Yeah it could be a gennie type tank. I was thinking scratch built atty for use with a short ceramic wick.

Are you keeping the fill hole/other holes plugged? I have left them out as it seemed to keep the wick wetter, however doing so also keeps everything wetter if it doesn't stay upright :D

I'm just trying to work on efficiency with the ceramic, and was thinking that the short ceramic wicks seem to have less lag and need less power than long and thicker wicks.

Yes, much less lag on the small wicks used on my drippers.

On the RSSTs I plug, on the AGA I leave the fill hole open. Sometimes I plug the AGA with a small PTFE tube that reduces the fill hole but leaves a small hole for air.

Yeah basically a tank fed dripper that didn't require squonking. I have an aga with plenty of holes that I might try something on, just no u wicks.
I prefer the AGAs they seem to be working better with the white wicks than The Rssts. Don't really know why. I do prefer the glass tanks to the plastic.

lol....I agree to both that the aga seems to work better and not knowing why. I think part of it may be chamber volume, but I also think it might have something to do with the rsst metal being so thin. IDK, probably all in my head.

Have you tried the reduced chamber volume caps for the aga? I have been to cheap to buy one to try.

I saw those too. I've been trying to find a way to reduce the air space in these caps. I tried using some gum, but the gum flavor was too strong and made it taste nasty. I wonder if I could use some fish tank silicon???

Not tried the reduced cap but have used some thin aluminum sheet to form a cone in the chamber that reduces the volume, works with the press on cap not the screw cap. It may help a little, but with my long double draws it is not that noticeable.

Back to basics, standard atty is, poly filler, Ni foam, silica wick.
New test wick for the gennies 3mm hemp in the tank, Ni foam to join the hemp to the AO wick.
I fluffed the hemp and laid the AO wick in it before wrapping the Ni foam around both.
I will set this in a RSST with the Ni in the wick hole and the AO wrapped with ribbon kanthal.

Having a problem. These setups are now working so good I hate to take one apart to test something new.:D
Have two AGAs and two RSSTs and I prefer the AGA. Ordered a few more AGAs. Good price.
