:) Not Wader sir's fault, China is having issues... I'm sure Leaford sir can back me up on that one Ms. Star.

I've tried the batt, prefer the king diamonds, but I think it would only be right to give others a chance to try one to see what they think. Everyone has their preferences, but my view is they can't judge anything until they've tried it for themselves...

Exactly. I have a son-in-law and daughter who prefer the riv4l batteries. Another son-in-law and myself prefer the bloog batteries.

Go figure. We split down the middle. But we all agree the bloog cartos are vastly superior :p

Now where have we heard that before?:glare: Oh yeah I forgot... sweeping tombs.

I really liked the look of the diamonds, and they were supposed to act like these, but both of them croaked after less than 2 months. I was sad. But I'm glad you are having better luck with them.

So I brought my Mac to the forefront today. I had been using a Dell laptop hooked up to a 24" monitor & keyboard & mouse and the MacBook sat to the side doing little more than charge/sync the iPhone and charge batteries. But that's a really expensive charging station. So I spent the day getting a USB hub, a wireless keyboard, and a new set of speakers and got everything all hooked up. Its taking a little getting used to... I can use the Dell with my eyes closed, so now I have to refamiliarize myself with the Mac way of doing things. Keyboard is a little weird, tiny thing, but hopefully it will seem normal after awhile.

I am quickly seeing some of its limitations. Pogo doesn't like Macs (game site I like). Still need my PC for Quicken, because as with most software it is optimized for PC and the Mac version is more of an afterthought. And my mouse isn't as precise, which surprises me. I've tried 3 different ones, including their Magic Mouse. But I'm going to stick with it for awhile longer to give it a fair trial before sinking money into a new PC.

What I do like about Mac isn't hardware related so much as how intuitive the system is... it knows what I want to do before I do. Its like 'here let me do that for you, you go sit and have some tea". Starts up fast, shuts down fast. None of that can be said for my Dell.
The other reason I stuck with the Dell so long was because I could use it to connect to work thru VPN. But now they don't allow you to use your own equipment, and sent me home with some piece of @#$* one of theirs to use.

I don't particularly like the Dell's....Have them, but don't really care much for them...I love the one my step-son built for himself, but even it is getting old now....I miss Gateway.....that was the best experience I have ever had with a computer company...and unlike Dell...they didn't want me to pay for their customer service after 1 month...:grr:

Never owned a Mac, but have an Uncle who will never own anything else...course he is into graphic design and such, but they really arent game friendly......You just can't win one way or the other:(

Never had a Gateway, or an Acer, but did buy an HP Pavillion once. Worse PC I've ever had, replaced it within a year. Only went with Dell because I get a discount thru work since that's what they use.

I really wanted to love my Mac and had hoped they had become more compatible with everything (or I should say that everything had become compatible with them) but that doesn't seem to be the case. Bummer. Guess I'll have to learn Windows 7 now. :(

star, you can adjust the mouse settings on a Mac very easily.

Here: Mac 101: Set your preferences

My PC is a Gateway, but I uninstalled all the crap they pre-install. I only bought it because it was a killer deal for the hardware involved; otherwise I don't really care what brand, as long as I can read a list of the components and know exactly what they're selling me -- otherwise I just build it.

I use a Mac for work because they feel I should have one as a Design/Web Guy. Otherwise, I would never own one. To me it is just overpriced hardware and the OS isn't all that.

Star, I hate it when the computer does things for me. In my opinion it is there to take my orders when I give them and to do nothing more. I actually get really annoyed when the computer or an application or aspect of the OS decides to do something in my best interests, when I know better.

Anyway, I'm with Morandir. My home system is a computer I built piece by piece. Thing runs like a champ after 4 years and runs anything I throw at it. Not one virus or hardware failure. And I built it for way less than you could have gotten a similar system built anywhere.
