I have to disagree with Rosa (oh no). I was a 1.5-2 PAD smoker. I smoked lights but they were harsh light (Pall Mall). But I was not a hard hot dragger. I dragged slow and easy and enjoyed cigs. I had no problem quitting immediately with an ecig that's a weaker hit than 510 and KR808D-1. Not everyone needs the harder hotter hit of LR attys and cartos which you can only use on fat battery models like Ego and Riva 510. If you want to have those LR options or want 6-8+ hour battery charge likfe, then you need Ego or Riva or another fat-battery model. If you are a less intense smoker and have access to AC or USB most of the time, then 510 or 808 might be a fine starter unit. 510 batteries last 2-3 hours, less if vaped heavily. Standard KR8 and 510 Mega xl batteries last 3-5 hours, less if vaped heavily.

Re Paypal - forget it. How are you going to buy supplies elsewhere and juices etc. Paypal is not supposed to be used for ecig purchases. Do you plan to only get supplies 1-2 places?

Not disagreeing or anything ........... but I was a 1/2 pack smoker (UltraLights). Got 2 510 batteries and the Smart PCC. I always start with a fresh 510 battery at the start of my day and will only switch to another battery close to the end of my day.

I just bought another battery since my PCC can hold 2 which means I got one fully charged, while 1 is charging and vaping on another. That should pretty much cover it for me.

Cignot.com has good prices and great service.

If you are going to go with the 510or808, I would definitely get a PCC. This is what I started off with and it did fine to get me off cigs and really wasn't that much hassle to change batts a few times a day. I do admit to being spoiled by my Ego though for battery life, often I get a full day out of a single battery.

I used to smoke 1.5pad.

my daughter inlaw and her mom got the 510. they ditched it for the 808. said its much better. vapor4life.com has sales going right now. extra batteries is always a good idea. i also got the pass thru and the car cig lighter charger thing. i can vape off the pass thru in the car and charge if needed too. the personal charger case is also nice. v4l came quickly. we have had to return a defective battery or 2 between all of us but they did ship the new one out and trusted us for a return. came quickly.

With 510 you will be reusing the carts you started , maybe restuffing them with blue foam. And maybe using blank cartomizers and filling and refilling them yourself before they run dry. if you run cartomizers dry you can singe the stuffing. if you keep them damp you can get days or even a week or longer out of a carto.

With KR808D-1 you can get prefilled cartomizers and you will be refilling them yourself before they run dry and get days or even a week out of each.

With ecigs you don't subsist on prefilled carts or cartomizers unless you are rich. You could probably go through 10 carts in a day or 2-4 cartos in a day if you didn't add ejuice to them. The websites that say a cart or cartomizer lasts as long as a pack of cigs lie.

I vape both 510 and KR808D-1 (Vapor4Life). I love cartomizers, I use cartomizers on my 510. So far I actually get better longevity out of Boge soft-cap cartos for 510 vs Vapor4Life cartos on KR8. The KR8 is slightly higher voltage, vapes a bit hotter. The 510 has the most variety of blank cartomizers. Both are nice.

Former 1 PAD smoker myself... i did manage to quit the cancer sticks using m402/3 super-minis... but was definitely appreciative of "more vapor ... more vapor" when i finally went there. I think the results of the polls here on ECF indicate that most members end up using some form of bigger batt after getting started, at least that's my impression. If thats right, more often than not, starting with a bigger batt might be a good move.

Although, I don't know if I would have made that leap to start with. As vaping grows in usage, maybe the "bigger batt" thing won't be so daunting as a first step provided the would be vaper had seen some eGo users out in the wild?

Get a Riva 510 or Joye eGO from Liberty-Flights.com, super cheap and you can forget any of the battery worries. I don't think the "fat" batts are unattractive at all, and let's not kid ourselves with trying to make our PVs look like real cigs. They aren't.

Riva 510 all the way, sooner or later. Might as well save yourself the money now though! ;)

Being a noob, I second getting an eGo from Liberty Flights. They still have some kits uber cheap with a great warranty and great service. You will probably find you vape more on decent gear.....I have. It's just that enjoyable. I personally don't want my pv to look like a cig. My silver rig gets attention and starts conversation=education=converts. Two successes so far.

Also a pass through if you spend a lot of time on the pc or traveling. Just ordered one tonight from The Vapor Room on sale(for 510 and works with eGo attys) plus they give you 1-30ml and 1-6ml bottles of juice for free. Not bad for $16 shipped. 90% of my vaping could be on a PT.

One suggestion on juice. I'm pretty much over the tobaccy flavors. I don't smoke anymore and the 60mls of juice I have is tasting pretty nasty. I'd try a non tobacco flavor in a small size. If you go with TVR, you get 2 free ;-)

great stuff! I appreciate your replies...

Im sold. Tomorrow, as soon as I return my knight sticks, Ill be ordering a kr808 kit from LiteCigUSA. I have check Cignot (no kr808), Cigeasy (out of stock) and others. I might add an eliquid as well to the order.

thanks for input... really.

Once you get setup with your batts, there are lots of different kr8 cartos out there, and you can put 901 attys straight on those batts too. I'm not a big carto user, but the MaxxBloog Fusion cartos get some good reviews...

... they should work on any KR8 batt.

Happy Vaping!

I purchased my Joye 510 starter kit from esmokeronline.com for $49.99 (a vendor here at the forums) and I am super pleased with the service! Very fast shipping! In fact, my mother placed an order on my behalf (she wants to stock me up to insure I don't relapse to analogs) for two more kits and that same day she received a notice that the kits had already shipped. I don't love esmoker's juices as much as I've enjoyed flavors from other vendors, but as far as authentic Joyetech kits go and speedy delivery, I couldn't be happier with the quality and service!

This may sound a bit odd.. but,
I purchased a GreenSmoke and some spare cartos. Gots my e-juice all ready.
Yesterday, after 10 days, I finally had to retire the original carto that came with the GS e-cig. I made sure I kept that puppy nice and wet!
I also have an NJOY NPRO and right now, I'm on Day 6 of the original carto that came with it.
Fluke? I'm not sure, but I'm sure enJOYing some nice vapour right now as I type this! I vape 2 to 5 times an hour, charge my batts up generally once a day (.... of course, I'm running 4 e-cigs at the same time here) so maybe that might explain it? Anyways, I'm really liking getting my vape on and avoiding those sucky analogs!
I hope things work out well for you! Especially a new vaper like yourself. And also..
"Welcome to a whole new world". You'll find lots of good knowledgable and friendly peeps here.
Peace, out.

Heya guys, thanks for the replies... After visiting the vendors' site, I finally ordered today. I purchased a 510 at cignot today.

Being an OC (and Gemini) I opted to by a 510 instead of the 808 after researching the difference of the two.

Loving this forum.. lots of support and very friendly!

I will update you guys soon..
