I watched it Sam, brings to mind the book....Lord of the Flys. I clicked on the John Taylor gato link that showed up after.
I agree with a lot of what he says, having lived thru some of it firsthand

thanks for watching, that's just a snap shot. there's a great 5 part vid where Gatto explains why we have the school system that we do and how we got it. it's pretty damned interesting and it will remind you of Lord of the Flies.

Nothing worse then priming a carto....filling your tank and then finding out its a bad one with a burning taste! I know it wasn't me cause I did another cart the exact same way with no problem.

i gave up on cartos! they do provied very good flavor for a lot of juices, but figuring out how to punch them or prime them correctly proved too much of a challenge for me. i'm not saying it is difficult. i'm say it was too hard for me!

Thanks Uncle Ralphie ! I sort of snuck in about late afternoon.

We're going to have to fire that bouncer & find a new one. I bet he wasn't even at his post when you stuck in.

I hear all sorts of comments on the "longevity" of juices. Being a noob myself (5 months) I don't have any that are "to old"
juice that I bought in August taste just fine.

Edit......after more deep thought :)

I think what your asking is, Is there a point where the juice stops improving???

I would think, yes....once it reaches its peak....it stays as is.
A 1999 wine would taste the same in 2009 as it did in 2005.
Hope I didn't confoose ya further

Not sure on juices yet, but wine has a very, very definite curve. It takes a while to get to that peak, but it most certainly does not stay there. The improvement starts slowing down as it hits the peak so there's a nice window to enjoy it at it's best, and it does the same on the downhill side. I would bet juices work pretty similarly, just with a wider bell curve which would give them a nice big window at the top. I have noticed that most manufacturers put anywhere between 1 & 3 years on the label, but I would bet with proper storage that could easily be doubled if not more.

Has anyone tried the sweet cream? I just wonder how sweet it is...same question about the Bavarian Cream.

I have tried both.
The Sweet cream is good as a "mixer" ie: café coffee and sweet cream. It makes the coffee taste more like a
coffee with cream & sugar ( thanx Opal)

The Bavarian is similar to the cream found in Eclairs....boston cream pie etc.... it is good with coffee also, not as good as sweet cream
It is also a good "by itself" juice. Some folks use it as an ADV.

hope that helps

+1 with this. Once a liquid reaches its peak, it will eventually start heading back down the mountain. Flavors & Nicotine content will eventually fade, and some eventually go bad (Artificial flavorings tend to last longer than organic). Refrigerating them once they reach a level you are happy with will extend their life-cycle. I would not refrigerate the bottles I am currently filling my tanks from though. Cold liquid is pretty muted until it comes back up to room-temp.

Note: Menthal liquids may not benefit from refrigeration. I have heard menthal can revert back to its original form if it gets too cold (crystals)

hey Oz (you know i was playing on that other post, right?)

i started with some crappy ones, but then i got some artemis glass tanks. they worked really well. however, there seemed to be a logic that i just couldn't grasp in getting new cartos in them. i read lots of posts and watched a bunch of vids. when i bought my last ones, i picked up a protank at the same time. it's been bcc and bdc ever since.

Thanks for this ... good info, as the room my juice is in (and has been) on the cool side or better, to say the least. I will try letting my flavor of the day warm up by the wood stove (not too close) a bit.

= fixed it
