Does anyone here rebulid Protank coils with cotton? I have tried and it floods every time! I always use cotton in my dripper and I put enough cotton on the protank head where it will slide easily like in my dripper cause I know it expands with the juice and you don't want it too tight cause it could choke the coil. What am I doing wrong?

I've never rebuilt coils, but I've had a hell of a time cleaning and dry burning my PT2. The flavor wick almost always needed to be replaced. I tried cotton, but I SUCKED at it; they always flooded and/or leaked. I had a flash of genius and grabbed an old iclear 30 I kept that had a dead coil (ok, I have hoarding tendencies) and cut off one of the wicks, put it in the PT2 in place of the flavor wick and trimmed it with cuticle scissors. Voila! A perfectly working PT2!

Funny..I've not wanted an analog since I bought my first ego. Still have that same half pack of Djarum cloves sitting in the cupboard. I've been so thoroughly satisfied with vaping (especially since going to RDAs) and the endless variety of flavors that it never occurs to me to smoke.

Curt.

Took me several months actually (from around March till July I believe) before I actually craved stinkies.
Not so much stinkies but smoke smell, burning paper kind of thing.
Weird.
Had something to do with dropping nic and changing flavors around the same time I'm sure.

I don't use cotton to rebuild but it just sounds like you need more wick in there. Maybe try using silica for your flavor wicks?

Ok my friends, confession time.
I smoked an analog last night. First one I've had since July 4th. Was pretty close to the end of the night after being out bar-hopping all evening. I feel really bad about it, it seems like I've come such a long way to break my streak now.

Dude, as has probably already been stated by others, cut yourself some slack here! You had 1 cigarette at a place where it's going to be the most difficult place NOT to smoke, I know that when I drink/drank whatever, I smoked probably twice as much as I normally would not drinking. It's just one of those things that we pretty much ingrained in ourselves that when we drink we need to smoke and more then normal, so you having one near the end, hell man, could have been worse, that type of environment isn't one in which we go and make the soundest of judgements in anything, much less 1 cigarette, so in that aspect, I salute you for one having the 1:toast: oh and no smoking after that little toast there! :p

Hey, cool, I can post here. I really thought I couldn't yet. Awesome.

I thought I'd see what was going on here on the recommendation of mcol (thanks!)

I just ordered a few flavors from MBV. 3 of their standard flavors (uhhh ecto cooler, berry creamy and cucumber mint) and tried my hand at some DIY combinations. It's the one time I've been thankful for my lack of fund because, at a certain point, you just cannot buy anymore and I don't think I could stop myself if it weren't for that red line creeping ever closer on my virtual wallet.

I've been off of cigarettes entirely for over a year and using cigalikes for even longer. Just switched to a real PV, like literally just, and am like a kid in a candy store. Instantly obsessed. I'm one of the lucky ones in that my transition to PV was really easy, I always hated the actual tobacco and smoke part of smoking and I didn't smoke long enough to start using tobacco heavily. If I smoked more than half a pack a day I felt physically ill. So I'm also one of the unlucky ones in that my transition to PV was really easy haha. Truth is, I like it better. Trying to keep my nicotine intake from going up, haha. But I guess it's a small price to pay for the lung-frying and carcinogen-spewing combustion effect of analogs.

Anyway...anyone tried any of the above flavors? I'm worried about steeping, mostly that I won't be able to wait long enough haha. I'm sticking with small bottles until I find what really works for me but I'm afraid I'll get impatient and use it before it steeps so can anyone recommend any flavors that are good fairly fresh so I can have something to keep me occupied until then?

I rebuild both the Protank and Evods with cotton, well they are the same coils, but when I go to put the cotton through the coil, I take the cotton and twist it tight until after I pull it through the coil, then fluff it out, I also do add a bit on top like the flavor wick. I hope you understand what I mean with the cotton.

Welcome, @poetic_injustices.
I haven't tried any of those flavors, but you will find many suggestions here for great flavors. Sounds like your tastes run different than mine (I'm pretty sure most peoples' tastes do), but just remember not to judge a flavor until it has steeped.

Curt.

Most fruit flavors can be vaped right out of the mail. Most other MBV flavors need at least some steeping. Find a post on this thread by Seanchai, click on his sigline. It gives some really good info on how to speed up the steeping process. Sorry but I havn't tried any of those flavors.

Welcome to the thread and feel free to chime in with questions anytime. You will get better and more
accurate responses here. I order my juice a month ahead of time, so I really don't know how much time
certain flavors need before they're good to go. Tobacco juices I try to order two months ahead. I know
the simple and fruit flavors don't need as much time as other more complex juices do.

yes. How low is the coil in the cup. The coil's bottom wraps should be a tad below the cup. Also what diameter of coil are you going with? And are you using any extra cotton as a flavor wick?

It gives some really good info on how to speed up the steeping process

This is what I wanted to hear, THANK YOU!

@ch1naski
Yeeeeah I know all about the steeping (read: whiney voice). Unfortunately.

@mcol
I plan to buy in advance in future endeavors and had I known a month or even a week before I did that I was finally going to get my act together and get a REAL PV, I would've. I had been wanting one but it wasn't until my last 2 batteries lost most of their function within a day or each other that I finally decided to suck it up and invest in something better. Now that I did, I'm like a crazy person. Do you guys often find that your nicotine intake goes UP with vaping? And moreover, that your financial expenditures do as well the more you realize how AWESOME and interesting? It's like the freakin' Wonka Factory! In theory, vaping should SAVE a person money. No one warned that, in practice, you can break the bank over vaping :)

Everyone is just so nice here, haha, I feel like a total geek saying it over and over but everyone here has just been AWESOME at enabling my ever-snowballing obsession with vaping.

uh huh, you weren't crazy before...:glare:

:p

DIY can help in a fix, or get a bottle of flavorings for you favorite juices. then add a little to each tank until it steeps.

you can vape yourself into a coma at first, but hopefully, at least you won't be wanting a cigarette.

if you're considering hardware, ask here to. some of us are really broke, so we search and search for the best prices.

oh, and i think you have to send everyone some juice! ;)

MVP2s seem pretty popular here, 101 vape has 'em pretty cheap:

Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape

and let us know when that whole "saving money" happens, eh? :?:
