Mostly 28GA, but 30GA on occasion. 28 comes out to 0.7Ω usually which is good, but 30 comes out to about 1.0-1.1Ω. I really like to be at about 0.8. I think I need to try some 29GA.
It does pack quite a punch, yes... and it does have a much tighter draw compared to my AROS and my vivi nova.
I'd use the iclear 30 a lot more if it didn't suck down juice so quickly. I swear I could *drink* it slower than that sucker vapes it!

That's a fun build. you should post some pictures. I'm using cotton too but I have some of that german silica on my list to try. Supposedly there's no weird flavor with it. Cotton's great and all but I'm not enthused about rewicking protank heads every day. heh. Maybe when I get a kayfun.
I'm not even going to try to rebuild the coils in my evods.
I soak the heads in scalding hot water, dry burn the coils (with scraping gunk off when necessary), hold the flavor wicks with pliers and burn them white with a Bic and replace them with 1.5mm silica when they're shot.
The dry burning toasts the thru-wick white so all's clean.
The original flavor wicks are 1mm and there's 2 of them so a single 1.5mm flavor wick works great.
The only coils I've killed, since I learned how much is too much, were too grungy to save.

same here.....they lasts for months....and very easy to replace flavor wick only after dry burn.

This is what I do with my AROs too. Surprisingly though, it's not that hard to rebuild an ARO/EVOD coil (they're functionally identical, not to be confused with interchangeable, due to the lip on the ARO tanks.) Phil Busardo has a step-by-step video that saved my .... when I accidentally snapped a coil and didn't have any useable spares.
I'll tell you what, the stock heads are pretty horrible. I realized how bad they were after my first successful rebuild. I can't get much above 3.8 volts without stock heads tasting burnt. I'm doing 4.1 volts on this rebuilt head with cotton though and the flavor is pretty amazing.
Best way to describe it is if you take the flavor a stock head gives you, then multiply the flavor by about 10-15x you are in the ball park. I find it IS worth doing it, cotton's just a pain to change for me. lol.

Looks good, I've seen a few people go as low as 26 gauge, more wraps and 2mm folded over. Not sure how it works for them though.

i do 10/11 wrap of 28g on a 1/16 allen wrench. MAN I SOUND LIKE SUCH A PRO, EH STONE?! I swear i'm not. Lol lots of trial and error served me well.

I don't know much about the reo personally but it sounds like a sweet peice. One thing with cotton. MAKE SURE ITS WET! If cotton gets the slightest bit dry it will burn fast. As I said in that post, I cant get a pt/evof/t3 style cotton coil to work without flooding. Using it as a flavor wick though , has increased the flavor in my clearos 5x at least.
What device are you using the reo on? My rda is run on a mech. I currently am using 2 strands of 30 gauge kanthal wrapped around syringe needle 4 times. Gives me about 1.1 ohms which runs really good on my k100. I recently started using cotton wick on it and I like it.
