Morning
We were all just being lazy and lounging around in bed in our jammies when
doorbell rang. It's the guy hired by the insurance company to take pics of the
property. I hate insurance people. They raised our rates by a lot last year
with no claims, and hubs isn't happy about that anyway and we'll be shopping
this year for a new insurer. Anyway he asked me a few questions - like how many
dogs I had (Ginger was barking her head off), and what breed she was. She's
a mix of several breeds I was trying to come up with the least aggressive. Also
asked how old the roof was and all that jazz, then he went out and took pics.
He esp. liked our old shed out back. We were planning on working on those sheds
this spring and repairs will cost less than our deductible anyway (trim work and
stuff like that is rotting around the sheds). He finally left, gah.

To Daniel I think who mentioned HHV juices and how I would compare?
Once you steep MBV juices the juice quality is the same. I do like her
peanut butter cookie juice a lot - haven't had it in awhile.

Never cared much for ECblend. Don't like the base they use.

I only placed 1 order with them, mostly because I was on a hunt for a good black coffee juice & the 'Coffee Your Way' idea sounded like a good idea. It wasn't. I got 3 coffees & 4 other flavors; the only one that was mildly ok was Dragon's Brew... which they claim is a coffee, but I have no idea where they got that from. I've had strawberry flavors that were closer to coffee than that. I just reference them whenever that oddball flavor comes up since they offer some weird ones. Black pepper, crab legs, dill pickle, roast beef, worcestershire sauce...

The way I look at it, "Likes" don't cost me anything so why not??

That was the only reason I hit like on it!

This happens much too often yet in todays world. I am fortunate to work for a women who OWNS the company and have had very good luck with moving up the ladder. It also helps that I work my rear-end off and that this is my 44th year with the company. Her father was my boss for the first 20 year.....but I will admit it has been much better in the past 24 yrs since she took over. SAD that is the way it is. You would think that we have come much farther than that. Off my soapbox now !!!

The bizarre thing is, mom works in a field that's predominantly women... but the bosses are quite the good old boys' club. She's got 20 years of experience in this particular job and about 30 years of experience as a commercial driver (including training others), so in terms of qualifications/experience, she should get the promotion no problem, especially because they're *desperate* for people right now (probably one of the only employers in the state that is hiring everyone they can get their hands on - a ton of their staff retired last year), so they *need* more people in training positions to train all the new folks coming in... but we'll see if the good old boys let her in this time around.

The main thing that made her hopeful enough to try again was that her supervisor had a quiet word with both her and the powers that be, recommending her for the position... and her supervisor is (of course) male... so we're hoping that will carry some additional weight, as ludicrous as it is that his word should make that much of a difference. He's a good guy trying to do the right thing, which we appreciate!

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any actual say in who gets the job, so we shall see.

Ours was pretty busy, open house Xmas eve, put together a giant doll house for the 4yr old, all the fam from Texas are in town so we had everyone and a Japanese exchange student overs for a 26lb bird. And the plethora of gifts for the kids, so pretty good n busy. Blue moo, yay

Daniel- regardless of what juices you ordered you have to be prepared to steep the stuff. I have yet to find one of mbv's juices that is ready right out of the mail. Orange dream bar/ecto cooler are my favorite flavors from mbv and those have been ready on about a one week steep for me. Moo juice would be number two and that one I'm certain only gets better the longer it goes (the longest I've managed to let one steep for two weeks). My goal is to stay month ahead of my orders so all my juice can get a month steep time. Whatever you do though don't base your mbv decisions on anything straight out of the mail.

Oh crap I did it too. Good morning everyone. Christmas was great but the better half and I had a knock down drag out regarding her analogs last night and her desire to have more than the allotted amount. Destroyed the evening. She was doing so good too and I feel it's all shot. I'm officially done being the cigarette guardian now though because it's just not worth the anger anymore. I really hate cigarettes now, more than I ever have. They are such a horrible creation and they are capable of warping peoples minds to believe whatever they need to believe to rationalize having one.
I'm ranting I know. It was a really really long night.

Don't beat her up too much & don't let it get to you too much either. We are all different, I see lot of people say they quit the day they started vaping, but there are a lot like I was too. I vaped for a year before I finally had that last ciggy. That was Oct 20, 2011, can't imagine going back to them now. Just support her & let her go at her own speed...........you'll both be a lot happier.

Yeah, that doesn't work. lol. Through much trial and error I have learned that the best thing to do is be supportive and positive and if we do something that we have asked our spouses to stop us from doing, to let it happen. Then strike up a conversation about what might be the root cause of said action and continue being positive and supportive throughout (including dropping the subject if the do not wish to talk about it). These kinds of bargains only work until one or the other wants something they shouldn't have and then all hell breaks loose, so I refuse to agree to them anymore. lol

Training is a tough gig but I hope she does get the promotion. Does she have to "teach" them something as part of the interview process or do they go solely by the interview? I have sat in on several training interviews for our department (we require that they teach us something as part of the interview process to see how they handle interruptions and what they do to keep a person's attention focused). One prospect showed us how to make Sushi from scratch and we ate the result which was pretty tasty.

I know she set the bar as to how many analogs she should have a day, but........
If someone would have been in control of the analogs when I first switched
over it just would have made me want to smoke them more, and desire more.
My hubs was one of the fortunate ones - he quit cold turkey after getting
sick a few years ago. He tried to smoke a few times after that but it didn't
appeal to him. I smoked for 30 years and can psych myself into thinking I have
to have one to this day. He's not in control of that thankfully. I had a few for
awhile, then went a few months with none then last summer switched nic levels
and flavors then decided I wanted them again, and smoked one or two a day
in the summer. Then around the time I hit 50 I said I don't want to smoke them
anymore. Hubs was just happy I wasn't constantly smoking. I can't see that it's
fair to pay for both vaping and smoking out of our budget, so am just adjusting
the vaping to accomodate (higher nic levels, certain flavors).
What I'm trying to say if possibly maybe probably let her set the pace with
no guilt. Eventually she'll switch completely. Not worth fighting about anyway.

I had to say that because that was the whole reason behind what happened last night. But having read everything you guys said and the consensus being to just be nice regardless and let her screw up if she does I realize that the entire argument was my fault last night. I hate that! Now I'm screwed and I can't even say it wasn't my fault. I really didn't want to apologize today but it would appear I have no choice. I'm still not controlling the cigarettes anymore. That's too much and I can't handle being the bad guy if she doesn't want me to be the bad guy. Might be the all or nothing military mind frame that I have but to me saying I want one in the morning one at night means just that. And when I was given the pack and told to not give them up that was my intention. It's hard enough to have will power but to try to do it for someone else...
But today is a new day. When I gave up last night I told her where the hiding spot was so she's on it now. It was a great hiding spot too
