So, Smoktech sent me a 18650 VV Gripper, and I like it a lot! Hits like a VMax, with an easier menu system, nice rubberized grip feel, clicky button, and nice display.
SMOKtech is taking some time with our order...was a large order...
So where's the review on it already??? Also, have you done, or do you have any plans to do a vid on the raven that shows how it goes together, is filled, cleaned etc? Saw the one where you vaped it and talked about it.
Once they are released, yes. I plan on a doing a cleaning video, pulling the carto apart, etc. Since it is just a carto in a tank, it goes together and fills like any filler carto tank. It's the carto that makes the magic.
Oh, as for the review on the 18650 VV Gripper, that will come after a few days testing. I only got it yesterday.
We come to you on bended knee,
And raise our pleading eyes to thee,
Oh, hear our benighted voice,
And give us our beloved toys!
We cry, we plead, we cannot wait!
Yet all you dangle is the BAIT!!!
(I did threaten bad poetry, didn't I?)
And with that, I'm off to bed. Gotta get up at 5 tomorrow. G'night, all.
Phooey. I've really been wanting to see a vid on this for the ravens cuz I can't wait to try one since I LOVE the phx bc's but they just don't hold enough, and I can't deal with filler cartos at all. But because I can't stand filler cartos, I've never used any type of carto tank. So was really wanting a vid so I'd know what I was doing when I get it.
Was just being facetious bout the gripper vid.But am very anxious about this one too.

Smoktech claims it's a 4amp APV. I would like to see someone (you)do an amp test on it, like how many volts it will put out under load with a 1.5ohm carto.
Errol
Well, I can't get it to fire at 3V, with a .9Ω atty on it. But, I am not sure if that is the AMP limit or another limit kicking in.
That low of an ohms reading may make it think it's almost a direct short... so I suspect you are hitting another limit as you seem to suspect
Update: Wow. This sucker is dual mode. When I put it to 6V with the 1.4Ω, it doesn't use PWM, but goes to constant 5V. Lowering the voltage to 4.4V, it goes back to PWM.
That's probably just the way the protection works. It lowers the master voltage level when limiting, not adjusts the pwm to simulate an acceptable voltage.
ETA: This makes sense, as if it was still pulsing at 6V, the current limit would be exceeded, albeit for a short time, on each pulse.
LD, what voltage does it peak at when in PWM?
Thanks LD! That puts it right between the Rocket and the Vmax on peak voltage. Sounds like a great little device!
