Yes it's such a big system impacting the majority of the country.
While you aren't in the same league with plunging temps and snow,
your area is also not prepared for those types of temps you will be getting.
We were used to blizzard conditions in the mountains of New Mexico,
but we just don't get nasty weather often here. No one really is
ready - houses aren't built for these types of temps, water lines freeze
and burst, our county doesn't own a snow plow thereby they close the schools,
snow refreezes and turns to ice, it's just nasty stuff.

Most of the older homes in the area do have Fireplaces and the fact is that for Florida these temps are cold, albeit nothing like the northern states etc, but these temps do have an impact on crops, which can have an effect on some produce and citrus that are shipped to other states. A few years ago, it actually snowed here, but was gone by 9am and extremely light, but it's not something that most expect to see when they hear Florida. lol In 1977 it actually snowed in South Florida, I was working on the Ract Track at that time at Gulfstream. Took me a few minutes to register what I was seeing on my car was snow at 4am... lmao

My parents went to Orlando one year and had an ice storm there.
LOL
Other states laugh how they close schools here over a couple of inches of snow, and
I admit when we first moved here we thought it was funny. But they don't do anything
to many of these county roads, they just aren't equipped, and many people living in
the boondocks can't get out for a week or more. It's just cheaper to close schools than
to actually do something with all the county roads. Still kind of funny when the temps
are in the 50's and the sun is shining and there's no school cuz we had two inches of
snow the day before.

Again, as I stated it's not like some of you are getting however, again this is Florida and for the Beach areas to get a Hard Freeze is highly unusual! Got it made, while I don't have much of an issue with it, it will impact a number or areas especially those that deal with Orange Crops, so tell them that they have it made.

Everyone will see it when they go to buy orange juice in a few months. The prices will go up if they lose the crops. :( The high for today was supposed to be 43. It didn't make it above 38 and it is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow so frozen roads it will be tomorrow morning.

I'd rather have snow with no ice. When it rains and then freezes I don't care if you have 4x4, you'll end up in a ditch if you are not extremely careful. Not only that but it's almost impossible to break 2-3 inches of ice off the car just to get the door open.

BUT I do have to go out to work on Monday when it will be 40 below....so for that I will cry about !!!!

Dusty we have friends coming home this weekend from Celebration.....they have a condo there.....really feel sorry for them !!!! they are going to be shocked to get back here.:)
It is sad when weather threatens people's livelihood.....no matter where!!!!

I'm just hoping that some of the people in this area pay attention and stay warm safely, don't want to see someone else have an issue like my neighbor and I had due to them using an old space heater. Back in 2001 when I was living in Dunnellon there was an older couple that used a space heater as that week we did have temps that did not go about 19 degree's and sadly the perished from smoke inhalation but the fire destroyed the home, well it was a trailer, those take all of 15 minutes to go up. Very sad, they were very nice people.

I can taste the orange and there's some lime there too which the push-ups never had. But to us it is most definitely Sherbet and quite tasty. I'm embarrassed to admit the Mini PT2 is almost half empty already. :(

If star wars can have a prequel, so can I ... episode 3 will answer all of the questions I'm sure you have been asking yourself.

"I don't like that guy, Imma shoot him, check out my coat". That was funny. Thanks for sharing these videos, I'm gonna have to share em with some friends tonight.

Well at least there is advanced notice so they can at least get prepared to turn the sprinklers on so that the fruit can get a layer of ice on them which help protect them for short periods as most of the groves don't have enough heaters so that is the preferred method to help save the crops.
