and it's using the same coils as the regular pro-tank, the vape is the same. Now the mini is easier to use with ego batteries, for carrying around, but if you want a vape that is a vast improvement over a ego, get the provari, just realize that it is a lot heavier than a ego to have in your pocket.

I really considered that route, but decided slow my roll down mod lane a bit. I can get a bit compulsive, and don't want to get TOO carried away... :)

Slowing your roll and buying a Provari shouldn't be allowed in the same conversation....I thought my suggestion would have been slowing your roll...hehe:D

I congratulate you nosmokie, vaping as long as you have and not given in to all the "toys" out there.

I however, at my six month point in vaping decided to reward myself and bought my first Provari. I have no regrets.

I have a Vamo (constantly have to fiddle with the connection as the delivery devices push it down ALL the time. Not to mention the choo choo train sound when using certain toppers.) I mainly use the Vamo as a Ω checking device.

I have a Zmax mini which I recently purchased from a group buy and I love it, it performs well but it is my out and about device. If I lose it, or drop it, I will be sad but it won't break the bank.

I have a few cheap China mech mods which I use to prepare and set up my Genny's, but when it comes to a consistent quality vape - it is always the Provari with either a genny or a carto tank.
