DustyZ, I do steep but I also usually sample new orders. I'm fairly new to vaping but I have tried several different vendors and I've always been able to vape most out of the package. I've only done this when I was out of liquid and didn't have a choice. I agree that steeping definitely improves the flavor with most liquids but to this point I just haven't seen the drastic type of improvement from steeping that it would take to change my opinion on the flavors that I received from MBV. I hope I'm wrong and if I am I will make a point of coming back to this thread and apologize to MBV. Btw, are you saying that the "Butterscotch" doesn't need to be steeped? I'm only asking because it has the same chemical taste that the others have.

Congrats on getting your new Bold! :toast:

I didn't do anything, you didn't see me do it, you have no video showing I did it and you cannot prove I did it, I claim I am totally innocent so there! :p

Thanks, Dusty! :)

No, well yeah..I mean, it's not ur fault. ;-) But, I learned something....
now, I have an answer when someone asked why I have so many!
I love choices, true, but the batteries don't last forever! Gotta have backups for for ur backups, right??? :vapor:

After reading so many positive reviews on Mount Baker Vapor, I decided to give them a shot and to put it mildly, I was highly disappointed. I ordered Vanilla Custard, Butterscotch and Butter Pecan. To me, all 3 flavors have a disgusting chemical taste and leave a horrible aftertaste in your mouth. The Butter Pecan was so bad that I tossed it into the trash can out of frustration. I cant tolerate either one. It was a total waste of money. I will say that the shipping was extremely fast and there was a 15ml free sample included but unfortunately, that's the only positive thing that I can say about Mount Baker Vapor. I'll let this stuff steep for a month or so but it would have to make an awful drastic change for me to consider vaping it and I doubt very seriously if that happens. Another batch of worthless juice!!!

Dave - I'm sorry you were disappointed, the advice you've been given on steeping really can make a tremendous difference (not just with MBV but with most vendors).

Having said that, I also had a similar experience with MBV's butterscotch and butter pecan. (I haven't tried the vanilla custard.) It turns out that I don't like 'butter' flavor. Have now tried 22 'butter' juices (butter rum, butterscotch, butter pecan, sticky butter cake) from multiple vendors and they all have a funky chemical taste (IMHO). Have you tried other 'butter' flavors?? What did you think??

No, this was my first go around with any butter flavors but I have tried a few different Vanilla Custard flavors and I never experienced this type of chemical taste. Did you steep your Butterscotch and Butter Pecan that you got from MBV and did you still get the chemical taste?

Yes, I did steep them and it helped a bit but I ended up giving them away. This was true of all the 'butter' flavors I've tried, it was definitely not specific to MBV.

Yet I love butterscotch candy, etc. and I use butter instead of margarine. But evidently I'm sensitive to 'butter' flavoring. (Also don't particularly like 'cake' flavor. I'm weird. :) )

I have not tried any 'custard' flavors so I can't help you there.

Ok, here's the thing, I have no idea of where you get your other juices, however there are many vendors out there that have their juices pre-made and are sitting on shelves or they make batches 2 weeks and put them on a shelf until they are ordered, this makes a difference as they have already been steeping. I have yet to find any other vendors out there that make complex types of juices that do it from scratch that do not have to be steeped. I also make some of my own juices and those also require some steeping.

I never stated anything that the butterscotch doesn't need steeping, again, there are for me personally very few juices that do not require any steep time, I find that almost all of them require a bit of steep time, some maybe only a few days and other much longer. If they are single flavor juices those typically require less steep time, other juices that have more VG in them also require more steep time as VG is much thicker the PG and it also mutes flavors.

Unfortunately what happens with new vapors and trust me I am not a veteran vapor as some here, I have been doing it for about 5 months, but started would the first month with the cig-a-likes until I came here and I had upgrade to eGo-T's, then I started to see about the other juice options as opposed to the expensive ones from the only B&M vendor in my area, in which the flavors were ok, and are from a larger company and I took the recommendations I saw on MBV's juices, as I stated in my last post, I was like, ok these have a chemical taste, but the thing I had going for me that gave me more insight was I have dealt with Pure Essential Oils for many years and make customs massage oils and lotions etc, so I knew that they were going to require a resting period and again, I am very glad I didn't toss them and let them steep.

If would be a gross disservice to state this or that juice sucks when they are freshly made and need some steeping time depending the on the factors mentioned above. MBV states on it's website that the juices should be steeped, the problem is people just dismiss this and dive right in, I know it's tough not too but you can't make a judgement on something that is fresh when it's clearly stated they need steeping, then after that period of time you will either like them or not. Everyone's palate is different and this is a very subjective subject.

So give it some time, check them again and see if they get better for you or not, they should, but I don't have your taste buds so I can't say! :)

lol, I was pretty much just teasing you, but yes, I learned my lesson, I was actually just too busy thinking about the next juice I need to get more than thinking about the batteries and devices etc. But when I get back to work, yes, I will be getting some more juices in Bigger Sizes, as I am out of my 2 favorites, but I will most certainly be getting more devices and more backups for those devices, I do want to get only 1 Mech Mod from MBV as I do have 2 RBA's and would really like to use those for their full potential as that's not really possible with the devices that have processors in them. But yes, I have learned, you can't really have too many backups. I thought I had enough, but then they all started going on me so close together it was like a device plague had hit!

Yeah, I'm like that also. I like red hot candy but I cant vape red hot. I'm actually a big fan of Vanilla liquid and that's why I ordered 30ml of the Vanilla Custard and only 15ml of the other two flavors. I guess my search for the Ultimate Vanilla continues. Thanks for your help Barbara21.

Vanilla is one of those flavors that just seem to be very elusive, I have a few that are decent, but not the ultimate, I am still hoping to find a vanilla that will make me smile and say OH YEAH, that's the vanilla I've been searching for, I have 2 that are pretty good but require a very long steeping time, but I use them mainly to perk up other juices that are just so-so. The same with Coffee flavors.

The rda is something that I'm trying to learn....so, an ego works best 4 that?
I have trouble judging between dry and flood...:(....I either flood it or get so many dry hits
that I get  and quit.

No a Mechanical mod, those that don't have any processor and just a fire button and takes the 186350, 18500 or 18650 batteries. They are typically considered something that are for very experienced users. Most of the time that is what you see so called Cloud Chasers use. I do use them to test flavors as you can put a few drops of juice in them to try out and change flavors often for dripping. You can use them on ego's and Vamo's, SVD's etc, etc however.

I have't hit the perfect vanilla yet but holding out hope of a Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Bean extraction, a great coffee vape on the other hand, got one that hits the spot... :)
