Omce I get good at DIY I really don't think I will be saving money..the simple fact is the money I won't be spending on juice I will probably getting anything shiny that catches my eye! LOL

I don't know if this will help you or not - my biggest incentive for not spending money is that it's not there to spend  - but there's so much shiny out there that I desperately want, so I make myself watch youtube reviews on it for a month before I make any purchasing decisions (I do this with board games, too - anything discretionary). Usually by the end of that time, I'm sick of seeing it or I've found something about it that annoys me, so I realize I didn't want it that much after all. In the rare event that I *still* want it, only then do I pull the trigger on it.

I even did this with my MVP, which I desperately needed at the time (Egos and 808s weren't cutting it, and going back to smoking wasn't an option)... it was rough, but the end result was I got something I'm incredibly happy with and don't regret at all.

Juice is hard to do that with because no one can demonstrate what they're tasting... so the best I can do there is set a firm budget every month and when it's gone, it's gone, whatever I got is what I'm vaping for a little while.

Be careful with that one. I know there's a whole day and night's worth of posts between yours and my reply but had to tell you this. I got an email yesterday saying there was a failed attempt of delivery to Walmart for me. I did not order anything from them!! When I clicked on the link provided it took me to a nonexistent site. I did use my regular credit card in there on the 24th so I hope it isn't a CC hack. I'm going to check later. Too much of a coincidence that we both would get notices like that and didn't order anything....means it must have happened to many others too. dang!!

Mine too, however I did see that I've got 4 notices of failed delivery from Walmart, 3 from BestBuy and 1 from Costco and Cargo.com. Must be getting old 'cuz I don't member ordering anything from them. All I gotta do is fill out a form and I might even get some free stuff, ya think? :spam::spam::spam:

Good Mornin roonies :) They are typical phishing sites. with so many folks ordering online it's a numbers game that can work for them. You may know, but some people probably don't, that if you hold your curser over the link, you should be able to see the true address that the link will take you to. Most of the time it isn't where you think it is. :( and you've now either got a nasty case of malware or are the subject of identity theft. Pretty sad!

I don't live near a reservation and I can't roll my own, so making vaping cheaper than smoking is much easier for me. I've just got my MVP, a couple of Egos and a couple of 808s... so I'm only in for about $120 in gear, including tanks and coils. I'm going to pick up another MVP when I get my tax return, but that's all I really need... figure in a couple RDAs somewhere along the way and I'll be good for quite a while. I'm pretty much at the point where I don't need to buy coils anymore either... I'll probably pick up a pack once in a while for those times when there's no way my fingers will do that, but it's not a priority anymore cause I'm pretty decent at rebuilding what I have. Juice is my downfall. Far too many awesome things to try..

i have a bunch of FW flavorings, along with pg/vg that i got from Amazon and a small bottle of 100mg nic juice. once you can DIY, you can save big money. what'll kill ya, is when everyone here talks about the newest gotta have flavor. grab some big bottle of flavoring for your "must haves". then order small bottles from MBV. that way you can add the new stuff or request it as a sample.

Unfortunately there's no real trick to getting through to someone.... that's just the usual bureaucratic cluster. The *best* thing to do is to go to your local office in person if you can... but they're well aware that most people can't. If there's any way you can swing it, go in person and bring any and all documentation from your doc with you, it speeds things up considerably.

The only hint I can give you about doing it over the phone is the nicer you are (even when you're ready to kill someone), the quicker they tend to get to you... being nice makes you stand out because everyone else on hold is ready to strangle someone too. You *can* file online, but their site is pretty frustrating to deal with. Other than being ridiculously cordial to the phone monkeys, the only other thing you can do re: phone or online is to pack your patience.

Once you go for your medical and your interview process though, the trick is to base everything you say on your average *bad* days... not your average good/best days. I kept getting turned down for everything for years because whenever I had another interview/medical, I put on my usual "I'm fine, it's not so bad" face, so they went "oh, well you're fine then!" Then I got a doctor and an SSI intake person who were both themselves disabled, and they were the ones who went "no no no... they judge this based on your average *bad* day, so you need to play up *those*." It's still the most difficult part of reviews for me because my bad days are depressing instances I don't like to think about, let alone discuss with strangers... but it's the only way to get the financial help you're entitled to. (it's also why people who have no shame about "playing up" a very occasional bad day get services no problem, and the rest of us struggle to get any... most genuinely gimpy folks I know don't like to advertise just how bad our bad days get!)

Hope that helps

i'm really good on the phone. the 7 plus years at the union help. i'm manic depressive as well, so rather than hold back, i just let it flow. it helps! i walk a lot before visiting an office. in fact the DSHS office 1.3 miles away (i thought it was closer than that), as my left ventricle is only operating at 20-25%, it's easy to be winded. the only hard part is not to play the stoic. it's like "being unmasked" in public. i absolutely hate it, but it's the best route to take! (my mother raised a fool, not an idiot! ;))

By the way my wife is doing so much better with hers now that she controls her own cigs. She only has the morning and night ones and were going on 3 weeks! I have to go to the field for a week so I'm nervous about that but she seems to want to make it work (as long as we haven't had too much fireball/crown).

I hope everyone is well and those of you back at work had a better day than I did.

Mornin' Cob ... sounds like all you can do is encourage her, especially if she's like me. The more someone tells me I can't do something, the more I want to do it. She'll come around when she's ready; maybe she needs to see a change in you before she'll believe it will work for her ... just sayin' :) Something about draggin a horse to water ... :D

Yep. I'm planning to do that as soon as funds allow. It'd stretch the budget a bit at the moment, and I doubt I'd have the coordination to DIY till about march/april when the weather warms up a bit, so right now it's on the back burner... but I've got enough stockpiled for now that small orders will do me till then. I'll probably put in my first DIY supplies order around the end of February.

I figured your union experience probably made you pretty good on the phone, yes :D And yep, it's playing the stoic that used to screw me over benefits wise. I can't help it; every time I've landed in the ICU I've been the idiot joking with the docs and nurses through the Bi-Pap mask, so being stoic on a "normal" day is my default setting too. It's really difficult to turn it off, usually requires a lot of mental prep on my part. I hate getting reviewed. :-x

Speaking of playing the good little gimpy-as-possible, today's the day I go grovel to a local private org to see if they can hook me up with a pair of hand controls. Not sure if they even have any kicking around, but time to go put myself on their radar. Siiiigh.

Hi all,

anyone here try Tiramisu flavor from MtBaker?

I ordered for the first time from them recently, and the only thing I can say is that some other flavor must have been accidentally poured into the bottle - what I received from them does not come 100 miles within an actual tiramisu flavor.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I think that it may be some sort of a fruit flavor (get fruity, almost perfume-like notes from it), maybe pina colada... Plus the liquid is completely clear - granted that it does not have to be dark due to the cocoa and coffee powder (these flavor components could probably be clear), but still.....

What's everyone else's experience with this flavor?

They also sent me a coconut cream pie sampler in 18 mg. I vape 6 mg and I hate coconut....
Not their fault though, if I would've read the boards more about ordering from them,
I could've specified which sampler I wanted, I think.
Nice of them to offer a sampler anyway :)

I haven't tried Tiramisu so I can't speak to that one specifically, but most of MBV's more complex flavors need a *long* steep - 4-6 weeks, some even longer. I've gotten that "fruity" note out of a lot of their chocolates and coffees when they're not steeped enough... it usually dissipates with time and becomes true to the flavor it's supposed to be. Same goes for Coconut Cream Pie... had to wait for that to change from clear to bright orange before it was remotely vapeable, and that took about 6-7 weeks.

Their fruit flavors and simpler bakery flavors need less steep time (Cinnamon Roll and Sticky Bun taste fine after a week or two, though they get better with time), but the more notes you're *supposed* to taste in a given flavor, the longer of a steep it needs to come around.

as long as you can refrain from being OCD on making juices, it's easy peasy. if you get into a "everything's gotta perfect" mode, then not so much. try to think of it a making soup instead of baking. you can always agjust the flavor later!

it is hard to learn! even when i had my heart attack, it was a buddy who brought me to the hospital. he thinks i'm having a heart attack, is what i told them. after the doc's did some checking, they're like "look dude, you're gonna die!" i was like, "and?" :D no biggie! one guy got smart and told me how i could suffer a lot of brain injury and still live! well then, what the f--k are you waiting for?

i look at it this way, this is your chance to be an actor! and all you have to do, is play yourself! so, go out there and give a performance worthy of an academy award! that's what i do. course i feel awful doing it, but i'm just pretending i feel the way that i feel. just consider it method acting! :p

Seanchai, Sambuca .. Just wishin some peaceful moments for both of you today

thanks vapnstuff!

Thanks for letting me know. Will leave it to steep for a few weeks and see what I'll get.
