i know i do. one time i accompanied a friend on a business trip to Scranton, PA and we were having lunch in a restaurant there. one of the servers spotted me and came over to our table. she started talking to me as if she had known me for years. At first I thought she was just a friendly person, until she began asking personal type questions. “Are you still going with Brad?” “Do you still work at Blank & Blank? I am so glad to be out of there.”

then she announced that her boyfriend was in jail and she had lost custody of the kids to her ex-husband blah blah blah. I feigned shock and displeasure at this news.

Ok so I should have told her straight away, “Look lady, you have me mistaken for someone else.” But I didn’t. She was just so sure I was this person, I felt embarrassed for her and so I just answered her questions to the best of my ability had I actually been the person she thought I was! During this awkward encounter, my friend left the table to pay the check and met me a few minutes later outside.

He asked me “Who the hell was that?” and I replied I had no freaking idea. He laughed and said “Well, she sure knew you!” I told him no, she thought she knew me, and I didn’t have the heart to embarrass her….the poor thing.
I’m sure if you are like me, you occasionally have people “recognize” you in line at the grocery store or other places. Sometimes I think I should know who they are, sometimes I haven’t a clue. But I am always polite and never tell them to get lost. That’s just me.

so glad to hear you tell me you are like that:) been readin in here for quite some time and You do seem like a very kind soul. I have had some old class mates (like HS) that have started talikin to me like it was yesterday and even after they tell me their name I can't for the life of me remember who they are:blink: but like you I kinda agree with what they are sayin and wish them the best and go on my way:)
Oh and nice meetin ya;)

Funny Kelli. I'm from Scranton :p but only lived there as a baby.
Back when I was in high school with a shaved head, people swore I had a doppelganger. I wanted to go to where the supposed twin worked to see for myself, but never did.
The world cannot handle two of me LOL
I remember visiting family in Scranton as a kid and being sent out to the back yard to play. The yard was on a hill so steep we thought we were going to fall off.
