MVP v2 users, what is your preferred setting?

Was wondering what fellow MVP v2 users have as their preferred setup, curious to see what volt/watt settings everyone uses.

For myself, I like to use my Kanger Protank 2 with the 2.5ohm coils set at 4.1v and at 6.5-7 watts. If I take a really long drag, or “puff-puff”before I take in a vape, little bit of a burnt taste. Otherwise, a 4 second drag is just the right amount of vapor and flavor for me.

For the iclear30 w/ 2.2ohm wick, I like the voltage set at about4.4 and power set at 8.5w for a pretty nice and thick flavorful vape. Same with the iclear 16 w/ 2.2 ohm coil, but I prefer the power down to 7.0w as it seems the vapor gets a little on the warmer side for my preference.

Was thinking of trying out a cartomizer, specifically the SMOK dual coil 2.0 ohm w/ a tank similar in capacity to the iclear30. I haven't decided on the tank yet. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

For me with an iclear30 i'm allways at 9/9.5W. With a carto tank (AGR v2) I go back to 7.5/8W. And finally when I do dripping (Igo-L) I go up to 11W with a 1.5ohm coil.

If you set voltage, you have to do the appropriate math to get the desired result(power) or you can just adjust until you find where you like it for that coil. You can't set voltage and the watts to different values, they are the same thing essentially. When you set your device to VW, it automatically does the math for your device to deliver the same amount of watts "power" regardless of what resistance coil you are using.

For example, I like to vape at 7.5 watts, if I didn't have a VW device I would have to know the resistance of my coil and do a simple calculation to figure out what I should set the voltage to. Here is an example using two common resistances:

Watts = Volts x Volts / Resistance

7.606 watts = 3.7 * 3.7 / 1.8 ohms

7.396 watts = 4.3 * 4.3 / 2.5 ohms

So, if you know the resistance of your coil. You can set the power without having a VW device. All VW does is do that simple equation for you and apply the appropriate voltage to your coil so regardless of what the difference in resistance is, you will have more or less the exact same vaping experience without having to fiddle with it too much.

However, if I lower the voltage to 3.3v, I can crank the power up to 9watts and not have a burnt taste.

If I change the voltage back to 4.1v but leave the power at 9w, its not a pleasant vape at all, it definitely has a burnt taste. Thanks in advance!

They don't, it's either or. Not both at the same time. When you're in VW mode, the device automatically sets the voltage so you get that wattage for whatever resistance coil you are using.

Sweet spot for me is right a 7 W. MPV 2 with a few different tanks.

OK, I understand, thanks. However, there definitely seems to be an effect based on the voltage setting I leave the MVP on vs the power I set it at. Am I the only one that is experiencing this?

I actually just saw an MVP (it was a V2) in person for the first time yesterday. I would totally grab one but the 11 watt limit is just too limiting. I really wish they'd make one that goes to something more like 15w.

Usually between 7 and 8W depending on the juice. I also noticed that with longer draws I'd get more of a burnt taste with the protank. You can try flipping the rubber gasket on the head, that seems to help me with thicker juices.

I can get by with 3.7v or 7watts on most devices. It depends on the coil design. I usually run a dual coil 1.7ohm a little higher than i run a 1.7ohm single coil. iCear30s seem to like a bit more power too because of the dual coil design. Im not sure about the ohms on the first iClear30 i bought but i ran it at 4v-4.2v on my original MVP.

I typically run either 3.7v or around 7watts on anything upto 2.2ohms and a single coil. After that they seem to need more volts and heat. Some of it depends on my mood too. Using a SMOK DCT tank with a 1.5ohm dual coil, the vape is pretty good at only 7watts or 3.8v but if i want a harder throat hit, i go upto around 8.5-9watts.

BTW which ever you set last on the MVP V2 is the setting it runs on. So if you change volts, its running on volts and if you change watts its then using watts as the constant along with ohms for the RMS equation. It appears to be the same for setting it on volts. Volts and ohms are then the constants and watts becomes the variable in the equation.
