Bass -- Similar, but it was guys. Maybe it was for a sports thing. I thought it would be easy to find. It was the popular "today's hot new country" guys.

I started the band last year and it has been a dream come true for me!
I have been socializing the e-cig with my fellow musicians. It only took a few weeks to find it was so much easier to hold notes singing with clearer lungs!

tobacco smoke kills the throat for singing. I've noticed my voice becoming clearer and my ability to hit higher notes clearly is much better after vaping and not smoking.

Welcome to the madhouse Black Strat! I love, love, love me some Floyd! Do you guys do a version of "Empty spaces/what shall we do now"? Tell me you don't skip the second half and go into "young lust"! Makes me want to punch my radio when they play it like that. (What shall we do now is like the most epic thing ever.)
Thanks Mac, and I hear you. We are actually in the planning stage for performing The Wall live next spring. I am talking to our local actors theater to see if I can incorporate a better theatrical element than what just the band could pull off. This year's show was DSOM in its entirety. You can see a few vids clips of rehearsal on our website. Of course we did a "best of" set to open with.
another huge Pink Floyd fan here... covered a few tunes of theirs over the years.
My first real recollection of Pink Floyd was when the song "Money" hit the airways. That must have been '71-'72. From that point on I had to find out about these guys and listen to some tunes.
Pink Floyd is timeless, Roger's lyrics are as applicable today as they were 40 years ago. The music resonates across generations. One of my favorites to listen to as well as perform is Echoes. I enjoy their version from Pompeii the most, followed by David Gilmour's Live in Gdansk version.

Animals has long been my favorite release from Pink Floyd... and I've always been surprised it wasn't as popular as I thought it should be. That said, I was floored to find out that one of Les Claypool's side bands called Frog Brigade did the album beginning to end as part of a tour in 2000... and released it as a live CD. Les has done a LOT of PF covers over the years.

All of the Animals tunes are very difficult to pull off live! Gilmour always has great tone. On Animals his tone is quite different (and still great).
Gilmour always impressed me with the tone he could pull out of a Strat. I played a 79 strat I bought new for over 15 years and one Christmas my wife bought me a Gibson Les Paul. At first it felt funny. I played it here and there because I knew she expected me to, but it always felt different. One day I started falling for it and began to discover how to tweak the tone by playing with the balance between neck and bridge pickup volumes. I found that there's all kinds of little sweet spots, especially with neck pickup rolloffs while the bridge pickup is active in the middle position. I discovered how easy it is to do pick squeal harmonics on the LP.
I just missed the growl of my old SG and did a pickup swap on my Epi LP. The Epi became my go to guitar after I customized it a bit. I have a Tele, also, and enjoy playing it from time to time. I've just been locked into the LP for about 5 years now. I need to swap around more and play them all. Strings get expensive when you play a bunch of guitars on gigs. I've never been one to swap guitars for a particular song, anyway.

be lucky you don't play bass... there was a time when I was burning through a set a week on a pair of basses. At an endorsement discount bought in bulk it was about $30 a week.
Speaking of strings, I need a new set for my Upright... the ones I want are close to $300, the ones I'll settle on are $140
and proof that the 'tone' is in the hands, heart, and mind of the player...

What upright strings cost $300?
I use Spirocore heavys on my electric upright and change them about once a year. I believe they cost about $150. Maybe more now.
I didn't realize they have mediums now. I'll try those next.
