don't know if you ever heard the "todd" album, but a few years ago, todd played that and "healing" in their entirety as a show. they're out on dvd, with 3 hours of and interview with roy firestone that is awesome split on the 2 dvds. "todd" is missing, from side 4, theme from shaft (formerly in and out of chakras we go), which is the tidbit in the intro:

Honestly, the only thing I use them for is for testing juices out, they are easier to build depending on the size of the RBA, I have one which is a Phoenix Clones and that darn this is about as small coil wise as evods. But the fact is that you get a better flavor hit and I don't really care to keep sitting there dripping.

I'm sure I'd end up with juice all over. Even more than I do now. Lol

Mowgli, I would suspect that the coils might be wrapped to tight before too loose. I've wrapped some pretty loose coils and they never tasted burnt yet. The coils should just be touching the silica.

Burnt flavor usually indicates a hot spot or there isn't enough juice on the coils. You might try dry burning your coils for just a second or 2 to make sure you aren't getting a hot spot. When you fire it it should start glowing from the inner most coils and then spread out to the outer coils. Start at a low voltage though. Nothing over 3.0V for a 1.3 ohm coil. You also might want to wrap another to get upwards of 2.0 ohms until you get this sorted out, say a 7/8 or 8/9 wrap, maybe?

Don't give up yet, though. The hawk sauce is terrific dripped on an IGO.

Thanks all y'all!

I rewatched that video and wrapped a better coil.
It still doesn't hit as fast as an evod but once it gets going wow.

AHhhhhhhhhh that's better...

I have not, in fact! That's on the list too. I'm researching like a fiend, cause I'll have to pull the trigger on one pretty soon now. Well, not *have* to, but it's one of those options or more halo batteries, so a bigger mod will serve me better in the long run. Halo is great for when I'm out and about, but truth be told, I'm not out and about much, and I tend to chain vape at night, so I'm sick of running back and forth to chargers.

I was going to point out that the Itaste is only 800mah, but it's got pass through capability so as long as you got a USB plug within the appropriate distance you're good. I like my Vamos with 2900 and 2000mah batteries. 6 18650s and 2 Vamos so I definitely don't have to worry about any downtime. Wish I could say that about my VV eGos, but well not having 5 devices each with their own flavor 100% of the time is no biggy. Lately I've been finding myself vaping mostly 2-3 flavors throughout the day anyway. I've been vaping Moo Juice 90% of the time tonight because it's just so yummy.

I want a new toy too! I have a zmax mini, and a SiD and a handful of egos. Wanna move up in the Vape world. Lol I'm just not mechanically inclined enough for some of the fancy ones.

I'm very happy with the Halo G6s for what they were designed to do- transition a smoker to an ex smoker. They were absolutely what I needed when I started out, and even something like an ego would have made me go "nah, forget it." My mom still uses only Halo gear because it's the only stuff she can carry around at work - she works for a school system, so huge or odd looking mods aren't going to cut it for her, and could get her in trouble with those who don't understand what vaping is... so I needed the "looks like a cigarette, feels like a cigarette" thing, and she needed that plus the "won't be pulled into odd meetings at work if someone sees it" factor. And I suspect mom will keep right at it with the Halos... they work for her.

But as Ive said before on this thread, I'm a techno nut, I love to fiddle with my gear and upgrade when finances allow... and I've already told her I want no birthday gifts this year, cause I'm buying myself a good mod and a lot of juice. I have a feeling that by Christmas break, she may want an ego of her own for messing around at home, but that's further down the path (we need to get her nic strength sorted, too).

The main thing causing me to hesitate wrt both the itaste 3.0 and the vision spinners is power...I'll never be able to afford something like a provari, but I need something with similar features, durability and reliability. the MVP2 has the button issue, of course. And all of that is why it's so difficult to decide.

I have no issue with egos - that's why the vision spinner is on the list. :) I don't think I can go with an actual ego-C, just because the numbers are harder to see than on the vision spinner and the dial is a little harder to turn... turning motions are hardest on my hands thanks to rheumatoid arthritis. I've had an opportunity to handle both, and the vision spinner was much easier for me to manipulate... and it's basically an ego under a different name. I was planning on just getting a vision spinner kit for a long while, but then I started looking into variable wattage and realizing that I'd really prefer one that does VV/VW/reads ohms, and is a little easier for me to adjust, since that twisting motion is difficult for me period. So that's why they itaste mvp 2 and the itaste 3.0 are on the list.

As far as cigalikes, Halo g6s really are amazing quality and quite cheap. I'm planning on picking up a few more batteries and a few more mini tanks for mom, and I'm not remotely bothered by that idea (vs. pushing her toward VV)... they really do work well for a "grab and go" system.

(edited to add): Regarding why egos would have turned me off at the very beginning - the same reason I think they turn a lot of people off who are just getting started... I wanted something that felt as much like a cigarette as possible, so that it didn't feel like I was picking up a *different* habit instead of replacing an old habit. Vaping isn't smoking, of course, and I knew that, but I needed that psychological crutch of having it feel and look the same in my hand for the first two weeks or so. I knew that if I had the choice between picking up an ego and grabbing a smoke, I'd go for the smoke, whereas if it was a choice between a cigalike and a smoke, yeah, why not the cigalike, cause I can puff on that inside.

I think that's why veterans need to be a little careful about recommending newbies jump straight to egos... I'm not saying they *shouldn't* be recommended, but I think they should be recommended with the caveat that some people really do need to "waste" a little money starting on a cig-a-like to get their sea legs before they jump to the equipment that truly is better suited for vaping. Even on my very limited income, I don't at all regret starting with the G6. It's what I needed at the time, and it's still useful when I need to stick something in my pocket and go.

Good morning Uno and MBV. Happy Tuesday :)

Guess I should have asked this here a couple weeks ago...

What percentage of flavoring did you use mixing your Hawk? Think I did 16% compensating for +2 shots. Did yours come out just like theirs? Was going to try my mix this weekend, just been wondering a little this whole time if it need some EM....
I mix my Hawk Sauce at 12%, but I'm a 50/50 vaper and I rarely order flavor shots. My Hawk Sauce DIY does taste just like the MBV juice, at least to me :) I haven't tried adding any sweetener, but I'm sure our palates differ. If you think you need sweetener, try it for a small batch...it couldn't hurt anything :thumb:

Thanks for the reply, you put my mind at ease ;) the percentage I used should hit it just right for what would be a +2 shot mix. I don't add any sweeteners to my MBV juices that are ordered, I also have never used one of their DIY flavorings and wondered if it was in fact the "complete" flavoring cocktail, that is kind of where the EM thought came from. Looking forward to trying it this weekend :)

Good luck with it :thumb: Mowgli also has some good mixing tips if you need another brain to pick.
