I was at band practice the other day and the battery was going off to the rhythm of my bass guitar!
Is there anyway to avoid this? I have heard many problems with wind and other things setting it off. But when i go to a bar and play a show im gonna need my 401, and dont need a dead battery.
Is there a case i can get that will protect my battery from being a strobe light?

This kept on happening when I played music in the car. So I padded my case, and it stopped it turning on itself. The sounds doesnt seem to affect it as much when im actually holding the Evo though.

Apologies for blurry pic:

This is a big problem with the 401. I love the 401 but have given up on taking them to gigs or to see music. I think perhaps more padding might work. I have a bunch of 401 cases that I'll try working with. I have a mini pipe and the switch in that doesn't go off to sound. Come to think of it my 901's are ok with music too.

It's not the 401 per se. Most 401's have the common vacuum switch, which activates the battery when it senses vacuum draw. (Sucking)

The EVO's have a sound sensor (microphone) which activates the battery when it hears the air rush by when sucking. Any fairly loud sound will activate the battery.

My battery storage box has plastic latches. When I snap the latches, my EVO batteries twinkle like Christmas tree lights.

this is an absolutely ridiculous feature/bug to have on an item that is not only hip and trendy and so a natural for clubs/bars, but also touted as something able to be used where smoking is prohibited but desirable, such as a bar. heck, i know some people who *only* smoke(d) in bars.

i think this is important enough that they need to have a disclaimer about it, and also, i think it would be a pretty major selling point for batteries that aren't sound-activated to be advertised as such. like "club friendly vacuum switch" or something. i'm now gonna go on a search to find some and when i do i'm buying a *bunch*.

DSE401 batteries aren't sound activated and work just fine with 401 atomizers.

When I bought them it was from eSmokerShop E-Cigarettes, Cartridges, e-Liquid but you might want to check to make sure that he is still selling them. Also I did a battery puff count at one point and the DSE401 did really well (in the EVO/Penstyle range).

thanks gatsby i'm there now and there's no kits listed but looks like there's some batts, i'll email in advance to see if they're what i'm after.

Would any of you guys know the decibel tolerance of m401 auto batteries? Clubs and bars are noisy alright, but what about in a room with a home theater setup? I'm thinking of vaping while watching DVDs at home; would that be loud enough for the batt to go off?

Sorry can't physically test it, I've yet to receive my m401, my very first e-cig. :D
