I have been getting all kinds of gig offers lately. I got a call for a wedding yesterday and a club in Chilliwack has a new booking person (I happen to know her hehe) 2 Stages/rooms. One is for bands and the other is acoustic type duos and such... well I have 2 bands now and am doing a duo with another guy, so lots of nights we can get in.

Last night I got a call from a bud that was booked friday night but his band cancelled. I thought he was asking me to come play with his band but nope, I am taking the night. So I talked to the owner of the club about letting me host an acoustic type open mic/jam... inviting a few friends incl my duo partner. should be fun

I get to do opening night at the new club, in the small room. Got the call last night. I can either do it solo or duo. Haven't heard back from my duo partner yet but we will see. That is this saturday. December my band will play the big room... well the band I am in is better wording...

my old band wants to get back together too with me singing lead and playing bass.

seems I am either becoming a hired gun or a music .... lol

and funny enough, the song I did last friday night that was the biggest hit? I'm yours with my $30 ukelele. no pick up, just held it under my chin and used the vocal mic LOL. everyone in the bar was dancing.

I ended up grabbing a bud, Paul Barrell to come play with me. Awesome guy.

I did the same pub again last night. We got started late... like 9pm. not our fault. Bartender told the bass player I invited (also plays acoustic guitar) there was no music so he went home mad. The PA was being used by a party in the back room and we had to wait for it to arrive. The other guitar player didnt bring an amp expecting to plug into the pa. so we had to drive to his place and he grabbed his big hartke stack. takes 2 of us to carry that beast wow.

all in all it was fun and the owners asked me to come back today to play their staff party but I need a break from all that driving...

Dec 28th I am backing up Chantele Delaine McGuire. I will sing a few tunes, play a variety of instruments. This woman can really sing man and she plays guitar.. her husband is going to play piano on a few songs too. we are going to get a duet act worked out

That last one was an interesting gig. I got introduced. came up, plugged in the mandolin and she said I am going to do an original... I had never even heard it lol. no friggin clue. so just some tremolo trill fills and that was about it for me haha. and we are going to do this song, but I play it different and in a different key than original... oh boy. fun. I am getting a fair few songs on that ukelele though.

I met some people at a coffee shop jam and have a mandolinist/guitarist from that coming over sunday to rehearse for a duo in feb. And Monday I am getting music and charts for some original music, he said Jazz/roots so we will see. I am auditioning for the part though and looking at a tour may to july to follow... I still can't get over what a difference being a mandolin player has made to playing out. Sure having a lot of fun this year. 50 yrs old still lots of poop left hehe

I've been playing guitar for ~12 years. Drumming for ~5 years.

I play in a punk rock band and we play shows in Vancouver about once a month. Currently in the progress of writing/recording our first full length.

OP, nice LP. 56 reissue? My other guitarist has one and it's fantastic. I've been jamming a LP Traditional almost exclusively these days. Next guitar I think will be a Music Man Axis.

It is a '56 reissue, but it's an Epiphone and the quality is surprising, so much that my main LP these days is also an Epi. I play an actual Gibson LP Studio sometimes, but generally take the Epi's out in public. I don't mind modding the Epiphones and have done that to both of them. My oldest guitar is a Fender Stratocaster that I bought in early 1980. The serial number shows it to be a 25th anniversary model ... lucky me! That makes it worth a little more. The Strat is a natural finish swamp ash body with a maple neck. It's as heavy as a Les Paul and sustains almost as well.

I bought a Tele and an SG since this picture was taken, but this is my latest collection photo.

That's a nice collection of guitars. I love the '56 reissue. Never played epi's too much. Always heard good things about them though.
