Morning, everyone. Rainy and cold here, so moving around isn't on the agenda for me today. Stay safe, all those under tornado watch. Georgia gets a few large ones a year, so I know the wait and watch game well. Always took them in stride till one time when I figured I'd hop in the shower before the storm got any worse (before the watch went into effect)... in the time it took me to shower and get out, it sounded like a fully loaded freight train was passing directly over my head, and all I could think was, "Please, please, please, just don't let me wind up buck naked in the neighbor's yard."
Afterward, when we went outside to doublecheck for damage, we discovered that one tornado had traveled down the street that runs perpendicular to ours, and simultaneously another tornado had traveled down the street that runs perpendicular to ours on the other side. (We assumed that it was one tornado that had jumped, but the meteorologists went nuts over it, cause nope... two tornadoes.) Most of the houses on those streets were heavily damaged. The little strip of road we live on, five houses on either side of the street? Untouched. Very weird.
I don't shower during storms anymore.
