Had one years ago ........nasty piece of equipment, it kills ppl. So no, can't recommend it

Honestly, Uncle Ralphie, I would love to hear more about that. I would, I am very inquisitive by nature. I have only held a handful of guns in my time, got to shoot most of 'em, but never something quite that intense.

I'm trying to find a fix for this M16 clone I got. The thing is beautiful and vapes like a beast, yet the switch likes to work it's way loose too easily. I'm thinking teflon tape (the switch is on the bottom and screws into a silver plated 'pin') on the switch threads. Anyway, internet is not helping today. I will end up learning more about an actual M16 than the one I'm looking for info on.

Good morning MBV folks :)

Warning: Stepping on the soap box....

I've purposefully stayed out of the chatter about moderated posts for the last few days because I understand both sides of the issue. I just wanted to say that I think the wonderful chemistry of the mix of people on this thread is rare. It is a group, by and large, that is friendly and helpful and kind that seems to cause very few problems. Many months pass, often with over 1000 posts in a 24 hour period, and not one of those posts will need to be moderated. The sheer volume of positive that overwhelms any negatives is rare on the internet. ECF is the only forum that I personally have continued to use for any length of time, and it is because of the great people here.

I understand wanting a forum elsewhere, and I actually encourage it. But here's the thing...please remember that there are many haters out there on the interwebz that could potentially find their way into that new forum, and they could ruin the experience. In my mind, it is this group of people, on this thread, at this time, that makes it such a comfortable place to hang out (and, to some extent, it is the threat of moderation that helps maintain the atmosphere). Starting another forum in another place sounds like a fresh start full of sweetness and light, but it doesn't take much for just a few to ruin it and take it to a dark place. I would guess that most of us have tried to defend MBV on this thread and others on ECF, and I know that I've seen several posts on this thread calling us to speak up in behalf of MBV and their products. I for one can imagine those and other haters making it tough to have a good time, and even reading some of the reviews on MBV's site reminds me of that. This is the interwebz after all...

I would likely join an MBV forum run by James, Jesse, and the staff. However, I would even more likely continue to spend the bulk of my time over here with you fine folks. Just sayin'... :)

Steps off soap box.....

Have a good one all :thumb:

Very well spoken and heartfelt. Everything you have stated is correct and I agree, however there is just 1 thing that bothers me, now I mention this merely due to the fact that I have been there and had to learn as I went, running a forum for over 10 years was a real learning experience and one that was both a pleasure and a pain, I had my share of ups and downs, good members, bad members, awesome mods, crappy mods, having the site hacked, customizing the site, apply fixes, upgrades, adding sections, options etc, etc. There was 1 thing that became apparent and one that while not utilized much was the fact that if there was an issue with a member, mod or even another admin, there was an option for a review, the simple reason is this, everyone is human, the members, the mods and the adminitrators, 98% of the time things were done in a manner that they should have been done, however there are times no matter what the issue, not feeling well, personal issues, job issues, stress on and on, we are all human and subject to make mistakes and over react, this being the case there are certain situations that require an impartial review, sure you can make it a total dictatorship of what I say goes and like it or don't let the door hit you on your way out. That scenario is what causes hard feelings and issues. Again we are all human, we make mistakes, some things have a grey area and while I am no dredging anything up, it can and does happen. Tell me of 1 individual who is right 100% of the time and that cannot make a err in judgement or action! Not gonna happen. As and Admin did I ever make mistakes, oh hell yes, did I own up to it, yes, when it was pointed out where I erred! Chit Happens!!!! Swallow pride and do a bit of reflection, 99% of the time is good to be courteous and respectful as being otherwise is counter productive and serves no constructive purpose!
So, that said, I'm not mentioning it again, just wanted to get my view out there.

Thank you Stone!!! I have also purposefully stayed away while this has gone on, and may I say that I agree with every single thing you have said here. It's actually the first post I've felt comfortable 'liking' in how ever many days this has gone on. I'm in a world of physical pain right now so I won't be posting for awhile, but I have been following, and will continue to do so, in hopes that our community here will remain intact. You all have come to mean much to me. Maybe it's my age, but I just don't want to get embroiled in confrontation. I was a rebellious hippie long ago who rebelled against authority by burning my bras, marching in peace marches, and attended many sit ins. I was idealistic and had passion for my cause. Now, I see both sides, and for me, I prefer an atmosphere like what we have here, 99.9% of the time. Love you all no matter what you decide to do. And that's all the typing I can do for now. Peace, my friends. roonies

I hope you feel better soon sweetie! You are missed when you are not here, just like the rest of these fine people!

So, do you all remember the Newegg issue I had with that Spa Gift card I bought from them? GOOGLE ended up refunding me the money because they could not get Newegg to respond to them either. 3 weeks after the fact. I don't think Newegg is going to remain a "Google Trusted Store" for long with that kind of service.

10+ years ordering from Newegg and this is where they have ended up. They have lost a customer over a $50.00 purchase because they didn't want to fix the issue. Won't be shopping there again. I'll stick with Amazon from now on.

That sucks, they have become a bloated behemoth these days. You ever use Tiger Direct?

Hmm I wonder what is up with NewEgg. I have spent thousands there over the years and always had great customer service. I think tem trying to branch out into other areas and using other retailers is a bad idea.

Drives my wife totally crazy. I can't hear crickets, so when she tells me one has gotten in the house I tell her. " I don't hear it. " She goes balistic......so much fun.........

:lol::lol::shock: Now, if I could only get rid of the cicada that has taken up residence in my right ear! Extremely loud today and very aggravating, and bug spray does absolutely nothing. :D:facepalm: It's actually not funny, but, gotta find humor where ever you can sometimes.

i thought i said no whining, eh? :glare:

at least you beer diet actually contains beer! :)

mine doesn't...:(

i haven't had a beer in 8 years. that is a beer diet!

This would make me cry a bit. I don't drink that often (I go through phases). Maybe every other month or so I'll buy some. If I knew I couldn't have it for the rest of my life I'd probably become an alcoholic.

I agree. I have always liked Newegg. That's interesting 'cause I haven't been over there recently.

well, im Irish and a wee bit of an alcoholic. although saying that and Irish in the same sentence is some kind of double negative, isn't it?

and yes, tears can be involved! :D

but i was put on the "no whining" list a long time ago!

though it kind of smarts when y'all start talking about! i just look at my purdy water filter and that makes me feel...like i don't have any beer...

Trying to compete with Amazon I guess. The difference with Amazon is that all I have to do is call them up and tell them my problem and it's fixed before I get off the phone. I've had to return a couple defective items with them and had one lost package and it was all taken care of quick and easy. The only reason why I was still using Newegg was out of habit. And the gift card was a last minute-add it to the cart- kind of thing. I invested probably 10 hours over the last three weeks trying to fix it. At some point it became less about the money and more about the principal.

I have been loooong time customers with both Newegg and Amazon (anyone remember when all Amazon sold were books?). And Newegg's response to a simple issue was deplorable. So I won't buy from them again, ever.
