I wasn't sure if I should even mention this but my mom passed on Wednesday and I am leaving tomorrow to take care of things. It wasn't cancer but mom took care of dad when he was sick as well so it kind of fits. This is more a show of support for Roonies. And to let her know she's not alone. Feel better, time heals all wounds and I am a firm believer in this

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about your family, all of you. I know what you feel like because my mom was/is sick with pneumonia for the past 4-5 months. Not to mention she's a single mother of two and doesn't make much so the past couple of months I've been there almost every other day trying to help out. Dunno what would happen if she went one day. Those poor kids would need to stay with me I suppose.

Keep your head up, and do what you must do, always think positive even when it's hard.

Hope she feels better. Yes sickness and death is hard. And affects so many.

:tumble:

wow, 5 hours w/o a post!

when using a water bath, could i use glass bottles and make like a double boiler and heat the juice?

You could, must make sure the bottle you use are heavy duty glass, like the amber glass bottles, but you really don't need to boil them, just get them up to a temp of about 120 - 130, don't need to get any higher then that and just let them sit until the water gets to room temp, then shake them up. I'm sure someone else responded, but I am not going to go ahead of the posts, thankfully there are only 5 pages for me to catch up on since I was last on.

I'd be afraid to do that - when liquids heat up, they expand. In glass I would think, and I could be wrong, that if it were sealed, you'd run the risk of broken glass - if the bottles are open maybe..... not sure how hot is too hot for juice though.

Yeah, you never want to heat anything up that is sealed, be it glass or plastic, the pressure would make them burst.

Everyone.....tell your loved ones NOT to give up.....My Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and surgeon said there was nothing he could do....well the family doctor said lets do Chemo.....never give up. She lived 15 more years....and was really in very little pain until the end...... We did lie to her and tell her that they removed the cancer and that the Chemo was for her protection to make sure it was all gone. I know that does sound terrible to do, BUT my mother was a worrier about everything from the cost of a gallon of milk to the weather each day....so I do believe that cancer FEEDS on depression..........we get down and it total takes over. We kept her weight up with desserts and candy for snacks along with a regular diet and kept her feeling good about herself. I firmly believe that is how we got all the extra time. And her doctors called her the MIRACLE patient.........I know she was MY Miracle.
Bless all of you who are going thru what this horrible disease does to families.

My condolences on your loss, it really makes one stop and think at just how precious life can be, thankfully I still have both my parents, they have been apart since I was 12, but I had brought my mother up here from South Florida, didn't want her down their by herself, my father has had nothing but issues for the past 10 years, in and out of the hospital with heart issues, colon cancer, and a whole bunch of other issues, thought we were going to lose him a few times, but he's a tough one, but he just went and had some cancer removed from his wrist last week, both my parents are in their 80's, I cannot get my mother to stop smoking, her sister/my aunt passed away earlier this year from cancer, that is what actually was the final straw for me, hence me going the vaping route and glad I did, just wish I could get my mother into it, but I can't even get her to touch a computer!

Eh, I suck at DIY :/ I was testing out a Caramel Apple DIY and it is nasty... I should stick to tried and true MBV recipes and stop wasting flavor, PG/VG, and cleaning bottles after I dump it :p

MBV Caramel Apple is pretty tasty at 12.5% in 70/30 18mg using their (BIS) flavor

My husband passed 2 yrs ago.
I didn't tell him that he was terminal. I just couldn't take that last bit of hope from him.
The doctors had told him in so many words, but in his state of mind, he could understand their medical jargon...
he depended on me to tell him what they said.
I just kept encouraging him right up to the minute he was gone.

so very sorry to hear this news! cancer really does seem to affect every family. It's ok to be scared. It's normal. I am so grateful we are a group of people who are trying to change this for our own offspring. Keeping you in my prayers!

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom.
I just found out that my mom has cancerous tumors in her colon.
I'm trying to be brave for her, but actually I'm pretty scared.

That is an awesome story. I don't like it when they use the word terminal either. I have an ex employee who was given 18
months to live. One year later he's in remission, feeling fantastic, and living life to the fullest. I hope he stays that way for a long
long time. The friend with brain cancer is an RN. After the doctors told her 18 months - she was suicidal. It was me who
she was texting and in all honesty, I didn't blame her for being suicidal. I would be too. She's not doing as well as the ex
employee I'm afraid. Life is fragile at best. We take it one day at a time. No one knows when it's our time, yanno?

How are the different tobacco flavors they offer?

Tobacco flavors for some strange reason seems to be one of those that are very difficult to get right, I personally like the 555's both regular and menthol as I was a menthol smoker and I found that I like their Vanilla Tobacco, but they take a very long time to steep, at least for me it's about a month. I have tried many different tobaccos since quitting smoking and NONE from anywhere have had the exact taste I WAS looking for, now not as important and find I prefer the other flavors, even ones I thought would be totally gross or strange to vape, thanks to these fine people in this thread. Wasn't over impressed with the Chocolate tobacco, but will get 555 and Vanilla again when I am able, that's the only help I can be, sorry, which I could have been more help but I am sure there are other here that can give you some insight on the other tobaccos!
