MBV has them, if you order on new years with the 14% code, it should be $51.59 which would allow free shipping, plus it comes with a bottle of juice and you would also qualify for the freebie. Not too bad.

I have already been looking at and calculating that myself. :2cool:

For me it is either Innokin, Provari, or if it was regulated, the Maraxus (wish it was regulated with a screen)

sent from my Limited Edition Monkey Island™ Talking Head Voodoo Doll named Murray®

Could always kick it :)

I like the VTR, a friend has one and we swapped my MVP2 for his VTR for a day. He bought an MVP2 later, I did not buy a VTR. It is a nice device, it is heavy, it drags my shirt pocket down at work and annoys me. My MVP2 does not do that. I might buy a VTR at a later date but I really really like the grenade look of the Cool Fire 2.

It's just this obsession with mechanical clones lately, it is eating all my monies.

I agree, MVP is great. I don't think the extra weight/size will be an issue for me however.

I have an SVD and I love it. No rattle, easy to use, nice form factor, long as hell in 18650 mode. But all in all a very solid device and reliable, too. It would get more love but I vape on my K-100/beater mostly.

It is a pretty decent looking device. I like the looks of the K100 to :)

I have already been looking at and calculating that myself. :2cool:

Great minds...

I'm watching a pbusardo on the SVD now :) I do dig the Vamo, but a little too rattlesnake for me I think.

I have an MVP V1 now, love it, but I broke the button. I taped it up and it still works, but the VTR is really catching my eye lately.

So just go Innokin then? :) I agree though, they do make nice devices.

Have an MVP now and really like it, it's just a little too beat up, was thinking the VTR may fair better. The recess looked great to me too, would hold my carto tank (19mm) quite nicely I am guessing. And I can use the extension for any larger devices too. I really think I'm sold on teh VTR at this point.[/QUOTE]
I love the rattlesnake, makes it sound tough. The vamo v5 isn't supposed to do it as much, I have one coming from slotech, for about 7 weeks now,but that's a different thread.
That pretty much rules that one out for sure then, as I was already leaning towards box style a little bit anyway.
You were thinking of using cotton,I have been using it exclusively for over a month now and it's great, it takes a few pulls to get the cotton flavour out of it at first but after that it's awesome. I had boiled mine in swamp water in an aluminum pot and a bare copper spoon, so maybe that's where I get that foot flavour from....dolphin:evil:

I'm actually looking forward to trying cotton now, was a little hesitant before, but a lot of reassurance was given here :)

u4ia, the K-100 is my go-to, all day PV. I have been using mine constantly for about 6 months now. The chrome plating on the bottom switch has worn completely off, I've sanded the contacts a few times, it's showing a bit of wear and tear ... but for $30, it's been EASILY the best value PV I've had the pleasure to enjoy. I am absolutely going to get another down the road, it's just a solid, cheap mech. I'm currently waiting on a Sigelei #24 to give my K-100 a rest, but I already know I'm going to be picking up another Kamry Empire clone soon. It's a fantastic device, really.

And, yeah, Innokin is excellent, too. Have not been disappointed yet.

Congrats...the only worry for me with cotton is keeping it wet...make sure your wick has constant juice supply. A dry cotton hit kicks like a mule.

Yeah, and once you torch it significantly the taste just lingers. I've had a ton of luck with cotton, though. I have been using gauze lately, but I think I like regular old cotton balls better. The flavor with cotton is unmatched and it's plentiful and cheap. Even though burning it is a concern, it's nowhere as big a deal as I first imagined. I rarely burn mine anymore, and it really only seems to char or taste like booty if you hit your PV a lot with no/little juice.

Go cotton, u4ia, it's so worth it. And if you don't like it, you can always go back to silica or bamboo or whatever you like.

I am currently using a Nemesis clone, also a fantastic $30 investment :)

I kinda figured that would be the case, way worse than a silica dry hit.

I was thinking that, entry price is cheap enough, and I still have a bunch of silica.

I predict you won't go back to silica once you get the hang of cotton :)

I've been window-shopping clones. Can't bring myself to bite. Too impatient, too skeptical.

I really can't speak of the original, but I've had the clone for a while now, and I really love it. Very solid feel, all stainless, buttery threads, adjustable top and bottom pins so everything fits nice and flush with no battery rattle. Silver plated contacts so it hits awesome. I can't say enough good things about it.

The fastech nemesis clone is VERY solid, it's my go-to PV. The smoktech magneto is a solid second. Just remember: noalox is your best friend with a mod that has lots of threads.

That ain't no lie. I tried going back, absolutely could not NOT taste the silica.

Thanks for the heads up, u41a, I may look at those Nemesis clones when I have the urge to splurge again. I'm flush with juices and devices, the #24 was an impulse buy, a Christmas gift to myself. Really need to just save up and get a Reo like I've been saying for forever now.

I've got a kayfun built with cotton and micro coils, it's good, but for some reason in my RDA I still prefer ekowool. Seems to offer better flavor in that setup.
