And they are lovely in Kanger Subtanks. :)

I've heard this before, but I've tried putting an Aspire BVC coil in both Subtank Mini and Nano and it won't work out because the chimey on the tank is about 2-3mm too short to make a seal against the top of the coil head, therefore the juice just drains into the top of the coil head and out the airflow. Big mess.

So how are y'all using Aspire BVCs in a Kanger subtank?

I use Aspire BVC (not Nautilus) coils in my old Subtank Mini. Perfect fit, no leaks, no issues. All I know is that the Toptank won't accept them. No idea about the Nano.

But the BVC has to work in the toptanks if it works in the subtanks. They all use the same coil heads & RBA and therefore have the same chimney length and base thread.

Man I know I gotta have a BVC coil around here somewhere. Gotta check this out again on all my subtnaks and toptanks.

Honestly, I can't tell you how and why. I only have a STM and Aspire coils work in it. That's all I know from my own experience and can vouch for. The rest is second-hand info that may or may not be correct.

Good luck and let us know what you discover!

Will do. I'm a a mission now to find a BVC coil. I may have been thinking of another coil I tried (and failed), but not sure.

I'm pretty sure that it's just the Subtank Mini they'll work in. I had another version and yes, the "reach" was too long (for lack of a better term). They definitely work in the STM though (taken live, this very moment >>>).

It's the little jobbers that you want (not the "Nautilus BVC"). I so wish they used a different term for the Nauti ones. Very confusing.

Interesting mod you've got there. Looks vaguely familiar...

Yeah, I know - the BVC coils - not the nautilus BVC. Nautilus BVC won't screw into subtanks, threads too large.

I just found one in my desk drawer and I'm off to test on various subtanks and Protank 4. Will report back hopefully within a half hour.

This is exciting!

Well, what a disappointment (mostly). Here's what I found...

3 Subtank Nanos:
On one the chimney was about 2-3mm too short.
On the other 2, the chimney was about 1 mm too long so the tank would not screw down the whole way to seal the glass against the base seal.

3 Subtank Minis (these are all V2 with the airflow on 2 sides of the AFC):
On all 3 the chimney was too long by about 0.5 to 1mm so the tanks would not screw the whole way down to seal the glass against the base seal.

1 Toptank Mini:
It seems to fit fine. Chimney is the perfect length. Tank screws all the way down and chimney is long enough to seal around the top of coil head.

1 Protank 4:
No go. Chimney was too short by about 3+mm.

I didn't try any juice in any of these as I wasn't willing to risk losing juice (pet peeve in this post-9/9 era).

So chimney length varies from tank to tank.

None of this surprises me, really. As much as I love the subtanks, Kanger never was known for consistency in manufacturing with these tanks or their coils. Same for the Aerotanks/coils.

I have more subtanks and toptanks and PT4 tanks sealed in box but not willing to open them up to try.

I'm not sure what version mine (and @Katya 's are). Does it look like the white one in my pic?

I believe they're these >

"They're these" just does NOT sound correct.

I just looked at my STM and the box. The tank has dual AF controls on the ring and came in a red box. No mention of which version it is. And the BVC coil is installed and fits perfectly. All I remember is that I've had it for a very long time. Several years.

Bummer.

Agreed (bummer). :(

It's always situations like this that are the only times I regret the fact that I never (rarely) save boxes.

I can't say which version MVS is selling since I can't see if the other side of the tank has another air flow slot. I'm sure it's V2. V1 was not in production long.

I do have a V1 subtank but couldn't find it. The only differences between V1 and V2 (I believe) is that the V1 only has 1 airflow slot on the AFC and the V2 has 2 slots. Also, the V2 came with the subtank RBA Plus, meaning the chamber/barrel is held in place with a screw and has wick hole, whereas the original RBA that came with the V1 had a screw-down barrel and had juice channels at the base of the deck instead of holes in the barrel.

BTW: I got all my tanks from reputable USA sellers so I'm reasonably sure they are authentic, but I never check codes as it doesn't matter to me lol. As long as it all works right. :D

Yea, the box doesn't say anything about V1 and V2. Same box. You only know what you have after you open the box. lol

There probably aren't any V1 tanks in circulation today that are new and sealed.

Now that I think about it, one of my sealed subtanks might actually be a V1. Been so long that it's a possibility.

Mine both have two air slots, but I have NO idea if they're authentic. I do know that they weren't expensive at all, for whatever that may be worth. I only got them because the BVC stockpile here would cover multiple lifetimes, and I wanted to start using more than just in the BBs.

We vapers can be a bit crazy sometimes.

Sometimes. :2c:
