Loving the speed steeping option in my ultrasonic. Cutting steep time down from 2 weeks to 2 days! I haven't tested all my flavors yet but so far, it's done the job on nearly all the ones I've done. I've got my MBV stuff in there now (day 2, 60-ish minutes, though it's a bit off and on since the time stops the unit every 3 minutes and I have to go turn it back on, so sometimes the water has a bit of time to cool down in between if I can't get back to it right away.
I have the el cheapo $30, 3 minute cycle UC from Harbor Freight.
I use a rubber band holding a kibble nugget to keep the on button pressed down.
I use it that way for 1/2 hour to 1 hour cycles.
I use a turkey baster to replace the hot water with cold water whenever I think of it.
Cooler water should help to extend the UC's life.
If it lasts a month this way I feel that I got my money's worth.
If it doesn't last a month I'll return it for the bigger, more robust model.
I've steeped over a pint of juice this way maybe a quart.
It works.
Glass works best in the UC BTW
I also use the seed method for the juices that I already have some fully steeped.
I noticed that effect in my 15ml Butterscotch bottle that I was refilling before reading about it.
What's this "seed method" of which you speak> Inquiring minds who haven't come across it yet want to know.
I too have the cheap $30 model with the 3 minute timer. Have a couple of the $70-80 ones in my wishlist at Amazon plus hubby has a preferred member account at Harbor Freight so we may eventually pick up one of the bigger ones with the 30 minute cycles.... it has to wait though, I've already spent a ton in the last week what with all the Memorial Day sales. And because I've only been a vaper a little over a month, I'm still buying plenty of new hardware not to mention juices.

(Not to mention a vacation back home to Boston coming up in 3 weeks, and a sick bunny who was recently hospitalized so our $$ has been growing wings as fast as it hits our bank account lately.

)
In any case, I'll be testing my Caramel Apple in just a few minutes, and I'll get back atcha...

<= awesome
Okay, I'm back!

Here's my consensus. At 8W (approx 4.7v on my 2.8 atty) I'm not really tasting the caramel at all, it's all apple. Brought it down to 6W (4.1v on a 2.8 atty) and I'm getting more of the caramel along with the apple. It's not a really strong caramel and I think the apple still dominates, but it's a lot more balanced than at the higher temp. If you want it a bit more carmel-ly, I wonder if this would mix well with a little butterscotch to enhance the caramel flavor a bit? I think someone else in this thread did something like this, no? Possibly it was the Cinnamon Bun it was mixed with. I could see that making a nice Cinnamon Apple Pie type of flavor...
Overall, a pretty tasty vape. I can see me vaping this at different temps depending on whether I'm in the mood for a more fruity refreshing vape or a more carmel-ly bakery one.
Oh and by the way, my juice is 65/35 +1 flavor shot.
I'm vaping my MBV DIY CA @ 12.5% flavoring 18mg 70/30 right now. Yum.
I might try tweaking the % someday but 12.5% works great and might just be nailing MBV +1
Yup probably pretty close to mine based on the numbers I know were posted earlier in this thread, minus the less nic. Since I'm an ex-smoker, though only of Djarum Blacks and usually no more than 5 per day, I'm doing only my tobacco flavors in 12mg, and all my bakery flavors--and dismally small collection of fruit flavors though I'm working to remedy that--at 6mg.
For me, the caramel really developed after 2 or 3 weeks steeping. I get more caramel on my spinner at around 4.3 V. Less than that and I get the apple. It's one of my faves and I often top a tank of it off with either cinnamon roll or butterscotch when it gets low in the tank. Hope that helps.
Yeah I think the caramel in this probably does require a bit more steeping than I gave it in my ultrasonic. From reading the threads on the ultrasonic in the DIY forums, they tend to do anywhere from 1-3 hours the first day, and at least an hour on the second day. Don't know if that's just for the tobaccos or what since I know they require longer steep times, but I've noticed with the Indigo tobacco flavors I'm currently trying out, all fairly thick with a high VG/PG ratio, that they're not fully steeped yet either with a similar amount of time to what I used for my MBV juices.
Also, I would've thought that the Caramel (assuming fully steeped) would be more pronounced at higher heat than lower, but since that wasn't the case, it's most likely just another pointer to the fact that the Caramel isn't fully developed in this yet. (Or maybe I just had vapers tongue from drip testing too many new flavors last night. LOL) But on the other hand, I do recall reading another review (I forget where, and whether it was MBV's CA or a similar flavor from another company), but they had a similar experience--not tasting much apple until they vaped at higher voltages. I remember thinking at the time I was reading that review, hmmm that's odd, I would think it'd be the other way around...
PS - I have 50ml sizes of both the Butterscotch and Cinnamon Roll, love them both, so thanks for the confirmation on mixing them.
