I am getting an MVP 2.0 tomorrow in the mail and I have been a long time clearomizer user. currently using the Kanger Protank II with 1.8 ohm coil. I used the 2.2 Ohm coils before just recently, but thought I'd step down to the 1.8 ohm to vape at a lower voltage due to a generic ego style battery I'm currently using till my MVP arrives. Anyhow, getting the my question:

Can I use a Kayfun Lite efficiently with the MVP 2.0? If so, what would be a good gauge kanthal wire you use for rebuildable coils. I looking to get lots of flavor and huge clouds. I've watched some of RIP TRIPPER's videos, but I notice he's using a dna and I know those have a much higher wattage ability. I would love to start the hobby of playing with rebuildables and any info would be GREATLY appreciated as I know there is a plethora of knowledgeable people in this forum. I am a newbie, but I am a very quick learner and would love to hear from you all and get some serious insight as to what my realistic options truly are.

Thank you all so very much,

VAPE ON BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

P.S. This is the Kayfun I'd like to get:

Kayfun Lite Russian RBA Clone Rebuildable Atomizer SvoeMesto
It's $37 Dollars

I have checked out many coil builds and I have a good understanding as to how to actually build them and the tools and supplies necessary to accomplish such coil builds. I was just concerned because I never see anyone using an MVP with the Kayfun or other RBA's. I always see people using DNA's and Provari Mods. I thought maybe the MVP didn't have the power to push a heavy duty coil

From what I read, it can't fire below .8, you should be fine....and you should get decent vape/flavor out of it. My best vape with Kayfun on my MVP 2.0 was between 1.2 to 1.5 ohm at max 11 watts

I don't think Kayfun was really meant for sub ohming..but people opinions differ and taste is subjective. Give it a shot..if you love it, awesome, if not..ramp it up and enjoy

forgot to mention:

google Kayfun MVP 2.0, images...you'll find a lot creative people blinging out their MVP with wraps and Nano colorful tubes for their Kayfun

Can I sub-Ohm. Like .8 ohm coils or used twisted 28 Gauge Kanthal wire to make some serious coils and still get good performance out of the MVP 2.0??

Not really.

I've heard of the MVP firing with a .8 ohm coil, but you'll be very limited on power delivery at that point.

The MVP is limited to a maximum of 11 watts output. With a .8 ohm coil you would be limited to vaping at just 2.9 volts. That's going to be an extremely weak vape for a subohm build.

The MVP is really designed for 1.3 ohm and above. Below that and it will start cutting power to get under the watt and amp limits.

I'm not familiar with dripping (Drippers). I do appreciate all the quick feedback. I think I will invest in the Kayfun as I think it could be a nice way to start of vaping for the hobbyist in mind. I go though coils on my Protank II pretty quickly, but I must mention I've been using Lotus replacement heads. IDK how good of a replacement head they make, but it was all I could find in my area and I needed them ASAP and didn't wanna wait for shipping of genuine Kanger brand replacement heads online. I've also noticed that with the coil builds on the Kayfun, people get VERY large amounts of vapor and they say the flavor is better with a decent coil build done properly in comparison than what I've been getting with the Protank II. Would you concur, and if so, can I expect that type of performance from the MVP 2.0 Mod?

Just suggestion, for practice, why not rebuild your Kanger coils? Youtube it

I'm using a hybrid method..that has no gurling...32 Gauge, Microcoil....around 1.4 ohm, with 1.5mm Ekowool and organic cotton flavor wick on top.
I then added Kanger Aerobase to my Pro Tank 2 ....I haven't change my coil for more than two weeks...I just keep refilling it with MT Vaper Baker Hawksauce...I might rebuild it after I've empty the e-juice bottle. It's my mobile build..for vaping and driving around town on my MVP 2.0...

You should really link us the actual Kayfun clone you are getting..some of them have quirks that you might need help on..

Kayfuns are more about flavor than vapor production, and I don't know anyone who has had good results subohming on one.

Most people are building 1.2-2.0 ohm single coil builds for their Kayfuns which your MVP can handle with no problem. The flavor is as good as you can get without dripping. Vapor production is good, but again, it's not meant to be a home fogger. Don't expect a lot more vapor than you could get out of an Aerotank or Nautilus, just expect flavor that puts those clearos to shame.

I have that one, actually the one from Eciggity where they claim it has bigger air hole. The only thing I did it far was have I sanded some the edges of the base...it was sharp enough to cut....it has good reviews, etc...just let us know when you need help...

I can't comment on it's performance..I bought so much stuff...I've been lazy...to even properly clean it (yes it smells like machine oil) and put build on it.

Excellent. Flavor it my top priority! Creating the coil at over 1.2 ohms won't be a problem. What gauge Kanthal would you suggest i start out with as a newbie 28g?

28g seems to be the most popular, but if you're doing microcoils, I find 30g to be a bit more newbie friendly.

If you use a 1/16th inch drill bit and 30g Kanthal, then 1 coil = .2ohms. That makes the math really easy when you're trying to figure out how many wraps you need for a specific ohm rating. A 1.2ohm coil is 6 wraps. A 1.5ohm coil is 7.5 wraps. 2ohms is 10 wraps. Easy.

Plus 30g heats up slightly faster than 28g, so if you had a 1.5ohm coil of both types the 30g coil would heat up faster.

Currently running a Rocket kayfun clone on my MVP using 28ga wire, 2.2mm ID, with 8 wraps for about 1.3 Ohms. I've tried as low as 1 Ohm with 26ga, and as high as 2 Ohms with 30ga. The 28ga coil at 1.3 outperforms the others with the MVP. I do run kayfun style atomizers at .8 to .9 for my mechs and they really perform well in this range....on a mech, but my intention for the MVP was an all-day out-and-about device. It has not disappointed.

Thank you both very much. Could you point me in the right direction to coil build videos for coils that would be useful with the MVP 2.0 and the Kayfun Lite Plus Elpro Clone. Also, if I get organic cotton for wicking material, how important is it really for me to boil it first? Will I notice that big of a difference from boiling?
