And also, I must seriously have some unrefined taste buds because I never noticed this HUGE change in flavor with the real Boba's Bounty... it changed a little bit but some people have said it's unvapable when they first get it?! I always got 100ml every month, vaped it right from the get-go and it was delicious all month.. maybe some slight change, but nothing drastic!
Boba's is Vanilla Tobacco, Chocolate, and Butterscotch.
(I'm at work now so I don't have my recipe, it's tacked up in the shop. If anyone is interested, I'll post it when I get home tonight.)
I had a baklava dessert the other day from a gyro place.. I thought of bobas... The honey flavor in bobas seems to me like what is really missing from these clones. Has anyone out there found a great honey flavor? And for breakfast I eat a lot of honey/peanut butter/cinnamon toast... Also think of Boba's
My next move is to try some different sweeteners. Any suggestions?
Just thinking out loud here. Still chasing the rabbit
I've got hundreds of dollars invested in the whole DIY thing, but I'm always buying BB to vape and try to beat, or at least make something I enjoy as much. No luck yet.
I think we may have solved part of the bobas riddle.
So lets recap what we all taste in Bobas.
Caramel and vanilla = that's RY4
Cherry and cream = that's Gold and Silver
Raisin = that could be Turkish Blend or Desert Ship
Note: Although these are sold in the USA as mostly PG based flavors there are similar VG versions available here and abroad.
Now we need our natural sugar. This is where Ben tricks our mind into thinking that we taste graham crackers or cinnamon danish when in fact it is so simple!
What better natural sugar than honey! Yes I mean real natural honey, not the TFA perfume stuff. In my preliminary mixes it only takes about 3-5 drops of honey in a 30ml batch. This gives it that tasty sweetness to your tongue but also makes Bobas the coil killer. And so now we have both, our extracts that gives us our tobacco molecules and our natural sugars that allows for the fermentation.
So the final ingredient then is the cinnamon flavoring. My guess here is that it could be a very small amount of Red hot cinnamon (candy type flavor) or the regular (medium) cinnamon flavor, but not the cinnamon spice(too strong).
So many of you are the original contributors to this endeavor so I'm sharing this info early and if you are willing to help perhaps we can hammer out some tasty formulas based on my speculations.

I am all support to new recipes. This is what the thread is all about. Good luck.I'm right with you, sir.
This afternoon (Land of Oz time) I made the first of my attempted "clones" to show real promise. Ingredients:
RY4
Camel
Cherry Ripe (for the chocolate and coconut)
Red Cola
and, my "secret ingredient", just kidding,
Royal Peking Jelly (= HONEY - a liquid with a consistency similar to VG, probably a bit less viscous)
No idea where to start with proportions but I decided to start with 70% of tobaccos, 20% Cherry Ripe and 10% coke, with each of these ingredients having been pre-mixed to give 12mg juices at approx 80% PG. Honey at 1 or 2 drops per ml of the final liquid according to taste has become a recent habit when I'm pursuing the elusive look and feel of BB. When I made up each of the individual ingredients I ended up with less Camel than RY4. So the final mix was:
RY4 40%
Camel30% \
Cherry Ripe 20%
Red Cola 10%
All 12mg, mostly PG because I was short of VG - probably close to 80:20. Plan to go for a 50:50 next time, after tweaking.
Then I added 2 drops of honey per 3 ml of the final liquid. (Planning to increase after steeping as necessary).
All up, I made 90ml, kept 4ml for "immediate testing", and have set aside the balance to steep for a few days.
Notes: The RY4 and Camel concentrates were Chinese and have a recommended usage of 15 - 25%. I used 20% for each one.
The Cherry Ripe and Coke were 0 nic "doublers" bought from a local supplier. The honey was an expensive present which I didn't know what to do with - until now. I'm sure there are many alternatives, both real honey and flavor concentrates.
My impressions of the first test sample which I have been vaping for about 8 hours alongside genuine 12mg Boba's are:
1. Too much Cola
2. Not enough honey
3. It's not Boba's but it's the closest thing to Boba's which I have produced (and I've tried almost every ECF recipe which I could find, including #7 which I believe to be the best of them).
This is very promising and I can hardly wait to try it (and tweak) after steeping.
Odd you are bringing up dirty nic. I just recieved 2/250ml of 'Nude Nic' because I am trying to get a cleaner vape. My thinking was the nic I was using had to much of the cinnamon flavor (from WL) and throwing the taste. I'm thinking lower %'s of variant flavors in my mixes would than not be overwhelmed and maybe the subtle flavors in BB would surface. Pretty neat tho..your father vapes vg/nic. Mine is 74 and still smokes his MB, 2 or 3 a day...he's slowed down allot. I'd love to get him to vape but that MB keeps his youth in him.
Just tried my tiny sample of Boba's (again). Thinking it might have HS Pipe Tobacco as one of the ingredients. Also had a thought that maybe Ben just buys a pre-made juice such as DIYFS Black Jack Tobacco and adds some extra ingredients to it. Any thoughts?

I knew you mentioned this awhile back and dug it up....I don't think anyone is going to ignore it this time. I believe you are right. I think the other tobacco flavor is TA.OK, I've hinted at this a while back, I feel most of Bobas taste can be attributed to the pictured flavor. I really think if you add the other tobacco elements to this you have it. This was mentioned, and quickly dismissed back around post 1800, I think that was a mistake. as far as I know it is not offered as a concentrate, but it is a pretty strong flavor, and pretty good mixed at about 10% . I'll also add I asked what the carrier was for this, did not get an answer, I believe it is mostly VG, its too thick to be PG. Another interesting point is you won't find this anywhere on DIYFS site. Maybe it is 40% because this is not a concentrate no idea, but to my buds, nose, etc, this is a big part of it.![]()
I dug this up too from Aheadatime and that tangy/alcoholic/fruity could be DIYFS Expert Beer or Brandy flavoring. Man on man, I do feel like we are very very close to a clone version that we can make in any vg/pg ratio and a zero nic version.Imo, all of the Boba's clones so far have been missing something. There is something 'tangy/alcoholic/fruity' in boba's that I can't quite nail. What I do know is that it's not cherry and it's not coconut like people believe. It's very rich and very strong, but either I've never tasted it in real life (like Almond Amaretto, which I've now tried and isn't the culprit), or the flavor concentrate doesn't taste like the real thing and my taste buds are confused. I thought the fellow (ccwaters) may have figured out the flavor a few pages back, but as always... anyone who thinks they get close to Boba's just teases the crowd and leaves the thread. Back to the lab again. @JohnnyDill - Try VZ's "Black Cigar" instead of TFA's Black Mile. I've found that at 1.5-2%, it's a nice mellow background cigar instead of an in-your-face cigar.

...... So here is a short a sweet:I think the 3 Tobacco components is TA, Dawn's B&M, and Captain Black Cigar. The fruity/tangy components is Black Cherry and some type of Spiced Rum/Whisky/Wine/Beer flavor.Attached is someone's artwork that fits what BB is all about. Now can someone ask Ben if we're on the right track.

I got it, can't tell the difference. I have a real bottle here, everyone I let smell it says they can't tell the difference. The flavor is dead on. It may not be exactly what he uses but I can't tell the diff.
I made a 5 mill bottle.
24mg nic
100 vg
6 drops of black and mild flavor
2 drops of cotton candy
2 drops of coconut
The secret ingredient is just VG steeped in a vat with a well worn pair of Birkenstocks for 3 months.
Lol i fulfilled the burden of proof so far to the best of my abilities by listing my premises and coming to a conclusion.

You now have the burden of proving me wrong and if your best argument is ad hoc, then that is quite foolish rofl. If you wish to debate logic with me feel free.
