Just when I think that Ikenvape can not get any cooler(HV 306's would make it cooler too) and I am lurking around this forum and I see this music thread. Music is a huge part of my life and Iken pretty much summed it up with the first post in this thread. I once was discussing music with a friend and was telling her how I have certain songs that if I just listen to, they will bring me right out of a funk that I am in, and other songs that give me goosebumps because the lyrics just hit so close to home or are so touching(god that sounds cheesy) and she responded that she has never had a song do that for her or to her. I was actually really bothered when she told me that. I almost felt like she might not have a soul. Not sure where I was going with this but I do not know what I would do without music in my life. I am getting married on sept 18th and from the first meeting for the wedding planning I have conceded on everything but the music. I do not care what I wear, what colors we use, where we have it, ect... just let me pick the music! There has been some resistance but it looks like I will get exactly what I want with the music. I guess I have rambled long enough so here is my video.....YouTube - Alkaline Trio - I'm Dying Tomorrow
p.s. I have been the singer in 2 bands, I need to get back into it and I love Rise Against(seen them twice here in Detroit)

Wow, just wow man. First off CONGRATS! i just knew seeing your name at the top of sub-forum here on this thread, was going to be just awesome Very well said good sir. Music is sheer inspiration with so many longing emotions that occurred in one's life for another to relate. I do sincerely hope your friend finds that calling jam that would help her out in the time of need Sometimes it can take years for one to discover their song, but when she hears it, it will be like a sweet symphony.

Good choice with Alkaline by the way!

+1 on Alkaline Trio! I love, love, love them!!

And now, for something timeless
Yeah, they have some awesome lyrics. I can't believe I forgot about screeching weasel, I had one of there albums in high school in 97 and I loved it, thanks for sharing that.

And Iken, I hope you are right about my friend but she has proved more and more soulless as the years have past but maybe you are right and one day she will find her song and she will be new person, totally changed by the way the music hit her. Thanks

SRV is perhaps the best guitar player ever. I was fortunate enough to see Stevie Ray play in Texas circa 1985 (or so). Eric Johnson opened for him. I had never heard of Eric Johnson before and was quite impressed. But then Stevie Ray took the stage and... OMG... sooooo freakin godlike... luscious heart wrenching sounds... the clip is not like being there exactly... but a taste...

Love Stevie, especially " In The Beginning" when he was known as Stevie Vaughn. It's a radio live album. Tin Pan Alley to die for.

Give this one a go. Mr. Lee and company. Remarkable.

What did Denis Leary quip, "why couldn't it have benn jon bon jovi on the helicopter?" -- sad when he died, he was so awesome, impossible to play on guitar hero!

I love the Dead (No s###, huh?) but the best concert I was ever at a Neil Young solo acoustic show, I was 5th row, it os forever ingrained in my brain how much he cared about his music........:)

Love the guitar playing clips!

The studio version of this clip sounds better than this live verion... but it's very cool to see this piece being played... it sounds like it would take multiple tracks for a single player to produce this... but alas, it's all in one go...

This one sounds much better.
