hi all.. long catchup reading session tonight.. thought I'd just stumble in with fuzzy hand cuffs (or finger restricting mittens) for Dusty when he gets the urge to feed a troll but it seems I can't just shut up and upload cuffs... hehehe

that's just what my almost 8 month old menthol juice is like.. more menthol crystals in it than carrier liquid.. have to get the dripper out to use it unless I store the bottle upside down.. and WOW is it menthol.. a little goes a loooooooooooooooooooooooong way. They do not skimp on the menthol one bit - I cannot imagine extra shots. I figured they filled a bottle with as many crystals as they could,, then wet it with some VG and shipped it out.
If they has eucalyptus juice.. it would be like vaping a powerful cough drop - in a good way

I imagine warming up the juice would help to put the crystals back into solution.

Hi, I'm new to vaping and just made my second order from mbv. Unfortunately it was because I didn't care for most of the juices I got the first time. I picked flavors I liked- watermelon, green apple, vanilla tobacco, roasted almond, caramel coffee and coconut (coconut cream pie was the freebie). I hadn't steeped though, other than the 5 or 6 days they stayed in the envelope before I was ready to try. Now I have them in a cabinet, uncapped. I guess I should probably recap the fruit ones though. I do like the vanilla tobacco and re-ordered that one. Caramel coffee tasted great while drinking coffee and was a little sickening otherwise.
This time I mostly went with flavors I wouldn't normally consider- Jamaican rum, cinnamon red hots, cinnamon roll, french vanilla, white out and the 555 tobacco. I hope either the different flavors or the steeping gives me something else I enjoy other than vanilla tobacco because even that gets stale tasting after a while if I don't change it up.
Of course my taste buds are compromised. I haven't (and so far am not planning to) quit analogs. Vaping has made me cut back on them though, substantially. I just hope I can find some good jooses to keep it going. Wish me luck! :)

Steeping is vital for fresh made juices. There's no one right way to steep, but check out my sig if you want some ideas. In general, though, everything is going to need some time, some shaking, and some time to air out, so you did the right thing taking the caps off. When they stop smelling like alcohol and start smelling like the intended flavor, recap them... for a 30ml bottle or less, you'll usually achieve that in 24 hours. (Not always... different flavors take different amounts of time to settle.) Larger bottles will take longer, both to evaporate the alcohol and for general steeping.

Cinnamon roll is beloved around here, and several of us quite like the 555 as well. Many tobaccos take 4-6 weeks of steeping to reach their peak potential though - tobaccos, chocolates and coffees tend to need the longest steeping times. Coconut Cream Pie is an exception to the "lighter juices steep more quickly" rule of thumb, and needed 6 weeks to get good for me.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for the encouragement and good advice Seanchai! I bookmarked your link and will read it tomorrow.
All my bottles so far have been 15 ml. With this second order I should have enough to let a few go 4-6 weeks but I may have to force myself to use some flavors I'm not crazy about in the meantime.

You're welcome. Trust me, we've all been there re: having to vape juice that's not quite ready and/or not our cup of tea. I've just recently gotten to the point where I've got enough juice stocked up that I can order a month ahead of when I'll actually need to vape it... that's the most stress-free way to steep things, but it does take some time to get to that point. :)

Welcome to vaping. As far as the fact that the MVP has the beauty of the basement of a 1970s industrial warehouse, yeah, but, with apologies to Apple, "there's a wrap for that." Here's one place that does wraps, and here is another. Yes, it's basically a vinyl sticker (like a phone skin), but you wouldn't believe the difference it makes in terms of making the MVP look pretty cool. My MVP now looks like a TARDIS (from Doctor Who), and I'll probably wrap my backup in a wood grain wrap or something like that.

I kinda like it as is. The stainless at least. Clean lines and all that. But I'll check them out because if I've learned anything, it's that I think a like something until you all suggest something even better.

When I started vaping I smoked along with it for a few months. So I have been vaping for about a year longer than my banner would indicate. I used ecigs to quit, and since that day,Oct 20, 2011 have not looked back. In thinking about all the times I tried to quit & failed, I am very happy that my doctor sugested ecigs. The ecigs that were around at the time & easy to find were horrible to say the least but they got me started & with a little research I found places on the internet to gain information, like ECF & places to order stuff that was a huge step up in quality & flavor. There were no B&M places & no disposables at the nearest 7-11. Most of the juice vendors that people think of as old were just starting or had only been around for a year or so. You had to have a good stock or risk running out & being out for days to weeks. Things have changed a lot in 3 years.

No real point to this post..... just thinking.

Good morning allayas :)

welcome to the thread Catbird. I noticed on your next incoming order you have cinnamon red hots - I think that one might be on the tank cracker list so if you're not using glass or a carto.. you might want to wait to try that one. I've been vaping over a year now and still cling to my non glass clearos - and the scary to plastic juices, for me, are still carto juices. I don't have that particular one (note to self.. add to wish list - again) but I do have a few of the other ones that are known trouble makers for plastic.

I tried an e-cig in late 2009ish, and was seriously underwhelmed by the performance and put off by the high price. It didn't last long for me and I never gave e-cigs another thought until about 6 months ago. Everything has changed :) I missed it all while you were part of it, must be a memorable ride for ya :)

Been vaping Butterscotch in the 5ml tank, Rainbow Sherbet in a PT2 & Eggnog in an Evod today :vapor:

Eggnog helped me shovel 10" of wet snow from 2 driveways, 40' of walkway & the 4' of crap that the snowplow leaves >:<

no huffing and puffing after a vape break = priceless

EDIT to add - 2 Tylenol extra strength = best 48¢ I've spent in forever

read post...clutches chest...falls over... :?:

too much work there! ;)

i can solve all your juice problems with one word: dulce de leche! :D

oh, sh..t, that's 3!

j/k

actually, i DO love ddl (-4 shots), and it requires very little steeping. peanut butter with some extra shots is nom nom!

we have some big fans of Jamaican rum, Kelli can tell you the steep time. Dusty likes vanilla tobacco. and cinn roll is a big favorite.

welcome to the official MBV gabfest!

Like you, I smoked for over 50 years before actually quitting. Its only been a tad over 4 months , so I'm not sure if I can actually say I quit. ie: hello, my name is Uncle Ralphie and Im a smoker. I never plan on going back to analogs, but I suppose I will be called a smoker the rest of my days. Much like an alcoholic is always an alcoholic. At what point can you say ex-smoker ?

My wife was the one that got me started on e-cigs. She saw the struggle i was going thru with the Patch, Nic gum, chantix, pills, hypnotism, you name it ...I've been there. A co-worker showed her some gadget that she held up to her mouth and said "this is the way to go" My wife wasn't sure what it was because the girl then left without going into any detail. I did some research and found Volt, Smokeless Image. The rest as they say , is history.

I was excited when the first vape mail came, but really didn't expect the results to be anything any better then what I had already tried. Was I wrong !!!! I still recall that "Cherry on top" loaded into a 65mm cigalike carto. I knew nothing about steeping but it was still tasty enough that I have not picked up a cigarette since that day.

It has occured to me how lucky we were that we plowed thru those first few weeks. Not knowing about steeping, or anything else, for that matter. Then I found ECF. Needless to say, a few 78mm cigalikes, a couple volt spinners and dozens of blank and flavored cartos the search began for that elusive bird in the sky... "ADV", which i now believe does not exist. Although we smoked the same brand, with the same taste for years and years...we now had to find a " flavor" that we liked so much, that we could vape it all day. Not going to happen. But... I digress....

Point being.......e-cigs tecnology is in its infancy, much much better things are coming, and soon. An Industry that was struggeling to survive 3 years ago, is now a 7 Billion a year industry. Look how far we came from that cigalike thingy.

Anyway.... back to the point i wanted to make. I wish,...for new folks only,... MBV would have some pre seeped juice available, so they wouldn't have to be waiting for that first vapable juice for 3 to 6 weeks. It takes quite some time to build up a stockpile where that is no longer a problem for some of us.

And now, back to your reguarly scheduled chaos :) Vaping For Dummies.jpg

I've been buying from MBV for 8 months. I had 6 orders of caramel coffee all been great. But my last 2 orders the flavor been very light, on a scale of 1 to 10 one was a 2 called MBV got credit order another one this one came in at a 4. MBV said nothing has changed????? This was my adv. Just ordered 8oz bottle hope it's like the old stuff. Very disappointed but they gave me credit for both orders.
