I've been using Ez-Sweetz, I don't get any nasty after taste with it. Got a sample from their website a while back for like $0.98 for the shipping, very small bottle but has 180 servings, a little goes a very long way.

Okiedoke. Thanks Dusty. I'm researching vanilla beans. I think my wife is on board the DIY train.

DIY the most rewarding/frustrating thing on the planet

The hard part will be the extraction process and age time. The rest appears to be basic math. It seems like the Madagascar bourbon vanilla bean is the most flavorful.

Ummm, yeah, but didn't realize is was that big of an angle, but would have thought it would have worked a bit better then a straight one one a tank in the VTR so you wouldn't have to hold the VTR at an angle. Hmmm... It's to bad I don't have the machinery to make my own! :(

45ish may have been a little off

Check out the Arizona Vanilla Company, they have a store on eBay, I used to get most of my vanilla beans from them, they have a great selection of beans, Tahitian, Madagascar beans and a good selection of extracts as well.

Same same. I lurked here for months before I even made an account. Finally did just so I could subscribe to the threads I wanted to follow. Then I took the risk to make a comment in the thread. What can I say - I'm shy.

I will say this, though - we've had a short run of being a bit more on the snarky and unfriendly side recently. I know why it happened - some of us felt attacked, and the others closed ranks around them, and we haven't completely let go of that reaction yet.

The collective "we" should. I loved the tone here before things got a little touchy. We can get back there - just need to take a collective deep breath and move forward. It seems, in general, we're almost there, and then something triggers someone, and we close ranks again.

Kill 'em with kindness, folks, and ignore the trolls, and have patience with the folks who don't get this Thread.

Still no errors for me but the site is extremely slow sometimes.

i'm getting ten per page. that post changed 3 times when i was posting it.

Not to start the whole chili debate again, but I just had to share this with Sam and anyone else who is of a foodie disposition - we always put a small pinch of freshly ground clove in ours, per a family recipe that's several generations old. Tonight, I was getting things together for some chili and discovered a garlic-and-ginger spice blend mom picked up a few weeks ago on the basis of "that sounds interesting/useful," and on a whim, I added some of that, too... with the same judicious eye as with the clove.

Verdict - just like the clove adds a little something different that doesn't actually taste like clove, so too with the ginger. It's *amazingly* delicious.

I love how cooking can still surprise me like that.

Got some more Madagascar Vanilla lined up to vape as soon as I can stop eating this chili. :D
