So.......the rain lasted a lot longer than what 'they' said, and we ended up with
an inch of rain before it changed over to s-s-s-now. I think that means much
lower snow totals. I'm sure of it. Maybe. Good morning peeps. :vapor:

Good Mornin mcol.... I hate it when we get rain AND snow......makes it a bear to cleen up after. I have a Mickey Mouse little snow blower, and it won't go near the heavy stuff....I swear, it actually backs up

Well, not the case here, this is crazy!! About every half hour we get this burst of snow and i cant see past the driveway, will do that for a good half hour, then slow down just a bit, then start snowing HARD again!
I am supposed to get vape mail delivered tomorrow, but i know the mailman will not come down this gully road for a few days now :(
The plus side, its not juice, just hardware, but i was looking forward to having my extra pt2 minis to fill!!!

Hello there!

Wading into the fray here....too many pages to try and find info LOL. All the juices I have tried from MBV seem extremely weak on flavor....

Is there a general rule of thumb for flavor shots at MBV? I just started vaping, and I bought these to start with: (These juices are over 9 days old. All are 24mg Nic with NO extra shots)

Chocalate mint: 65/35 Smells good, but tastes like chemicals slightly. virtually no sweetness.
Double Dutch: 65/35 Not much smell, virtually NO taste or sweetness.
Tangerine 80/20 smells like tangerine, faintly tastes like tangerine rind. no sweetness.
Boom Choco Latte: 65/35 smells good, tastes pretty darn good but too faint. no sweetness. (Only one I've continued to use)

Free sample was Dragonfruit, which was terrible. Didn't know you could request free samples in the comments :(

Any rules of thumb to suggest?

TIA

The nic at that level will always override the flavor, with that said try 2 shots. Also because MBV juice is extremely fresh, it does need to sit awhile. Don't give up on the flavors until they are at least 2 months old. Not all flavors need that much time, some are good right away, but many do. Pretty much the older they get the better they are.

I don't think anyone in this thread would hold not catching up against you. It's virtually impossible. This thread is more like a chat room.

I see you're looking for good chocolate flavors. Let me know if you find any.

I usually do 2 shots, mostly because of my high vg % (80-100). It was not necessary with atomic red hots - I got two shots and it is unvapable. I'm going to have to cut it with a lot of straight vg.

Everyone is different, but the oft-quoted place to start is one shot for 65/35, 2 for 50/50, etc.

I will say that your main problem is three of those four juices absolutely need steeping (much more than nine days!). Check my sig for a place to start. The tangerine probably needs a steep too, it will probably just be ready sooner than those chocolates.

Chocolates, coffees and tobaccos are notorious for needing long steeps (2-6 weeks or more), no matter which vendor they come from. The flavors should strengthen considerably once they've steeped enough.

Welcome to this wacky thread

I always thought that "steeping" was an urban myth ... but I am now a believer. Suppliers who custom mix micro batches can't let their juices sit on the shelf and mature.

I agree the link in Seanchai's siggy is the best place to start

See everybody I CAN talk of steeping without even mentioning squeezing or shaking any small animals .... I'm so proud of me.

TY! I will check out the steeping info right now. Seems like chocolate is a hard taste to get right. The local B&M said they have a hard time with chocolates as well. If I could find a really good chocolate mint, I'd probably buy a huge bottle for my ADV.

Since the Boom Choco Latte tastes good already, if I bought a bigger bottle, how would I calculate the shots? I.E. is the shot size increased at the same rate as the bottle size? Or would I need more shots for each increase in quantity? :)

Chocolate mint? Try Shenanigans.
But yes steeping is something you need to be aware of or you won't be satisfied.

Shots are calculated as a percentage of the total bottle capacity, so one shot in a 15 ml bottle is the same percentage as one shot in a 30 ml bottle which is the same percentage as a 50ml bottle etc. That's why shots are more expensive in the bigger bottles, cause MBV calculates all of that for you.

Be aware, though, that larger bottles also increase overall steep time needed. A 30ml bottle of Sticky Bun is steeped in about a week and a half - I've got two 50ml bottles of the same flavor that took about a month to get done doing their thing.

Here are some factors that affect how long a given bottle will take to steep:

1. Nic level (more nic = longer to steep)
2. Amount of VG (more VG = longer to steep)
3. Size of bottle (bigger bottle = longer to steep)
4. Specific flavorings (chocolates, coffees, tobaccos, and more complex flavors in general all take longer to steep)
5. Flavor shots (more flavoring = longer to steep)
6. Heat or lack thereof (i.e. juice won't steep in the fridge, and will steep faster with the *judicious* application of warmth).
