A happy topic: I ordered a KFL from California, it showed up in 10 (11?) days. Pretty typical 2-day shipping for USPS.

I ordered a KFL directly from Germany. 48 hours later, it's already in the states, cleared customs & left the receiving facility on it's way to Montucky. Hmm...

My happy topic is that my MBV order is now sitting in Orlando .... I will be getting vape mail Tuesday MMMmmmmmmm

I think he is gone on something called a "vacation", whatever that is. Something about a boat.

I'm self-employed. What is this va.. ca... shun... thing you speak of? I know what a boat is. That's the half completed thing on the sawhorses that sucks up a huge amount of shop space for dozens of months on end.

 And he didn't even say goodbye

A boat, that was the void from which no money that returned. That void sat on a trailer in my driveway for years. Twice a year I put an obscene amount of fuel in it and had fun for 4 hours. One day I did the math and figured out that I could rent someone else's void when I had the urge and save money. I finally found a sucker to pawn it off on.

A boat's just a hole in the water you throw money into.

Or the thing sitting on saw horses, sucking up a huge amount of shop space, that you never have time to work on that turns from a several month long project into a several year long project.

Either way, they're rather magical, wouldn't you say?

They claim that the two happiest days in a boat owners life are the day he buys his boat ............. and the day he sells it

When Ralphie comes back someone needs to get his contact info so we can bug the hell out of him when he's not around here. :D

LOL no clue what happened, it was like a truck ran over me.
First I was just browsing on the website.
Then I was just putting things in the cart...you know, for later.
Then when I tried to get off the page it kept cycling back on that page.
Then when I got that figured out, next thing I knew I was entering my credit
card numbers.
Then something lifted my finger to press the 'Order' button.
Strange.

I think it's called compulsive vaporosity oblivionitis. Don't worry though, it's a fairly common affliction that can result in a mild euphoria but is easily treatable; however, the therapy can be fairly expensive

I was browsing Kanthal on an industrial supply webpage and had to do a double take when I browsed their product guides. They have some information on building heating elements of various kinds with their Kanthal. Kilns, appliances etc.

They also had the following to say about ribbon kanthal:

Advantages of Ribbon Wire

How does having more wire surface area affect vaping?

Produces More Vapor

Using flat ribbon Kanthal in your PVs means you will get more vapor from each draw. This is similar to why cooking stoves have flat tops: there is more contact area between the heat source and whatever is being heated.

Easier to Wind

The flat shape of the wire makes it much easier to wrap around and cover the wick.

NOTE: Because of its flat shape, sharp twists in ribbon Kanthal will cause tears, rips, warping, and other kinds of mechanical damage. Thus, if you have a rebuildable atomizer (RBA), avoid twisting your ribbon Kanthal wherever possible as you are winding your coils.

The only areas where twists are unavoidable are at positive and negative screw terminals. This is because you should have your ribbon wire flat (horizontal) against the screw head, as good electrical connections require good mechanical connections. However, this means you may have to twist the wire in order to wrap it around the wick.

Eliminates Hot Spots

The most common issue people have when winding coils on their atomizers is getting areas of uneven heating called "hot spots." Hot spots will drastically shorten the life of your coil. Uneven heating causes parts of the coil to expand and contract at different rates, which wears out the coil much more quickly compared to a coil without hot spots.

Finding hot spots after taking the time to carefully wind a coil for your atomizer can also be very frustrating, especially if you keep seeing hot spots after repeated adjustments. However, hot spots are less likely to occur with flat ribbon Kanthal.
