Ok, pt2 peeps....

How do I know when a head needs to be either cleaned or changed? The draw isn't changing like on my ego-c heads. I just can't decide if it's just that s'mores and this tank don't like each other, I still can't make the vv3 work the way it should, or if I need to throw a new head in and dump the rest of the tank...

Inquiring minds want to know.

I may just flip to a new head anyway.

Time to watch "cleaning pt2 head" videos...
Sorry can't help with any of that Khala, but I do know that vv can make all the difference when things line up right.:D

It's just taken me 15 mins to find this post (which I'd seen earlier on today) says it like I see it (despite tantrum-osity), kudos kyi

Yes, we are aware of this and it was not necessary to repeat it! Why in the world can't this just be left alone, you got what you wanted so there is really no need for this! There are some valid points on both ends. Or should I go back and dig my reply back up as well! No, what's the point.

I find that reduced vapor production is the only real sign. I don't let them get to the point where the draw tightens up that much or there's a burnt taste. The way I clean them is to rinse thoroughly in hot water, pop the stem and rubber grommet off, toss the old flavor wicks, dry burn, rinse again (some don't do this, but I do), and then put in a couple strands to replace the old flavor wicks. replace the stem and grommet, and let it dry. :)

What did we do? Was Uncle Ralphie getting out of line again?

No, Ralphie was at the vet gettin repaired while you were out. He's on the couch waggin his tail, but I haven't seen him make it past that yet. You should go give him a belly rub & a biscuit.

on another note i'm currently vaping cheesecake grahm and

Anyone who can do a full refret job on their own has my undying respect. The amount of leveling, sanding and buffing would drive me insane. Many years ago before the earth cooled and the tendons in my wrists were at full power, I had an old SG that needed a refret. Buzzing all over the board. I sold the thing rather than pay the $250. Of course, selling any guitar is a huge mistake. Should have closeted it.

Never!! I've got a '62 SG that came straight from the factory in Kalamazoo. It needs some help, but I'm happy just leaving it the way it is. I'm afraid it might reject the new parts.

I am also baffled, you don't like this thread?? move on, nuttin to see here !!
why do some folk gotta make a big deal bout nuttin

Because we stopped talking about them & they're craving attention again.

I'd like to say i'm pretty darn new here and to vaping and every question i've asked has been answered right away in this thread without ever having to scroll through a page. :D

Look, squirrel!!

Well last time I tried it (before I learned to specify my
choice for free sample),<SNIP>
it's just the idea of vaping cucumbers. It's just not right.

WHAT??? You can specify what you want for the free sample?? I got Cucumber mint too...and had the same reaction. I tried it...it wasn't that bad, but honestly, how GOOD would cucumbers and mint really be, lol. :)

I clean when....

The taste pretty much disappears.
or
The smoke level goes way down.
or
You get a toasty taste that won't go away.

To clean the coils I take off the chimney, dump the flavor wicks and let the head sit in alcohol overnight. Then I put the coils in super hot water to get rid of the alcohol funk. Let airdry, put in new flavor wicks, put chimney back on. This buys you about another 4 days.

I don't like to dry burn, as this fries the conductor and then the head is toast.
