I've had them, can't think of what they are (mashed corn?), but this lady was fond of telling people to kiss 'em.

Grits refers to a ground-corn food of Native American origin, that is common in the Southern United States and eaten mainly at breakfast. Modern grits are commonly made of alkali-treated corn known as hominy.

The only way I can actually eat them is the way my Grandmother told me to, which was to add a bit of butter and lots of broken up lovely crunchy bacon, a little salt and a touch of pepper.

Abnormal? Nah... 10th of January and 74 degrees outside. :) This part of Texas will see it's coldest time of the year from middle of December till middle of January. I have a joke I tell; We have all four seasons, December, January, February and Summer. :)

The Kracken is nice, I still use my R91 and KFL+ clone the most. I have another R91 in the mail. The kayfun style is just so much better in my opinion. I have a Taifun that I picked up yesterday but have not built on yet. I am expecting to like it a lot :)

I think my favorite to date is the Aqua, I do not use it much because pffft 2 mil tank....... mostly gets used at home.

That 2ml tank is a deal breaker for me. If I'm gonna tank it up, I want a bit more leg room. Thanks for the reply, I am going to pick up some flavor of Kayfun sooner than later. Might just go with MBV and the R91, I like giving those boys and girls my money, they've been nothing but good to me. If I really like it, I'll probably browse for a better price somehwere.

And yeah, we have two season here. Summer and ... well, it's kinda like winter for a couple months. Sorta.

What would be the fun in that? Dolphin.

But unless things are cleared up a bit it will just continue or get worse over time.
Not that it matters.
I guess I just don't take forums seriously enough. I follow the rules as much
as I can, but I've been through so much in life I just take forums with a grain of salt.
But now's the time to have your say if you have anything to say, with all eyes upon
this thread. That will soon go away, for awhile.
With that I offer peace. Who's vaping the e-peace pipe with me?

HOMINY! That's right, I knew that. At one time. I love hominy, hearty and delicious. It's used in posole (red chile, hominy, pork) and it's divine. Seriously, I have never met a posole I did not like. When done right, it's amazing. The grits with butter and bacon thing sounds damn tasty, I will have to put that on my 'to cook' list.

Most hominy is made from lower grade corn, what people usually think of as "feed corn" the pulp is harder and it is not as sweet. Treated with lye it softens and swells, it also changes the flavor. Hominy or rather its original harder corn is closer to what corn was a few hundred years ago than corn is today. We have no original corn, just the genetically modified variants these days.
Before people say EW LYE IN MY FOOD!!! You mandarin oranges in cans or jars are peeled with lye. :)

Oh, well, northern NM is definitely a different thing altogether. You got world class skiing up there, that's the mountains. I'm in ABQ, we get to see snow for about a minute before it melts. The summers here can be brutal, though. Northern NM is absolutely gorgeous, though, would love to live up there.

There are two kinds of people that like grits. Those that think it is cereal (butter, sugar milk) YUCKY posers

And those that had to eat it as a main breakfast staple, butter, salt/pepper/tobasco and maybe some ham or bacon here and there. :) YUM

While I do love my grits with a gob of butter, some salt, and crumbled up CRISP bacon for breakfast, I can also eat a heap of them with cheese and shrimp for dinner.

Not quite sure how to say this and unfortunately I do not have the time to read through the last 4 hours worth of posts, point blank, here it is....

For those that are continuing the criticism of how things are moderated, the discussion of moderation and rules is not an acceptable topic per the rules that were agreed to when we all joined. I have stuck my neck out for my friends here and it really needs to stop now, the unusually extended leniency has now been worn out...

I truly believe having this thread closed would be contrary to what we all would like...

Uno....

The other good thing about them is if you can't eat them all, you can use what is left over as Thinset! lol When I got stationed to Ft. Sill, I had asked one of the cooks if they had grits and he looked at me like I was an alien, didn't have a clue what they were! I was actually a bit surprised that he didn't know what they were though. Again, I can only eat them that one way, loads of bacon. :p

I'm excited - though this year maybe I shouldn't be.

No Gronk, no Hernandez, no Mcourty, no Dobson...

I've never been on a forum where it was Kosher to criticize the mods' decisions...one place that I have over 11k posts in, it would buy you a week vacation.

I've been edited here, and it grinds my gears when it happens, but it is what it is.

Hanging on to it is just going to put a bulls-eye on the thread.

*L* I've never been on a forum where people DIDN'T ..... about the mods.
