beacon, change is difficult, and so is the death of a friend. but they are both part of life, unfortunately. i know everything sounds like platitudes to you right now, but you can handle this and you will. and you will feel stronger for having met the challenge. and don't smoke....(don't you dare! i mean it, i will bi tch slap you into next week! :D)

Having a tough day today. Got some shocking news in regard to my work. I am a high school teacher at a private school and just found out they are not enrolling any high school students this year. I am being asked to move to a combined 5th and 6th grade class to teach all of their subjects. The urge to smoke is unbearable at the moment. My good friend who normally talks me down passed away 10 days ago and I feel overwhelmed. Hoping just posting my struggle helps with the ridiculous feeling that I NEED an analog.

First of all I am sorry for your loss and I know we can never replace that friendship but if you need to vent we will be here for you.
Second, and I know this is not what you want to hear but I don't sugar coat anything other than donuts- you Want an analog, you do not Need one and having struggled with various addictions in my life I can tell you first hand that relapse (even if we are just talking about cigarettes) is avoidable. Find a juice you love, fill every tank you have and chain vape away, look in the mirror and sob if you must, hug a pet, heck hug a pillow maybe even punch a pillow but just keep vaping and know that you are better and stronger that any analog out there.

So, since getting my Graham Cracker yesterday can I just saw WOW!!!! This could easily be an ADV for me! Not too sweet and spot on graham cracker! I am going to blow through this 30ml's long before a 2 week steep time! Time to order 50ml., or more! And what a great mixer with fruits and creams!! Happy in Zoo Jersey today! :?::rickroll::wub::hubba:

Hmmm I made a batch of this @ 13% and am not really a fan, I will put it back in the drawer for a week or two but really only made it as a mixer.

different strokes buddy!! Mine is probably around 13-14% also with the 2 flavor shots. Mine is only 6mg. which I'm convinced has improved my flavors immensely. Hope you like it after a steep. It is definitely a good mixer though.

Aww Beacon,
I'm so sorry! When it rains it pours, huh?! My sister, who is always so positive, teaches 5th grade and loves it! Maybe this will be a good thing. She also says, "Don't question the Divine". I know, not always easy to do. I lost my mother one month ago yesterday, after sitting in a hospice house with her for a week. It was probably the toughest week of my life, and what came after, going through her things and bagging them up, was even worse. I did not smoke though!! You can do this. Vape like a chimney if you have to....that's what I did....and you will get through this. We are all here for you. I know I can say that because this is not just a juice thread but a really great group of supportive people from all over! You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there and if you need some different flavors to try to get you through this let us know. :)

p.s. I see that you are in KC. That is where my family is and where I lived for 12 years before moving out east. I was just there for a month and am coming back for the month of Sept. We should get together and visit one of the new vape shops that have popped up there. We can have our own little vape fest!!
Thanks for the encouragement. Between a rock and a hard place it feels. There are definitely positives in the situation such as teaching my 11 year old all day everyday all school year. Once in a lifetime type stuff right there. My neighbor smokes and that's all I can seem to smell right now, but I have not and will not ask for an analog. Not trying to be a downer but my wife is currently unreachable at work and needed somewhere to vent. The people here have been so generous, helpful, informative, and genuine I thought it might help me to post

There is a vape meet Aug 3rd at Ward Pkwy bowling alley. That's how fast the vape scene has grown in KC
I have been to all three of the shops and love 2 of them. The only downside to your mini vapefest is the temptation to buy. ;)

Thank you, I am not a sugar coat kind of guy. I have overcome many addictions in my life as well and cigarettes has been the toughest to beat. Even more so than some very hard core things in life. Thanks for the encouragement, no sobbing but definitely venting

You're welcome! Wish I could be there for that vape meet in Aug. I am just learning about all the pop up B&M's in KC. Next time I come back I'm definitely going to check them out. I had to emergency order some heads while there last month. Cheaper to order online but it would have been more convenient to hit up a shop. And I know all about the temptation to buy. I've placed two orders in less than a week here, and am going to place another 1 or 2 tonight!!

Platitude. I should be checking these off in a dictionary.

Oh Beacon, I know you don't know me but I am so sorry for you're loss. Losing a good friend is never easy and I know this is cliche but it really does get better with time. The pain we feel at their loss will be replaced with fond and wonderful memories in good time but know that even though it may not feel this way now, the pain you feel really is a beautiful thing and a part of being alive and connected to others.

And please do not smoke, I know how stressful job situations can be but be strong, you can do it. You do not NEED an analog, you want one in hopes it will make you feel better and it may for a second but you will only feel worse for it in the long run.

Mine's at 12.5% and good/strong but not wow when I tried it a few weeks ago.
I'll try it again today to see if it's settled and/or my tastebuds are happier.

Sometimes change can seem horrible at first glance but in the end turn into something wonderful, here's to hoping that is how things work out for you here. Seems like we have a very caring and supportive group of people here, I think this is a safe place to vent about anything you may need to.

So the vape scene is growing in KC eh? I am there for work occasionally so if you guys put a meet up together let me know, might be able to join you.

Time does heal the heart and memories do prevail. All too familiar with the loss of loved ones. Today was that first real moment of need and it hit me she wasn't there. Thank you for the kind words and to everyone who has encouraged. Trying really hard to make these butterscotch clouds choke out the smell of the neighbors smoke

Hang in there, Beacon. There is nothing that I can say that has not been said (besides maybe that b*tch slap comment). This sounds like a true test of your mettle, between the loss of a friend and the stress at work. You have finally found something that takes the place of the need for an analog, so use it, vape to your maximum, if it helps.

A person is not defined by their situations, they are defined by how they handle the situations.

One shop in Blue Springs, one in the Nortland on N. Oak trfwy, and one on Metcalf. The Metcalf store is my least favorite. They took advantage of my newbness early on and sold me a knock off vivi as a true vivi. It leaked like crazy out of the 510 connection and when I returned to trade it for a different one he accused me of having never used it. If I had never used it why would I go out of my way to exchange it. He also shopped the Northland store on 2 different occasions and lied to the owner until he was put on the spot and came clean. Not really in the spirit of the helpful genuine vape community I have come to know and love.

Well that is unfortunate, the few shops we have here are all pretty decent and all get along well from what I hear. I live about an hour west of St. Louis and the scene here is growing quickly too. Have one shop pretty close to my house that is about to open up a new location because they are so busy. Great people and was so tempted to apply but just wouldn't work for me right now.
