Hi, all! I discovered this forum a week ago, the day I ordered my blu starter kit. You probably guessed I found it *after* I ordered the blu. From what I read, it's not a bad starter PV, but if this works to get me off analogs, I'll probably want to upgrade. I've been smoking for 16 years, since I was 21. I absolutely love smoking, but I hate all the things that go along with it. When I first started smoking, I think I told myself that I would only smoke for maybe a year and quit. Ha! Like it's that easy! Well, I'm not ready to quit inhaling and exhaling vapor, but I'm ready to quit smoking! I have a really good feeling about vaping. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and tell you good people I hope to soon be joining your ranks!

I have a blu, so does my husband, and though we also have 510's now (and I have an RN4081) the blu is not all that bad. There's a lot of hate for blu around here LOL. Anyway, my husband totally quit analogs just using a blu (I quit a long time ago and went to vaping instead of returning to analogs), and still uses it every day...... and I use mine as the "dash and go" pack.

Good luck, and welcome!

Well, I'm hoping I can pick up the blu and put down the analogs altogether. I smoke about a pack of Marlboro Ultra Light 100s a day (about half a cigarette at a time). After reading up on here, it looks like if this works I'm going to want to go with the 510, and maybe do some dripping with a LR 306 (I've been doing my homework!). It surprises me how many people get discouraging comments from their friends and family. When I told my mom that I had ordered one, she hugged me and said she was proud of me (and my mom is so totally anti-smoking, although I'm old enough to remember when she smoked in the '70's!). I live in an area where there are a LOT of smokers (Kentucky's cash crop is tobacco, after all, and I can still buy a pack of smokes for about $3), and all of my smoking friends can't wait for mine to get here so they can try it. Bottom line, I don't know anyone who smokes that doesn't wish they had never started, myself included. Since I can't go back and remedy that, I'm taking at least a big step towards getting healthier! I have a daughter that's two, so that is a big motivation, also, but I'm doing this for me. Yeah, I noticed some people have no love for the blu, but posts like yours kept me from canceling the order!

Yeah, I think I read every post in the blu forum :) Sounds like the main problems are caused by improper technique and that little piece of foil sticking to the atty. This wait is killing me (although I can't complain about the processing/shipping time; it's been pretty fast). I'm hoping the nic level I ordered (ultra light) works for me. Seems like part of the trick, too, is finding a flavor that you like enough. Someone recommended the Halo sampler, and that looks pretty good. Supposedly has some great tobacco flavors? Since I'm coming off analogs, I'm one of those who atm wants a tobacco taste.

I have the Blu also; as well as a 510 setup. i still use the Blu on occasion. If you decide to keep the Blu, there are a couple of tips to get the most from it.

1. When screwing in the atomizer, don't screw it in completely tight. Screw it in just before it is tightened all the way.
2. Store the Blu when not vaping it upright. This will allow the ejuice to wick better on the atomizer.
3. When you first attach a cartridge, twist around a few times, then remove it. you will most likely see some tinfoil on the bridge of the atomizer. Remove the tinfoil and replace the cartridge.
4. i have found that sometimes it is beneficial to insert a paperclip in the mouthend hole and gently push down. This makes the internal cart make better contact with the bridge. This is not always necessary, or wanted. So only use this if nothing else works.

Hope this helps. And welcome!

Hey, thanks for the tips, and it's nice to see some people still use their blu even though they have other PVs! I'll definitely keep all these things in mind when the big day comes tomorrow. I'm so excited! So, do you know the model number of the blu atty? If I wanted to try a 510 atty before I buy one, can I put one on the blu battery?

Just a heads-up here. You cannot use the slim Joye/Yeti/Titan/all of the various names it's sold under through assorted vendors batteries with low resistance atomizers. You're going to need, at the very least, an eGo battery. You need at least a 450mAh battery to use with LR atties. I believe the standard Joye batteries are around 180mAh. Either way, at some point you'll likely want to up the power, but if the Blu works to get you off the analogs then that's good enough in and of itself.

Oh, I probably didn't type that out clearly enough. Yeah, it seems like the one people eventually go to is the Riva/eGo 510, and if the blus work and I feel I want to invest some more, I'll go that way so later I can try the drip with the LR 306. I was wondering if I can use a 510 atty on the blu battery so I can preview a 510 before I get the whole setup?

Oh, 1 very important thing I learned the hard way. After I bought a 510 kit, i tried charging the 510 battery using the Blu USB charger. Goodbye 510 battery. The polarity is reversed on the Blu, so the chargers will fry a 510 battery. I strongly suggest labeling the charger for use with Blu only. The threads are the same on the Blu and the 510. But the polarity isn't the same.

Yes, you can. Attys will work, as well as cartomizers. Just be careful since the Blu is an automatic. If you flood the atty, the juice will leak onto the Blu battery and probably ruin the battery.

Thanks for pointing that out! I have so many random chargers around here, I need to start labeling them all anyway. Sounds like they made them that way just so you can't charge other stuff. That's kind of mean! I will definitely label any chargers I get so I don't fry any batteries, because I can totally see myself doing this.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Blu when used as intended. I had a Blu a while back. I thought it would be a convenient little vape package for cruisin on the Harley. No dice...Blu is sound activated...LOL. Other than that it worked as intended. Best vape out there? Nah. But not everyone needs the best.

Welcome to ECF!

Haha, yeah I'd heard about loud noises making the battery go off. Not compatible with a hog, huh? :) I'll mostly be using this one in the comfort of my home (thank god, cuz it's COLD out there). Granted, my little girl can get a little noisy sometimes, but I don't think that'll be a prob! ;)
