All recipes i tested, are not like bobas.
What do i wrong?

Can you post your recipes please here?

I try '#3, #7... It doesnt work for me... i also have not the b&m tabacco here in germany!

When you say "It doesn't work for me", do you mean the juice you made isn't enjoyable when you vape it?

The value of this thread isn't whether or not the recipes shared taste just like Boba's, but whether or not they're good to vape. They've also given me a lot of ideas for different variations to experiment with. Ideas I wouldn't come up with on my own.

That's my take on it, any way. :)

I made a batch of #7 over a week ago and LOVE it! I have never had the real thing so I don't care if it is an exact match. Thanks to all on this thread for some great recipes.

Awesome - did you try it before it was done steeping? If so, how did it compare to over a week of steeping vs a couple days?

Omg... Did a variation of some of these and ... wow. 2 days steeping and it's developed a bit since the initial test.
Used 50/50 vg/pg, no nicotine.
3% Graham Cracker (TPA)
2% Coconut (Capella(much better than TPA))
1% Cigar (Super concentrate, VapingZone)
4% Vanillan (TPA)
5% Cigar Extract (made by me from a swisher cigar)

Nice cigar taste w/ a hint of coconut and graham... Very nice.

That sounds delicious - I've gotta try it as well, I think I've got all those flavors thankfully (I don't think I have VZ SC Cigar but I do have Black Cigar, maybe that'll be a good substitute)

And also, I must seriously have some unrefined taste buds because I never noticed this HUGE change in flavor with the real Boba's Bounty... it changed a little bit but some people have said it's unvapable when they first get it?! I always got 100ml every month, vaped it right from the get-go and it was delicious all month.. maybe some slight change, but nothing drastic!

Hopefully working DIY will refine them a little bit haha. Am I crazy or did anyone else feel like Boba's Bounty didn't change much after steeping?

Well, I do a warm bath on my liquids after I'm finished, sometimes several. SO Idk if that expedites the steeping process and that's why I could tell a difference?? Not sure. I need to retry it. It's been probably about a week now. The whole "it changes with a week thing" is why I used my homemade extract. People mention Boba's changes quite a bit as it steeps, which seems to be especially the case with tobacco/cigar extracts. Plus I had just made the cigar extract and figured why not give it a use? Lol
As for the Black Cigar/Cigar substitute, it's fine. I sub'd the cigar for the Black Cigar in the first place. You're 'supposed' to use B.C. From what I read, the flavors are very similar anyway. It's just the B.C. has a stronger chocolate note and that's why I didn't get it. To me, Black and Milds don't have a chocolate note to them. It's more vanilla than anything. I'm going to do my own black and mild extraction once i get my PG in the mail. Extractions are super easy once you get the method down and the results are nice. Not to mention, they're cheap as well.

Can anyone suggest an over-the-counter cigar that I might try for extraction that might be close to that B&M, BC, or any of the other cigar flavors used in #7?

Well, you could do an extract of a real Black & Mild cigar - but I don't know what the outcome would be, since B&M cigars are machine made from chopped-up & flavored tobaccos, your result might not be too palatable, but I think they have them at most convenience stores for about 60 cents, so no big loss if it doesn't work out...

If you are looking for something to try that should have a similar flavor profile, go to a cigar shop tell them you are considering "moving up" from B&M and want to start with something similar for a reasonable price. Most decent shops should be able to help you.

I've never smoked a B&M myself, so I'm afraid I can't help you there, but from recipes I've made using VZ B&M & Black Cigar, it reminds me a lot of a Torano Maduro cigar (they make a couple of sizes & varieties of Maduros - The name "Maduro" refers to the dark brown wrapper of the cigar which goes through a different fermentation process to bring out more of the natural sugars)...I'd just go for the cheapest one they have - you are going to be chopping it up anyway. They are dark, flavorful, and have notes of cocoa...yet are still relatively mild cigars.

They are generally not too badly priced for a hand-rolled cigar either, though depending on where you live, you may experience sticker shock....but you only need one, and it will produce a hell of a lot of extract.

Good luck..

Firstly, I have never even tried BB but I wanted to. Can't get it where I am. So I am doing DIY and thought I would research the subject. I read every post on ECF about BB going back to the beginning.

Simple recipe, no more than 4 items, changing flavor along the way, reddish tinge to the liquid, earthy, nutty, spicy highlights, strange smell, little bits seen floating in the liquid, expensive ingredient, inventor has Asian exposure (although Spanish, Turkish, Iranian is more apt).

I believe the key secret ingredient is missing. And I am pretty sure it is..............SAFFRON

Probably something similar to the very first recipe on the thread. My guess would be he is doing a saffron extract with VG and adding it to the mix. It is very strong so only a very small amount is needed. And did I mention it was expensive? In fact the most expensive spice on the planet. (Not 'Arrakis' expensive but close). This is what gives it the reddish orange tinge and leaves those tiny little bits floating in the liquid IMO.

Tobacco Extract (Possibly RY4 and no need to add vanilla below)
Vanilla
Coconut
Cola
Saffron

My conclusion anyway - Have fun.

Saffron extraction

Get saffron, crush it in fingers, add it to VG in shot glass, microwave for 15 seconds, let it steep for 6-8 hours. Liquid turns from a yellowy orange to a reddy orange as it steeps. I have no idea how much to add.

Another little tid bit there is a flavored tobacco out there called Bounty which states vanilla coconut and cola notes ;-)

Addendum

On reflection I am going to put forward that the base of BB is actually a saffron VG extraction with flavorings and nicotine added to the base. This makes sense when I see the color of my saffron extraction which is almost exactly the same as BB and the fact that it still has minute particles of saffron in it. Pure speculation of course ;-)

Oh, and since this thread inspired me to buy Black Mile flavoring, I'll share a recipe I cobbled together that turned out pretty good.

8% TFA Honeysuckle
5% TFA Vanilla Swirl
2% Black Mile
2% Ethyl Maltol solution (I don't know what % EM is in my PG, but it's just under the point where a few crystals will settle at the bottom of the bottle)
0.5% TFA Smooth
0.5% Vinegar
