Whoo-hoo, congrats on your coils, Mia! Sorry MBV doesn't play well with your reos, though. And thanks for the birthday wishes! I thought at one point it would stop feeling weird to be older than anybody I wasn't related to, but nope, still weird.

I was 2 1/2 years ahead of everyone all through school, so all of my friends were always older than me... nowadays, it's only about half and half.
Thanks, Sam! I shoveled out my external HD and got most of it downloaded, but I haven't had a chance to listen yet, between doc appointments and some deadlines. Hoping to indulge myself tonight. And thanks for the JFK offer; I know all about the "when I can afford postage" proviso (a friend of mine in Newfoundland is still waiting for a package I promised her months ago, cause I haven't had *both* the money *and* the energy at the same time), so if you think of it, and you want to, and it wouldn't cut into your time, energy and finances too much, the offer is gratefully accepted... but don't put yourself out for me. I'm fine with "whenever, if ever."
Thanks, mcol! I'd offer to swap you, but I doubt you'd like it... takes 17 medications every morning just to be able to move, breathe and be in *tolerable* pain. Sometimes, I can achieve all three of those *at the same time.* An event as rare as a lunar eclipse, but it does happen. I am *extraordinarily* lucky to be here at all, however, considering I was born almost 5 months premature, so I have never and will never mind getting older... it's a privilege too many of my friends haven't had. (When you're born disabled, if you're lucky, your parents will do the smart thing and allow you to socialize with both disabled and non disabled peers. The flip side of having that mixed social circle is you end up going to a lot of funerals before you get anywhere near adulthood, because half of your friends are disabled, and some of those kids have progressive diseases, or other complications, or die on the operating table, etc.) So I'm always pleased and a little amazed when I make it through another year.
Aww, thanks roonies! Hugs back at ya. Let us know what you DIY, if you do!
