For once I need to agree with Butch and DustyZ. (Well, Butch anyway) This is from the flavoring MSDS for Natural and Artificial Butterscotch Flavor. I assume it would apply to the rest as well.

I'm really curious on how many DIY'ers here actually take all of that precaution. I planned on wearing gloves, period. My nic liquid is 18, so pretty low, and I plan on just doing a 30ml. bottle or two at a time....not like a Breaking Bad lab or anything. Is all the rest of that really necessary if I'm careful and have a steady hand. Just wondering what you all do because I've been told by a couple friends that they just mix it up in the bathroom away from pets and are pretty casual about it.

Honestly, I do not worry about much if dealing with Nicotine with a mg less then 36mg, anything above that then I do wear gloves, if working with anything higher then 48mg, then I wear glasses and gloves, above the comes the glasses for added safety and in a well ventilated area along with the gloves, glasses, if not well ventilated then I do use a mask with everything else and always work near the faucets for quick flushing if needed, and NO I am not referring to the toilet, figured I best put in there knowing you guys!

I use 60mg nic in my DIY and I will mix all my bottles and leave the nic for last. I usually only wear gloves and work on a metal pan to protect against spillage. once I'm done mixing I immediately wipe down my pan with alcohol and throw the gloves and paper towels outside in the garbage. I'm overly cautious though but I do have a cat. I also strongly believe that nicotine is a deadly substance and always treat it with the upmost respect.
